Self-aligning plating system and method
Self-aligning plating systems and methods are disclosed. The self-aligning plating system may include an interbody spacer, a medical device plate, and an insertion member. The interbody spacer may be inserted between a top vertebra and a bottom vertebra of a patient's spinal column. A medical device plate may slide along an insertion member in operable connectivity with the interbody spacer so that the medical device plate comes into contact with and can be secured to the patient's anatomy.
BONE REPOSITIONING GUIDE SYSTEM AND PROCEDURE
An improved surgical system and procedure for correcting a deformity between first and second bones using an alignment guide based on a correction factor. The correction factor can be based on a virtual model of the first and second bones in a deformed configuration and a corrected configuration. In the virtual corrected configuration, first and second virtual axes can be fixed in the respective first and second bones. When reverted to the virtual deformed configuration, the orientation of the first and second axes can be used to determine the correction factor. The alignment guide is used to insert one or more k-wires into each of the first and second bones in a deformed configuration. A correction guide is passed along the k-wires to rotate and/or translate the first bone relative to the second bone into the corrected configuration.
Volar distal radius stabilization system
Devices, systems, and methods for bone stabilization, especially volar distal radius stabilization. The stabilization system may include a bone plate having an elongated portion, an enlarged head portion, and a transition region connecting the elongated portion to the enlarged head portion, and the plate including a plurality of through holes. A plurality of fasteners may be configured to extend through one or more of the plurality of through holes in the bone plate and into the bone. The plate may be used to stabilize a fracture in a long bone, such as a radius.
REDUCTION AND FIXATION APPARATUS FOR CALCANEAL FRACTURE
A calcaneal fracture fixation and reduction apparatus and method.
SURGICAL FORCEPS FOR HOLDING TWO BONE PARTS
The invention relates to surgical forceps for holding two bone parts of a fractured bone at a bone fracture site comprising a first forceps part extending in a radial direction and a second forceps part extending in the radial direction rotatably held in a rotational direction about a pivot via a lock on the first forceps part, each forceps part having a forceps head with a clamping section at one end in the radial direction such that the bone parts are clampable between the forceps heads at the clamping sections, characterised in that each forceps part has a shoulder between the clamping sections and the lock, extending transversely to the radial direction and transversely to the direction of rotation, against which a plate can be placed against the radial direction for osteosynthesis of the bone parts.
Sternal plates and methods of use
A plate system for securing a first sternal portion and a second sternal portion of a separated sternum can include a first plate and a second plate. The first plate can include a first body and a first hook. The first body can include a first reduction bore. The first hook can extend from the first body. The first hook can be engageable with a lateral portion of the first sternal portion. The second plate can include a second body and a second hook. The second body can include a second reduction bore. The second hook can extend from the second body. The second hook can be engageable with a lateral portion of the second sternal portion opposite the first hook.
Facet plate for implant expulsion prevention
A plate and an installation tool are provided for preventing a spinal facet joint implant from expulsing from its implant location between a superior and an inferior vertebra. A k-wire is used in cooperation with the plate and installation tool to guide them to the desired location. The plate includes a central threaded bore situated between one or two superior bone screw or bone connection barb bores and one or two inferior bone screw or bone connection barb bores. The installation tool includes a threaded plug at one end for receipt by the plate's central threaded bore for releasably holding the plate during installation. The installation tool has a superior structure and an inferior structure that can be a cannula or tang depending on the plate's form.
Bone fixation system with fasteners and a removal tool for decoupling of the fasteners
A bone fixation assembly is disclosed. The bone fixation assembly may include a bone fixation plate including a fastener hole and a cavity adjacent to the fastener hole. The bone fixation assembly may also include a clip. The clip may include a body having a partial circular shape, the body positioned at least partially in the cavity. The clip may further include a plurality of tabs extending inward relative to the partial circular shape of the body, each tab having a convex shape extending inward relative to the partial circular shape of the body, wherein the body and the plurality of tabs are positioned below a top surface of the bone fixation plate.
LOCKING ELEMENT FOR A POLYAXIAL BONE ANCHOR, BONE PLATE ASSEMBLY AND TOOL
A tool adapted for use with a bone plate assembly includes a driver with an engagement portion configured to engage a locking element, and a tubular holder. The driver may be configured to extend with the engagement portion through the tubular holder, and may be axially movable and rotatable within the holder. The holder may have a radial slot adapted for insertion of the locking element. The holder may include a portion with an internal thread for cooperation with an external thread of the locking element. The locking element may be used with a polyaxial bone anchor.
BONE REPOSITIONING GUIDE SYSTEM AND PROCEDURE
A surgical system and procedure are provided for correcting a deformity between first and second bones using an alignment guide based on a correction factor. The alignment guide is used to insert one or more k-wires into each of the first and second bones in a deformed configuration. A correction guide is passed along the k-wires to rotate and/or translate the first bone relative to the second bone into the corrected configuration. An auxiliary correction guide can be passed along the k-wires to further rotate and/or translate the first bone relative to the second bone from the corrected configuration to an adjusted configuration.
