MULTIPLANAR FIXATION PLATE FOR FRACTURE REPAIR
Bone surgical plate devices and methods for use in bone fracture surgeries, for example, clavicle fracture surgery. The systems and methods can include a plate device with specific design features including but not limited to differing designs, geometries, and configurations in multiple segments of the device.
IMPLANT SYSTEM
An implant system for treating fractures of a curved bone structure is proposed which comprises the following: an implant body which is provided to be arranged on the bone structure and to be in contact with the latter at least in some regions, wherein the implant body has a rod-like longitudinal extent, wherein the implant body has at least one middle piece which, at both ends, has at least one respective holding piece, wherein the holding pieces are each designed to be flexurally and/or torsionally resistant in such a way as to allow the respective holding piece to rest substantially flat along a particular region of the bone structure assigned to it, and wherein the at least one middle piece is designed to be elastic in such a way that the at least two holding pieces are bendable relative to each other about at least one flexion or torsion axis.
Distally expanding facet joint implant and delivery device
A distally expanding facet joint implant and delivery device for distally distracting a facet joint. The facet joint implant generally includes an outer part and an inner part. The outer part includes a pair of opposed distally expandable facet plates connected by a hinge. The inner part includes a wedge that is selectively movable against the facet plates to distally expand and contract the facet joint implant into open and closed states. Teeth on the outer part engage indents on the inner part to maintain the facet joint implant in the distally expanded state. The outer and inner parts include outer and inner connectors, and the delivery device includes corresponding outer and inner connectors adapted to be in locked engagement with the outer and inner connectors to hold the implant and selectively cause it to distally expand and contract.
Metatarsal fixation device, system and method
A metatarsal fixation device is provided for fixation of osteotomy or fracture of a distal metatarsal metaphysis bone of the human foot and for fixation of an associated capsule to the metatarsal head. The device includes a metallic bone plate with a series of screw holes along an elongated portion of the plate and a combination of a singular screw hole and a resilient clamp on an end of the elongated portion. The resilient clamp has two arched resilient arms extending laterally outward from an end of the elongated portion. Each arm has a plurality of spikes on an inner surface thereof providing points of contact that compress and attach a metatarsal phalangeal joint capsule portion to the medial and/or lateral aspect of the metatarsal head, thereby facilitating realignment of the metatarsophalangeal joint and respective digit. The resilient arms are biased to grasp lateral sides of a metatarsal head and any associated capsule portion.
Anchoring systems and methods for surgery
A surgical ring and related methods for plantar plate reconstruction and other surgical procedures are described. In particular, the described anchoring systems and surgical methods may include an anchor configured to wrap at least partially around a first bone associated with an affected joint, and wrap at least partially around a tissue alongside the first bone. The anchor may be compressed in a number of ways so as to compress the tissue alongside the first bone against the first bone. The anchor may be formed from a compressible material, configured with an open shape, and/or or include mechanically closeable or compressible features, and the like. The anchor may be formed from various materials including non-bioabsorbable, bioabsorbable, and/or superelastic materials. The first bone may be a metatarsal or phalanx and the tissue alongside the first bone may be a ligament, a plantar plate, or similar tissue.
BONE STABILIZATION SYSTEMS
Bone plates for engaging bone members are described herein. The bone plates can receive one or more screws to secure the bone plates to an underlying bone member. The one or more screws can be inserted into bone plate holes that can be considered locking or non-locking. The bone plates described herein can have particular combinations of locking and/or non-locking holes. The bone plates can include features that accommodate the underlying anatomy of different types of bone, such as the condylar region of a femur.
ORTHOPEDIC PLATE FOR TREATMENT OF TIBIAL FRACTURES AND RELATED METHODS
An orthopedic tension band plate includes proximal and distal portions. The proximal portion includes a first proximal aperture configured to receive a first securing member, and a second proximal aperture disposed distal of the first proximal aperture and configured to receive a second securing member. The distal portion includes first and second tines extending distally to first and second distal ends having first and second distal apertures configured to receive third and fourth securing members. At least the first and second tines are configured to wrap around and conform to portions of the bone proximate to the fracture and, thereby, convert tensile forces at the fracture into compressive forces when the first through fourth securing members are secured through their respective apertures and into the bone.
BONE PLATE, SURGICAL SETS AND RECONSTRUCTION SETS
A bone plate for reconstruction or trauma treatment of a bone which comprises first and second ends, a first contact surface for contacting and securing on a first region of the bone, and a plurality of receiving mechanism each having at least one opening for receiving at least one securing element. At least two adjacent wings extend at least from the first end of the main section, each has a second contact surface for contacting and securing to a second region of the bone, as well as at least one receiving mechanism having at least one opening for each receiving a securing element. A minimum bending stiffness of the main section, in relation to an axis (x) running perpendicular to the first contact surface, is greater than the minimum bending stiffnesses of the wings, but smaller than the total minimum bending stiffness of all wings extending from the first end.
Methods and apparatus for radially compressive shape memory implants
A radially compressive implant, which includes a central vertical axis, is configured to transition between a natural shape and an insertion shape. A transition of the implant from the natural shape to the insertion shape facilitates the implant storing energy deliverable radially relative to the central vertical axis. A transition of the implant from the insertion shape toward the natural shape facilitates the implant delivering the energy stored therein radially relative to the central vertical axis. An implant delivery device in an implant engagement position is configured to engage the implant and constrain the implant in the insertion shape. The implant delivery device in an implant release position is configured to release the implant.
DRIVEN UNIVERSAL SCREW GUIDE
A driven fastener guide for guiding a fastener into a hole of a bone plate. The driven fastener guide includes an elongated driver configured for connecting to a drill and a fastener guide member operably connected to the elongated driver. The fastener guide member includes a split body and a through-bore configured for receiving the fastener. The fastener guide member is configured for aligning the fastener relative to the hole of the bone plate.
