Orthopedic anchor assembly
An orthopedic assembly is described that comprises an orthopedic device, an anchor, and a locking mechanism. The orthopedic device can be a plate member having an aperture that is configured to receive the anchor. The anchor can include a head, neck and shank portion. The head portion can include a plurality of arms separated by grooves that are capable of splaying. The assembly is configured such that when the locking mechanism is inserted into the head portion, this causes expansion of the arms of the head. This expansion locks and secures the anchor to the orthopedic device. Various instruments are provided that can deliver the locking mechanism to the anchor, and can provide impact to lock functionality.
FIXING INSTRUMENT FOR OPEN-TYPE DISTAL TIBIAL OSTEOTOMY
A fixing instrument for an open-type distal tibial osteotomy according to an exemplary embodiment of the present invention is installed on a tibia incised by the open-type distal tibial osteotomy, and the fixing instrument includes: a body portion which is in close contact with the tibia and has a plurality of coupling holes and an oblong hole; a head portion which is connected to one end of the body portion and has a plurality of coupling holes; screws which are inserted into the coupling holes; and a block which is detachably installed in the oblong hole by using a sliding screw, in which the head portion is formed to have a predetermined angle based on a lower surface of the head portion, and the other end of the body portion is formed to have a predetermined angle based on a lower surface of the body portion.
Bone plate
A bone plate has an underside on the side of the bone, an upper side and a plurality of holes in the plate connecting the underside with the upper side, with a central hole axis. At least one of these holes in the plate has an internal jacket surface that tapers towards the underside, while the internal jacket surface has N≥3 recesses which extend radially away from the axis of the hole.
Systems and methods for using polyaxial plates
Certain embodiments of the invention provide plates for treating periarticular fractures or other non-full body weight bearing applications that combine polyaxial fixation with a low profile and enhanced contouring that more closely conforms to bone. Such plates can be designed to achieve buttressing effect and/or to be used in a reinforcement mode. Other features can be combined with these. Such plates can be created for use on bone sites such as on a tibia, fibula, metatarsal, calcaneous, other foot bone, humerus, radius, ulna, spinal, maxillofacial, as well as sites on other bones.
ORTHOPEDIC BONE FIXATION ASSEMBLY
An orthopedic fixation assembly for connecting to a bone includes a fixation plate having a hole, an insert securable to the hole and a screw securable to the insert. The fixation plate includes a shoulder recessed from its upper surface and an aperture. The insert includes a base portion and a flange extending laterally from an upper end of the base portion. The insert defines an insert central axis extending in a direction generally perpendicular to the flange. The screw has a screw head and the base portion has an insert hole with machined internal threads for engaging the screw. The insert hole defines an insert hole central axis extending in a direction at an offset angle relative to the insert central axis. The aperture of the fixation plate is dimensioned to receive the base portion of the insert and the recessed shoulder is dimensioned to receive the flange.
Bone plate system for osteosynthesis
A bone plate system is for osteosynthesis with a bone plate, a bone screw, the screw head of which has, at least in sections, a surface structure, a further bone screw, the screw head of which has, at least in sections, a surface structure, a through-hole, which is configured to hold the bone screw polyaxially, a further through-hole, which is associated with the through-hole and configured to hold the further bone screw, a perforation which connects the through-hole and the further throughhole, and a bulge, which is formed opposite to the perforation on the through-hole, extending the latter, hi the screwed-in state, the bone screw and the further bone screw are affixed at a fixed angle in many dimensions by virtue of the screw heads of the bone screw and the further bone screw being secured against a relative notion in relation to one another and in relation to the bone plate by a tensioned multi-point mount, in which attachments of the bone screw are formed in the through-hole at both transition regions between the bulge and the through-hole section respectively adjacent to the bulge.
Methods and devices for intracorporeal bonding of implants with thermal energy
The present invention provides a method for stabilizing a fractured bone. The method includes positioning an elongate rod in the medullary canal of the fractured bone and forming a passageway through the cortex of the bone. The passageway extends from the exterior surface of the bone to the medullary canal of the bone. The method also includes creating a bonding region on the elongate rod. The bonding region is generally aligned with the passageway of the cortex. Furthermore, the method includes positioning a fastener in the passageway of the cortex and on the bonding region of the elongate rod and thermally bonding the fastener to the bonding region of the elongate rod while the fastener is positioned in the passageway of the cortex.
Bone anchor locking device
A bone anchor locking device for receiving a bone anchor having a shank and an enlarged head, the device has a bone anchor, a dome and a conical split washer. The receiving portion has a base extending radially outward and inwardly to a wall. The dome has a center aperture sized to pass a bone anchor. The split washer has an inner conical surface sloped to slide and expand against at least a portion of the base on insertion of a bone anchor to allow a maximum diameter of a head of a bone anchor to pass and thereafter the split washer retracts overlying the maximum diameter of the head to prevent a bone anchor from backing out.
ORTHOPAEDIC FIXATION DEVICES, SYSTEMS AND METHODS
A ratchet fastener includes a base including a fastening portion including threads and a ratchet portion including teeth and a ratchet wheel disposed in mating arrangement with the teeth. The ratchet fastener is configured to receive a tether. The ratchet wheel is configured to be rotated to tighten the tether.
Low profile intervertebral implant
The present invention is directed to a low profile intervertebral implant for implantation in an intervertebral disc space in-between adjacent vertebral bodies. The intervertebral implant includes a plate preferably coupled to a spacer. The plate is preferably formed from a first material and the spacer is preferably formed from a second material, the first material being different from the second material. The plate is preferably sized and configured so that the plate does not extend beyond the perimeter of the spacer. In this manner, the plate preferably does not increase the height profile of the spacer and the plate may be implanted within the intervertebral disc space in conjunction with the spacer.
