A stent is disclosed that has an elongated body composed of a bioabsorbable polymer having a proximal end, a distal end, two open spiral channels formed on the exterior surface of the body to provide fluid communication between the proximal end and the distal end. The stent also has a central lumen open at the proximal and distal ends of the stent for the passage of a guide wire. A method for using the stent and a kit containing the stent are also disclosed.

PROXIMAL HUMERAL STABILIZATION SYSTEM

Devices, systems, and methods for bone stabilization, especially proximal humeral stabilization. The stabilization system may include a bone plate having an elongated portion extending along a longitudinal axis and an enlarged head portion extending from the elongated portion. The stabilization system may include an intramedullary nail having an upper portion and a lower portion extending from the upper portion, the upper portion and the lower portion including a plurality of holes. A plurality of fasteners may be configured to extend through one or more of the plurality of through holes in the bone plate and/or one or more of the plurality of holes in the intramedullary nail and into the bone. The plate and nail may each be used alone or in combination together to stabilize a fracture in a long bone, such as a humerus.

Systems and methods for intramedullary nail implantation

Intramedullary nails, aiming guide assemblies, and methods. The aiming guide assembly can include an aiming guide having an elongate proximal handle portion. A generally arcuate distal implant alignment tip connector portion is connected to the proximal handle portion and has a distal implant alignment tip extending along a tip axis parallel to a longitudinal axis of the proximal handle portion. A recon module may be releasably attached to a proximal end of the proximal handle portion. An oblique module may be releasably attached to the distal implant alignment tip portion.

Implantable compensating sleeve for an endoprosthesis
10743997 · 2020-08-18 · ·

An implantable compensating sleeve is for application between a longitudinal implant section of a first implant, and a second implant that encompasses the longitudinal implant section of the first implant. The compensating sleeve has a sheath with a sheath body and a passage, running from the proximal to the distal end of the sheath body, for receiving the longitudinal implant section of the first implant. The sheath body is formed from separate planar and/or rod-shaped compensating elements which are arranged in a ring and aligned in the longitudinal direction of the sheath body. A gap runs from the proximal to the distal end between two adjacent compensating elements. Adjacent compensating elements are interconnected by at least one foldable wire such that they can move relative to one another.

Intramedullary device

An intramedullary orthopaedic device is disclosed including an intramedullary rod configured for insertion into a bone, the rod including a first elongate member having a first mating surface and at least a second elongate member having a second mating surface. The first mating surface is configured to engage with the second mating surface such that the elongate members are longitudinally moveable but substantially not rotationally moveable relative to each other. Each mating surface can have an elongate ridge and an elongate groove. A guided growth system and method is also disclosed.

Bone fusing device for fusing phalanges

A bone fusing device to connect and facilitate fusion between two adjacent phalanges in a body has a single elongated body having a first distal end and a second proximal end connected by a middle portion having four radially extending anti-rotation fins. Each end has a bone entry tip and a plurality of adjacent barbs. Each of the barbs has a sloped surface for entry into the bone and a sharp surface to prevent extraction once press fit into one of the phalanges. Preferably, the first distal end is shorter than the second proximal end. The elongated body is straight or has affixed bend at a location in the middle portion.

CANNULATED NAIL EXTRACTOR
20200222098 · 2020-07-16 · ·

A cannulated nail extractor including an extractor having a proximal end for connecting to an extraction device, a distal end opposite the proximal end, and a connector extending from the distal end. The cannulated nail extractor further includes an engagement wire having an enlarged proximal end configured to engage the extractor and an enlarged distal end configured to engage a distal end of the cannulated nail. The cannulated nail extractor further includes a positioning wire for insertion into the cannulated nail for urging the enlarged distal end of the engagement wire into engagement with the distal end of the cannulated nail, whereby exerting an extraction force on the extractor produces extraction force by engagement of the enlarged distal end of the engagement wire on the distally facing end of the cannulated nail.
