Fusion device
A fusion device assembly for fusion of a joint, including a fusion device, including a distal end, a proximal end, a radially outward facing surface including threading, a bore extending from the proximal end, at least one flute arranged proximate the distal end, and at least one aperture arranged adjacent to the at least one flute, and a reversibly connected hollow drive shaft for insertion of said device which, in a some embodiments, is hollow to allow addition of supplementary bone graft materials or products, should this be desired, without altering the position of the deployed device.
ACTIVE TENSION BONE AND JOINT STABILIZATION METHODS
Methods of use for bone and joint stabilization devices are described in which the devices are tensioned after anchoring during a medical procedure and remain active in maintaining axial tension for continued compression of the subject anatomy.
System and method for joining boney structures
Disclosed are system and methods that use at least one non-threaded anchor and an implant with at least one aperture to join boney structures, where the interaction of the head of the anchor with the implant aperture causes the anchor to move transversely with respect to an initial trajectory. This movement causes compression or distraction of the boney structures which are coupled to the anchors.
EXPANDABLE BONE CORE FOR PEDICLE SCREW FIXATION
Pedicle bone anchor implants, assemblies, and methods thereof. The implant may include an expandable anchor having a body with expandable sections separated by one or more expansion joints, a plurality of expandable teeth, or an expandable head. The expandable anchor has a collapsed configuration and an expanded configuration, thereby creating a press-fit in adjacent bone.
Stiff guide wire with anchoring configuration
A device (10) which serves as a stiff guide wire for surgical procedures includes a tube (12) having an internal channel, and a central rod (14) in close-fitting sliding engagement within the tube. The tips of the tube and the central rod are in rigid mechanical engagement or interconnection. A region of the tube (112) is longitudinally slotted to form deflectable strips (18) so that advancing of the tube (12) relative to central the rod (14) causes outward deflection of the strips (18) to form an anchoring configuration. The central rod (14) and the tube (12) together define a stiff guide wire preferably having a length-to-width ratio in excess of 100:1.
Sacroiliac joint stabilization and fixation devices and related methods
An anchor device for use in sacroiliac joint stabilization comprises a housing having one or more apertures; one or more engagement members at least partially disposed in the housing, where at least one of the one or more engagement members is movable between a retracted position and an extended position such that, when in the extended position, the at least one of the one or more engagement members extends through at least one of the one or more apertures; wherein, when in the extended position, the at least one of the one or more engagement members is configured to move to the extended position within cancellous bone of a sacrum; and wherein the anchor device comprises a continuous channel extending from a first end of the anchor device to a second end of the anchor device, the channel being configured to receive a guidewire.
BLADE-LIKE OSTEOSYNTHESIS DEVICE
An osteosynthesis device for the fixation of bone components and bone fragments is disclosed including a bone anchor having a shaft which extends along a central axis and thereby defines a distal and a proximal direction, and includes at least one blade area with a first and a second wing, and proximally adjoins a neck area and further has a head with at least one spherical segment, and the bone anchor has a central and continuous cannula opening with a diameter. The blade area at least one window with an opening width is provided. The window interacts with the cannula opening, and the head area has an opening with an opening diameter, which also interacts with the cannula opening. The diameter of the cannula opening is smaller than the opening width of the window and the diameter of the cannula opening is also smaller than the opening diameter at the head and the shaft is formed in one piece with the blade area, the neck area and the head with spherical segment.
Bone screw with internal extendable tang
The bone screw with internal extendable is a bone screw with an internal, extendable tang. The tang—part of a tang system—is concealed within the body of the screw until after placement. After the screw is threaded into the bone, the internal tang system is pushed out of the bone screw body, forcing one or more tangs to extend out of the body and into the bone. A driver allows the user to control the different steps of insertion, including converting rotational motion of a knob into linear motion of a rod, the rod moving through the screw body to force the tang to exit the bone screw body. The one or more tangs preferably exit the bone screw body at a tang exit portal formed by one or more tang exit guide surfaces.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR REPAIRING A LIGAMENT
A surgical kit for repairing a damaged ligament includes a first anchor configured to be secured to a first bone during a surgical procedure to repair the damaged ligament. Suture tape is pre-attached to the first anchor. A second anchor is configured to secure a free end of the suture tape to a second bone adjacent the first bone during the surgical procedure.
