JOINT DISLOCATION REDUCTION DEVICE AND METHOD USING THE SAME
20230038147 · 2023-02-09 ·

A joint dislocation reduction device includes an elongated flexible ribbon-like band extending along a central axis from a proximal end to a tapered distal end. A distal end coupling element is disposed at the distal end. A proximal end coupling element is disposed at the proximal end. A cord extends from the tapered distal end to a needle. In a form, the band includes a flexible metallic ribbon disposed within a surrounding flexible, insulating coating element, wherein the band includes one or more resilient shape-memory regions between the proximal and distal ends. With the band under applied axial tension, the proximal end and distal end coupling elements are adapted to form a coupling assembly coupling the proximal and distal ends, forming a closed loop around a clavicle and a coracoid process with a single 180° twist, whereby the band rests flush against the clavicle and the coracoid process.

BONE REPAIR DEVICES AND METHODS

A plate assembly for stabilizing a bone is provided. The plate assembly includes a fixation plate having rails that form a window. The plate assembly includes a band having a tail and a head. The head defines an internal cavity configured to receive a portion of the tail. The fixation plate is configured to be positioned proximate to a bone. The head is configured to be at least partially received within the window. Further, the band is configured to be wrapped around the fixation plate and the bone, and the internal cavity of the head is configured to receive an end of the tail to form a loop. The band is configured to receive a tension force to tighten the loop formed by the band. The band may passively engage the fixation plate so that bands may be easily removed from windows when no tension is applied to the band.

Surgical instrument and method

A surgical instrument includes a member including a body engageable with a longitudinal element to fix the longitudinal element with the body. The member further includes a distal portion having a guide including an arcuate surface being engageable with the longitudinal element. An actuator is connected with the member to incrementally tension the longitudinal element. Surgical systems, implants, spinal constructs and methods are disclosed.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR CONSTRAINT OF SPINOUS PROCESSES WITH ATTACHMENT

Spinal implants for limiting flexion of the spine are implanted between a superior spinous process and an inferior spinous process or sacrum. The implants include upper straps which are placed over the upper spinous process, while the lower portions of the implant are attached to the adjacent vertebra or sacrum. The attachments may be fixed, for example using screws or other anchors, or may be non-fixed, for example by placing a loop strap through a hole in the spinous process or sacrum.

PEDICLE ANCHOR FOR USE IN TRANSLAMINAR PEDICLE ANCHOR SUSPENSION SYSTEM AND COMPONENT SET THEREOF
20230070201 · 2023-03-09 ·

A two-piece suspension pedicle anchor and its system and component-set is disclosed. The two-piece suspension pedicle anchor comprises a proximal piece and a distal piece that can rotate relatively. An external thread is arranged on the outer surface of the proximal piece, and a transverse through hole for an artificial ligament to pass through is arranged at the distal piece. As the two-piece suspension pedicle anchor is rotated and gradually locked into the bone, only the proximal piece is rotated, and the distal piece with the artificial ligament is pushed down but not rotated; in addition, the artificial ligament will be brought into the bone along with the distal piece and sandwiched between the outer surface of the proximal piece and the bone, that is, the artificial ligament will be sandwiched and fixed between the anchor-bone interface without wrapping around the outer surface of the proximal piece.

Surgical instrument and method

A surgical instrument comprises a first member including a lateral projection having a locking surface that defines an elongated cavity. The locking surface is engageable with a longitudinal member to fix the longitudinal member with the first member. A second member includes at least one mating element being engageable with a spinal construct. The first member is axially translatable relative to the second member in a first direction to tension the longitudinal member and in a second direction to release tension from the longitudinal member. Systems and methods are disclosed.

Implant for bone fixation

Disclosed herein is an implant for bone fixation comprising an elongated member configured to be wound around bone parts that are to be fixed, an engagement member coupled to the elongated member and configured to engage a portion of the elongated member so as to secure the implant in a loop around the bone parts, and a fastening member arranged between and coupled to the elongated member and the engagement member. The fastening member comprises at least two separate pieces each comprising one opening for receiving a bone fastener, wherein the separate pieces are coupled to each other by a material having a lower material strength than a material from which the separate pieces are made.

A calcaneal fracture fixation and reduction apparatus.

METHODS AND SYSTEMS FOR LATERALLY STABILIZED CONSTRAINT OF SPINOUS PROCESSES

A spinal implant for limiting flexion of the spine includes a tether structure for encircling adjacent spinal processes. Usually, a pair of compliance members will be provided as part of the tether structure for elastically limiting flexion while permitting an extension. A cross-member is provided between the compliance member or other portions of the tether structure to stabilize the tether structure and prevent misalignment after implantation.
