Variable angle locking construct for orthopedic applications
An embodiment includes a bone fixation system comprising: a bone anchor with a tapered head, the head being threaded; and a plate that includes a void, the void including one of a counterbore or a countersink; wherein: (a) no portion of the void is threaded; (b) the void includes an inner wall; (c) the inner wall includes reliefs along its perimeter. Other embodiments are described herein.
Quick lock clamp constructs and associated methods
Disclosed implants may include a first implant receiver and a second implant receiver each having an upper portion and a lower portion connected together by an arm portion, for example. In various embodiments, the upper and lower portions may define a longitudinal passageway extending through the upper and lower portions in a longitudinal direction of each implant receiver, and the arm portions may each define a rod passageway extending in a lateral direction, for example. In various embodiments, each receiver may include a crown having an outside thread pattern threadably engaged within the longitudinal passageway and for mating with a corresponding nut having a similar interior thread pattern. In various embodiments, a rod may extend in the lateral direction through the rod passageways In various embodiments, in a non-tightened position, the rod may freely move and in a tightened position, the arms constrain the rod from moving.
Intramedullary stabilization screw
A bone screw for intramedullary fixation of hand or foot bones comprises three sections of a threaded distal portion, a threaded center portion and a threaded proximal portion. The threaded distal portion comprises a first full thread with a first constant diameter and a first constant pitch throughout the threaded distal portion, wherein an open end of the threaded distal portion forms a leading end of the bone screw. The threaded center portion comprises a second full thread with a second constant diameter and a second constant pitch throughout the threaded center portion, wherein the second constant diameter is the same as the first constant diameter, and the second constant pitch is smaller than the first constant pitch. The threaded proximal portion comprises a third full thread with a third constant diameter and a third constant pitch throughout the threaded proximal portion.
COMPOSITIONS AND METHODS FOR INHIBITION AND INTERRUPTION OF BIOFILM FORMATION
Compositions and methods for inhibiting and interrupting biofilm formation, and for destabilizing established biofilms are provided, the novel compositions including polymeric resins and monomeric non-polymerizable and polymerizable resins. More particularly, the compositions and methods enable the protection and removal of biofilms from surfaces in the context of medical, consumer, domestic, food service, environmental and industrial applications, where the effects constitute beneficial and desirable biofilm attenuating activity.

Individual packaging arrangement for orthopedic tools
A protective member for a medical instrument includes a body portion having an inner side wall defining an interior, configured to receive at least a portion of the medical instrument. The body portion also includes a first end and a second end, wherein at least one of the first end and the second end is configured to at least partially close the respective first end and/or second end of the body portion. The at least partially closed first end and/or second end is configured to be opened for use of the medical instrument, such that the medical instrument can pass through both the first and second ends of the body portion during use, while the inner side wall surrounds a portion of the medical instrument. The body portion is configured for use during a medical procedure using the medical instrument, for example, as a tissue protector or a drilling guide.
Modular medical implant allowing a targeted injection
A modular medical implant allowing the targeted injection of a liquid or pasty material into a bone cavity. This implant is produced with four types of modules provided with a lumen and of variable lengths, including: either a male securing principle, referred to as proximal modules, or a female securing principle, referred to as distal modules, or a male securing principle and a female securing principle, referred to as intermediate modules and perforated intermediate modules, that can be secured in a predetermined order and number in order to position the perforated intermediate modules at suitable levels to allow an injection product to be conveyed to and diffused at the targeted locations, via the perforations, while producing the required length of the implant. The implant is intended, in general, for surgical operations and, in particular, for interventional radiology.
Bone screws, instrumentation, and methods of using of same
A stylet control system for selectively advancing and retracting a stylet includes a stylet having a first end and a second end, the second end being threaded, a screwdriver defining a bore for receiving a portion of the stylet and having a screw-engaging end for engaging a screw, the stylet being rotationally fixed relative to the screwdriver. The system includes a control device having a passage for receiving the screwdriver and having an inner portion defining a lumen for receiving the portion of the stylet, the inner portion being threaded for engaging the threaded second end of the stylet, when the screwdriver is rotated in the first rotation direction and the control device is prevented from rotating, the screwdriver advances the screw in the first axial direction and the stylet retracts in a second axial direction, opposite the first axial direction.
Bone fastener and driver with retaining features
A bone fastener driver assembly with a bone fastener retention feature has an outer sleeve, a handle fixed to said outer sleeve and an inner shaft. The inner shaft has a distal end with a torque driving tip. The inner shaft is coupled to the handle and axially movable relative to the outer sleeve from a proximal disengaged position to a distal engaged position. The outer sleeve has a bone fastener retaining distal end configured to lock into an internal groove or undercut of a bone fastener screw head when the inner shaft is axially moved from the proximal disengaged position to the distal engaged position to lock the bone fastener to the driver and upon a return movement of the inner shaft to the proximal disengaged position to unlock and release the driver from the bone fastener screw head.
Bone Screws
A bone screw includes a screw body having a head at one end of the screw and a tip at an opposite end of the screw; head threads directly attached to the screw body and continuous around the head of the screw; tip threads directly attached to the screw body and continuous around the tip of the screw; and overhanging thread portions between the head threads and the tip threads, the overhanging thread portions spaced apart, with unthreaded channels between the overhanging thread portions and the overhanging thread portions overhanging a portion of the unthreaded channels.
