INSTRUMENTS, SYSTEMS, AND METHODS OF USING
Instruments, systems and methods for using the same for correcting bone deformities in the lower extremity are disclosed. An implant insertion and removal system, including an insertion instrument that has a body portion with a handle portion at a first end of the body portion and a coupling member extending away from the handle portion to a second end of the body portion, and an engagement member rotatably coupled to the coupling member of the body portion. Specifically, instruments and systems used for hammertoe procedures are disclosed.
MAGNETIC PROSTHETIC NAIL AND METHOD OF IMPLANTATION OF THE SAME
The magnetic implant system is provided to resolve the issue or deformed or removed nail from the fingers or toes using the magnetic implant and an artificial nail. The magnetic implant system of present invention is made of an implant made of a permanent magnet or rare earth metal coated with an inert metal to prevent infection at implanted location of the body, and an artificial nail made with 3D printing and digital scanning or otherwise, coated with the metallic paint at the backside to attract the magnetic field of the implant to hold its position at nail seat of finger or toe. According to one another embodiment, the implant is made of a metal while the backside of the artificial nail is made of a magnet.
Systems and Methods for Internal Bone Fixation
Internal bone fixation devices and methods for using the devices for repairing a weakened or fractured bone are disclosed herein. A device for use in repairing a fractured bone includes a delivery catheter having an elongated shaft with a proximal end, a distal end, and a longitudinal axis therebetween, wherein the delivery catheter has an inner void for passage of at least one reinforcing material and an inner lumen for passage of a light source; a conformable member releasably engaging the distal end of the delivery catheter, wherein the conformable member moves from a deflated state to an inflated state when the at least one reinforcing material is delivered to the conformable member; and an adapter releasably engaging the proximal end of the delivery catheter for receiving the light source and the at least one reinforcing material.
Device to be implanted in human or animal tissue and method for implanting and assembling the device
An implant or endoprosthesis suitable to be implanted in human or animal tissue includes two (or more than two) parts to be joined in situ. Each one of the parts includes a joining location, the two joining locations facing each other when the device parts are positioned for being joined together, wherein one of the joining locations includes a material which is liquefiable by mechanical vibration and the other one of the joining locations includes a material which is not liquefiable by mechanical vibration and a structure (e.g. undercut cavities or protrusions) suitable for forming a positive fit connection with the liquefiable material. The joining process is effected by pressing the two device parts against each other and by applying ultrasonic vibration to one of the device parts when the two parts are positioned relative to each other such that the two joining locations are in contact with each other.
Charco-resis implant, alignment instrument, system and method of use
An implant system, alignment guide, bone fusion system and surgical method for correction of a flat foot or rocker-bottom deformity, such as a Charcot foot. The implant system includes a bone implant and an elongate member. The bone implant includes a proximal end, a distal end, a hole along a longitudinal axis, and at least one opening intersecting the hole. The elongate member includes a first end with a head portion, a second end with a coupling mechanism, and an opening along a longitudinal axis. The coupling mechanism of the elongate member engages the at least one opening to couple the bone implant to the elongate member.
Fifth metatarsal repair systems and methods of use
The present application relates to repair systems, and more particularly to fifth metatarsal repair systems and methods of use. The repair systems described herein can include a fixation device with a threaded section. The repair systems described herein can include one or more grippers designed to be deflected outward to grip the sidewalls of an intramedullary canal of the fifth metatarsal. The repair systems described herein can include an end cap. The end cap can include a fastener including thread designed to engage the threaded section of the fixation device. The end cap can include a cap designed to move relative to the fastener.
JOINT REPLACEMENT ALIGNMENT GUIDES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF USE AND ASSEMBLY
Instruments, devices, systems and methods for maintaining, correcting and/or fusing joint deformities are disclosed. The system includes a first translation mechanism, a second translation mechanism coupled to the first translation mechanism, and a third translation mechanism coupled to the second translation mechanism. Methods of assembling and using the alignment guides for maintaining, correcting and/or fusing joint deformities are also disclosed.
Joint replacement alignment guides, systems and methods of use and assembly
Instruments, devices, systems and methods for maintaining, correcting and/or fusing joint deformities are disclosed. The system includes a first translation mechanism, a second translation mechanism coupled to the first translation mechanism, and a third translation mechanism coupled to the second translation mechanism, and a tower coupled to the third translation mechanism. Methods of assembling and using the alignment guides for maintaining, correcting and/or fusing joint deformities are also disclosed.
Tool for the Manipulation of Fastening Devices
A system for manipulating a rotational device using a flexible guide rod with an external rod feature along its length to engage a rotational device with a complementary interior channel feature along its length. A driver having a handle and coupling element is coupled to the rotational device while the flexible guide rod extends from the handle, through the coupling element, and into the interior channel of the rotational device in order to rotate from within along the length of the device.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR LAPIDUS REPAIR OF BUNIONS
Systems, devices, and methods for performing Lapidus bunionectomy procedures are disclosed. An example method includes inserting a plurality of metatarsal pins into the first metatarsal at a first predetermined spacing relative to the first tarsometatarsal (TMT) joint, excising the first TMT joint by cutting the bases of the first metatarsal and the first cuneiform proximate the first TMT joint, inserting a plurality of cuneiform pins into the first cuneiform at a second predetermined spacing relative to the first TMT joint, compressing the first TMT joint using a compressor block such that a cut face of the first metatarsal contacts a cut face of the first cuneiform, and fixing the first TMT joint using a bone plate and a plurality of bone screws. At least one of the plurality of bone screws may be a cross screw extending at an angle of less than 90 degrees relative to the bone plate and may anchor the resected first TMT joint to the second metatarsal or the second cuneiform to prevent recurrence of the bunion.
