Devices, apparatus and methods for patient-specific MIS procedures. A patient-specific, MIS navigation guide device may include a main body having a proximal surface and a distal surface, wherein the distal surface is configured to face target tissue upon placement of said MIS navigation guide device. Anchors extend distally of the distal surface, and distal ends of the anchors lie on a three dimensional surface that matches contours of the target tissue in locations where the anchors are designed to contact. A position indicator on the device is interpretable by a surgeon to know when the anchors have not yet been contacted to the target tissue in a predetermined orientation and to know when the anchors have been contacted to the target tissue in the predetermined orientation.

Modular Orthopedic Clamps

An orthopedic clamp to assist in reducing the displacement between bone ends of a fracture, and to position a fixation device, during open fracture reduction surgery is described. The clamp includes a holder to hold the fixation device against the bone. The clamp may also swivel in relation to the holder while the position of the fixation device remains unchanged. The clamp may be modular so that components thereof may be released and/or attached.

Sternal closure systems and methods of use thereof

A sternal closure system for closing an opening in a sternum includes an implant and a plate pair comprised of first and second plates. The first and second plates secure with the sternum across the opening. The implant, in an insertion shape, inserts through the first and second plates and into the sternum across the opening, and then, upon a movement toward a natural shape, holds the opening closed while interconnecting the first and second plates. The sternal closure system alternatively includes an implant with a bridge having first and second apertures and first and second legs extending from the bridge. The implant, in an insertion shape, inserts into the sternum across the opening, and then, upon a movement toward a natural shape, holds the opening in the sternum closed. The implant, at the first and second apertures, receives fixation devices therethrough that engage the sternum.

Distal radius stabilization system

Devices, systems, and methods for bone stabilization, especially ulna head stabilization. The stabilization system may include a bone plate having an elongated portion extending along a longitudinal axis between a proximal end and a distal end. The bone plate defines a plurality of through holes extending through the elongated portion. A plurality of fasteners are configured to extend through one or more of the plurality of through holes in the bone plate and configured to secure the bone plate to the bone. The proximal end of the elongate portion has an arcuate configuration.

Spinal implant insertion tool

A spinal implant insertion tool includes a handle portion formed by the proximal ends of a first prong and second prong and an attachment portion formed by the distal ends of the first prong and the second prong. The spinal implant insertion tool also includes a hinged portion positioned between the handle portion and the attachment portion where the first and second prongs are coupled by a hinge. A first attachment section includes first connectors for holding a spinal plate. A second attachment portion includes second connectors for holding a spinal cage. The first prong includes an oblique portion so that it is nonlinear, while the second prong is linear, so that the hinge is offset from the spinal cage and spinal plate held by the spinal implant insertion tool.

Method of placing a bone implant in an operative position with respect to a bone part

The combination of: a) a bone implant having a body with a first portion that overlies an outer bone surface and first and second projections; and b) a bone implant handling instrument comprising: a guide assembly; and an implant advancing assembly. With a part of the bone implant handling instrument bearing against at least one bone part, the bone implant can be guided by the instrument in substantially a straight line in a first direction, while being maintained in substantially a same orientation with respect to the straight line, between a starting position and one operative position. The implant advancing assembly has at least one part that is movable against the bone implant to advance it into the operative position wherein the first and second projections are advanced into one or more bone parts and the first portion of the body overlies an outer bone surface. A method of placing the bone implant is also provided.

A GRIPPING AND POSITIONING TOOL FOR A SPINAL POLY-AXIAL SCREW INSERTION GUIDE

A gripping and positioning tool for a poly-axial screw insertion guide comprises a handle, a main body connected to the handle positioned at a first end of the main body and a coupling zone positioned at a second end of the main body. The coupling zone is able to vary its position with respect to the insertion guide keeping the application direction of the force applied by the surgeon to said instrument constant.

FORCEPS FOR INTERNAL FIXATION
20220133378 · 2022-05-05 ·

Provided is forceps for internal fixation, including: a first member having a first holding portion for holding a first side of bone fragments and a first grip extending from the first holding portion; and a second member having a second holding portion for holding a second side spaced a predetermined distance from the first side of the bone fragments and a second grip extending from the second holding portion.

SPINAL PLATE
20230248537 · 2023-08-10 ·

Spinal plates with additional features to improve the stability of the interface between the plate and the underlying bone. A bone plate may include one or more sharp ridges along the periphery of its underside. When attached to bone, the ridge digs into the bone and increases stability. A bone plate may alternatively or additionally include one or more holes for optional spikes, which may be inserted once the plate is attached to the bone. By separating the spikes and including them as an optional component, the plate may enhance stability while reducing or eliminating the chance of the spike injuring the patient. Furthermore, bone screws may incorporate alternating notches and ridges into the head of the screw. The notches and ridges may interface with a set screw, thereby preventing rotation and loosening of the screw.
