Laser type fixation member securement device and activation system, and related system and methods
A laser device having a proximal end and a distal end spaced from the proximal end, the distal end configured to receive a fixation member to be affixed to a target surgical site. The laser device includes a laser source supported by the laser device body and capable of emitting a laser beam to the distal end, wherein the laser source is responsive to at least one input so as to selectively switch between an inactive configuration whereby the laser source does not emit the laser beam, and an active configuration whereby the laser source emits the laser beam.
Surgical screw
A surgical screw configured to expand and prevent or minimize bone growth inside of the surgical screw is provided. Accordingly, the surgical screw is configured to increase the purchase of the surgical screw with respect to the bone, but also to be withdrawn from the bone without damaging the bone as a result of bone ingrowth. The surgical screw includes a center post with an inner bore and an outer sleeve concentric to the center post. An outer surface of the outer sleeve includes a thread to engage bone. The outer sleeve includes a cut pattern defining an expandable region configurable between a first state with a first radius measured from a longitudinal axis of the surgical screw to the outer surface and a second state having a second radius measured from the longitudinal axis to the outer surface.

Device for osteosyntheses or arthrodesis of two-bone parts, in particular of the hand and/or foot
In one embodiment, the present invention is a method of arthrodesis or osteosyntheses of a first bone part and a second bone part, including the steps of positioning a first fixation zone of an implant in the first bone part and a second fixation zone of the implant in the second bone part, both the first and second zones made of shape-memory material and, prior to positioning the bone parts, are in an inner position; and while the first fixation zone is within the first bone part and the second fixation zone is within the second bone part, fixating the respective first and second fixation zones within the respective bone parts through shape-memory action at body temperature.
CLAW-SHAPED PEDICLE SCREW FASTENER FOR OSTEOPOROSIS
The disclosure discloses a claw-shaped pedicle screw fastener for osteoporosis, including an inner screw plug and an outer screw; the outer screw includes an outer nut and an outer screw stem, a through hole is defined in and penetrates through the outer nut and the outer screw stem, the outer screw stem has a thread segment, a claw-shaped segment, and a conical segment that are provided on outside of the outer screw stem; the claw-shaped segment is made of deformable metal; the inner screw plug includes an inner nut and an inner screw stem, the inner screw stem is inserted into the through hole, and the inner screw stem is threadedly connected to the first inner thread and the second inner thread; the inner screw stem and the second inner thread are reverse thread screws relative to each other.
Compression fixation system
A compression fastener system includes an elongate generally rigid coupling component, a toggle anchor at the distal end of the coupling component that can pivot about 90 degrees between inline and out of line with the coupling component, and a generally cylindrical collet that is engageable with a surface of the coupling component, and having two or more legs that splay upon passage of the coupling component through the collet, at least one leg having a cutting edge along at least a portion of its length that can engage with an adjacent rigid element, such as bone, to fix the rigid coupling component, toggle anchor and collet assembly into compression with the rigid element.
Systems and methods for orthopedic repair
According to some embodiments, an implant for correcting a deformity in or near a joint of a subject includes an implant body having an internal lumen, a suture side hole or window extending through a wall of the implant body and providing access to the internal lumen through an exterior of the implant body, a tension assembly comprising a first bone anchor and a second bone anchor, wherein the first and second bone anchors are configured to be placed on opposite sides of the implant body, and an adjustable suture loop coupling the first bone anchor to the second bone anchor, wherein at least a portion of the at least one adjustable suture loop is positioned within the internal lumen of the implant body.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REPAIRING A LIGAMENT
A surgical kit for repairing a damaged ligament includes a first anchor configured to be secured to a first bone during a surgical procedure to repair the damaged ligament. Suture tape is pre-attached to the first anchor prior to the surgical procedure and extends from the first anchor to a free end. The suture tape is configured to extend over the damaged ligament.
Apparatus, systems, and methods for the fixation or fusion of bone
Assemblies of one or more implant structures make possible the achievement of diverse interventions involving the fusion and/or stabilization of the SI-joint and/or lumbar and sacral vertebra in a non-invasive manner, with minimal incision, and without the necessitating the removing the intervertebral disc. The representative lumbar spine interventions, which can be performed on adults or children, include, but are not limited to, SI-joint fusion or fixation; lumbar interbody fusion; translaminar lumbar fusion; lumbar facet fusion; trans-iliac lumbar fusion; and the stabilization of a spondylolisthesis.
Apparatus for immobilization and fusion of a synovial joint
Methods and apparatus for immobilizing a synovial joint, such as a sacroiliac (SI) joint are disclosed. In one form, a multipiece fixation device, such as a dowel, includes multiple expandable fasteners that are configured to fix adjacent bones of a synovial joint with respect to one another. The expandable fasteners include expansion portions that are expanded radially via insertion of another expandable fastener or an expansion device to fix the expandable fasteners to the bone. The fixation device may be configured to provide for compression or distraction of the bones of the synovial joint while at the same time stabilizing the joint.
