SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR TREATING CANCER AND/OR AUGMENTING ORGAN FUNCTION
Systems, methods and devices for controlled sympathectomy procedures for neuromodulation in the treatment of subjects having neoplastic conditions are disclosed. Systems, methods, and devices for interventionally treating a cancerous tumor and cancer related pain are disclosed.
Handheld dissector
A handheld dissector includes a handle including an elongated cuff disposed at a distal end thereof. The elongated cuff defines an opening extending therethrough configured to receive a tissue specimen. The elongated cuff includes a proximal end including a cavity defined therein configured to receive a crimp ring configured to support a plurality of insulative tubes along an inner peripheral surface thereof. Each tube is configured to insulate a wire disposed therein and configured to extend from a distal end thereof. The crimp ring electrically couples to each wire. The dissector also includes a distal end configured to receive a return ring. An active lead operably couples to the crimp ring and a return lead operably couples to the return ring. An activation switch selectively energizes the dissector.
ARTHROSCOPIC DEVICES AND METHODS
A medical device includes an elongated sleeve having a longitudinal axis, a proximal end and a distal end. A cutting member having a plurality of sharp edges is formed from a wear-resistant ceramic material is carried at the distal end of the elongated sleeve. A motor drive is coupled to the proximal end of the elongated sleeve to rotate the sleeve at cutting member at high RPMs to cut bone and other hard tissue. An electrode is carried in a distal portion of ceramic cutting member for RF ablation of tissue when the sleeve and cutting member are is a stationary position. In methods of use, (i) the ceramic member can be engaged against bone and then rotated at high speed to cut bone tissue, and (ii) the ceramic member can be held in a stationary (non-rotating) position to engage tissue and RF energy can be delivered to the electrode to create a plasma that ablates tissue.
STABILIZED ABLATION SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Surgical systems and methods for administering an ablation treatment and other therapeutic or diagnostic protocols to a patient tissue involve a flexible stabilizer mechanism having an inner recess and an ablation mechanism coupled with the stabilizer mechanism.
TISSUE EXTRACTION DEVICES AND METHODS
A tissue resection device comprises inner and outer coaxial sleeves. The outer sleeve has a cutting window formed therein, and the inner sleeve has a distal cutting end that can be reciprocated past the cutting window. The sleeves comprise electrodes to provide electrosurgical cutting, and an edge portion of the window includes a dielectric material.
SURGICAL TOOL WITH PROXIMAL THERMOCOUPLE
A surgical tool according to at least one embodiment of the present disclosure includes a proximal end; and a distal end, the distal end including a first electrode; a second electrode different from the first electrode; and a thermal bridge that is disposed between the first electrode and the second electrode and that electrically isolates the first electrode from the second electrode.
ABLATION DEVICES AND METHODS OF USE
Methods and devices described herein facilitate improved treatment of body organs.
Method for removing a tissue lesion
A method for removing a tissue lesion where an anchor is established with the lesion. A channel is created in the tissue leading to the anchored lesion. A tissue core is created which includes the lesion. The tissue core is ligated, amputated and removed from the channel.
Electrosurgical instrument with variable control mechanisms
A surgical instrument comprising a motor assembly, a shaft defining a shaft axis, a distal head, a rotary drive member, and a distal head lock member movable between a first position where the distal head is unlocked from the shaft and a second position where the distal head is locked to the shaft is disclosed. The motor assembly comprises a motor and a controller configured to operate the motor in first and second operating modes. The distal head comprises an end effector movable between an open configuration and a closed configuration. The distal head is rotated about the shaft axis when the distal head lock member is in the first position and the rotary drive member is actuated. The end effector is moved from the open configuration toward the closed configuration when the distal head lock member is in the second position and the rotary drive member is actuated.
TISSUE EXTRACTION DEVICES AND METHODS
The tissue cutting device comprises an elongated assembly including both an outer sleeve and an inner sleeve. The outer sleeve has a tissue-receiving window, and the inner sleeve has a distal end which cuts tissue as the inner sleeve is advanced past the window. The tissue is received into a lumen of the inner sleeve, and the inner sleeve lumen is typically enlarged in a proximal direction to reduce the tendency of resected tissue to lodge therein. The tissue displacement member is optionally provided at a distal end of the outer sleeve to further aid in dislodging tissue which becomes captured in a distal end of the inner sleeve of the lumen.
