Metatarsal fixation device, system and method
A metatarsal fixation device is provided for fixation of osteotomy or fracture of a distal metatarsal metaphysis bone of the human foot and for fixation of an associated capsule to the metatarsal head. The device includes a metallic bone plate with a series of screw holes along an elongated portion of the plate and a combination of a singular screw hole and a resilient clamp on an end of the elongated portion. The resilient clamp has two arched resilient arms extending laterally outward from an end of the elongated portion. Each arm has a plurality of spikes on an inner surface thereof providing points of contact that compress and attach a metatarsal phalangeal joint capsule portion to the medial and/or lateral aspect of the metatarsal head, thereby facilitating realignment of the metatarsophalangeal joint and respective digit. The resilient arms are biased to grasp lateral sides of a metatarsal head and any associated capsule portion.
Femur Plate
A femur plate is provided, the femur plate comprising a first end portion anatomically pre-formed to conform to a trochanter region of the femur and a second end portion anatomically pre-formed to conform to a condyle region of the femur, wherein the second end portion comprises at least one first opening configured to receive a bone fastener. The femur plate further comprises an elongate shaft extending from the first end portion to the second end portion, the elongate shaft comprising at least one second opening configured to receive a bone fastener. Furthermore, a periprosthetic implant system comprising the femur plate and a method of implanting the femur plate are provided.
STABILIZATION SYSTEMS
Devices, systems, and methods of bone stabilization. The bone stabilization system includes a bone plate having an upper surface and a lower surface configured to be in contact with bone, the bone plate having an opening extending from the upper surface to the lower surface. The opening is configured to receive a fastener, which may be either a locking fastener or a compression fastener. The locking fastener has a threaded head portion configured to engage and lock to the bone plate, and the compression fastener is configured to dynamically compress the bone.
MULTI-DIAMETER BONE PIN FOR INSTALLING AND ALIGNING BONE FIXATION PLATE WHILE MINIMIZING BONE DAMAGE
A driving pin can be used for installing a bone plate on a bone. In some examples, the driving pin has a driving pin body extending from a proximal end to a distal end. The driving pin body may define at least three regions of different cross-sectional thickness, including a bone penetrating region adjacent the distal end, a driving region adjacent the proximal end, and a bone plate orienting region between the bone penetrating region and the driving region. In general, the bone penetrating region has a smaller cross-sectional thickness than the bone plate orienting region and the bone plate orienting region has a smaller cross-sectional thickness than the driving region. The bone plate orienting region may be sized to conform to the size of a fixation hole extending through bone plate.
Bi-directional fixating transvertebral body screws and posterior cervical and lumbar interarticulating joint calibrated stapling devices for spinal fusion
A tool assembly includes a universal, intervertebral bone fusion spacer for insertion into a disc space between a first vertebral body and a second vertebral body and fusion of the first vertebral body to the second vertebral body via biological bone fusion and screw fusion, and a tool for manipulating and inserting the universal, intervertebral bone fusion spacer into the disc space between the first vertebral body and the second vertebral body to provide fusion of the first vertebral body to the second vertebral body via biological bone fusion and screw fusion.
Spinal plate
Spinal plates with additional features to improve the stability of the interface between the plate and the underlying bone. A bone plate may include one or more sharp ridges along the periphery of its underside. When attached to bone, the ridge digs into the bone and increases stability. A bone plate may alternatively or additionally include one or more holes for optional spikes, which may be inserted once the plate is attached to the bone. By separating the spikes and including them as an optional component, the plate may enhance stability while reducing or eliminating the chance of the spike injuring the patient. Furthermore, bone screws may incorporate alternating notches and ridges into the head of the screw. The notches and ridges may interface with a set screw, thereby preventing rotation and loosening of the screw.
Surgical staple and instrument for holding and implanting the surgical staple
A surgical staple insertion system for compressing bone fragments includes a staple and an insertion tool. The staple has first and second legs and an elastically deformable bridge monolithically formed with the first and second legs. In a relaxed configuration, the free ends of the first and second legs are positioned closer to one another than are portions of the first and second legs connected to the bridge. The insertion tool retains the bridge in an elastically deformed configuration with the legs positioned relatively farther apart from one another during at least portion of the step of implantation of the staple. Then, the insertion tool is released from the staple so that the bone fragments between the legs are subject to compression.
BONE FIXATION DEVICES
There is a fixation device for promoting fusion and/or osteosynthesis of a first bone segment and a second bone segment, comprising a bone plate portion including an outer surface, an inner surface and at least one fixation aperture extending from the outer surface to the inner surface and a bone wedge portion extending from the plate portion at a first end and a free opposite end, the bone wedge portion comprising a porous architecture configured to promote bone ingrowth, the wedge portion defining first and second engagement surfaces for engaging the first bone segment and a second bone segment, respectively. There is also a method of manufacturing a fixation device for promoting fusion and/or osteosynthesis of a first bone segment and a second bone segment, a method of promoting fusion and/or osteosynthesis of a first bone segment and a second bone segment, and a fixation kit.
Bone Plate For Attaching To An Anatomic Structure
A plate for attaching to an anatomic structure with fasteners. The plate has a body with a top surface and a bottom surface opposite the top surface. The body defines one or more openings to receive a respective one of the one or more fasteners. The bottom surface is concave to define a space to accommodate a portion of the anatomic structure. A bone pad surface extends from the bottom surface. A spike extends away from the bone pad surface. An extension arm can be coupled to the plate and the extension arm can support a tracking head to implement a surgical tracking assembly.
