Electrosurgical electrode and method of manufacturing same
An electrosurgical device coated an epoxy modified rigid silicone powder coating. This coating is applied to the surfaces of an electrosurgical device minimize the build-up of charred tissue (i.e., eschar) on the surfaces of the electrosurgical device.
SELECTIVE LUNG TISSUE ABLATION
Medical methods and systems are provided for effecting lung volume reduction by selectively ablating segments of lung tissue.
PERICARDIAL MODIFICATION DEVICES AND METHODS
Devices and methods are described for the treatment of heart conditions such as heart failure with preserved ejection fraction, including diastolic heart failure, by performing a pericardial modification procedure. Intraoperative test procedures for assessing the efficacy of the pericardial modification procedure are also described.
IMPEDANCE-CALIBRATED DIAGNOSTIC MEDICAL DEVICES
Various embodiments set forth medical devices. In some embodiments, the medical device includes an impedance bridge, an instrument head that includes one or more electrode pairs and a calibration impedance, and one or more wire pairs that couple the impedance bridge to the one or more electrode pairs and the calibration impedance. The disclosed medical devices compensate for impedance caused by extraneous factors arising from manufacturing and materials variances while measuring the impedance of tissue.
THORACOSCOPIC METHODS FOR TREATMENT OF BRONCHIAL DISEASE
A method and apparatus for treatment of pulmonary conditions, including a device having an end effector sized and shaped to contact a nerve component on the exterior of a bronchial segment and apply energy to that nerve component.
Methods and Devices for Puncturing Tissue
Novel and unique medical devices and associated methods are disclosed, for a medical device for puncturing tissue at a tissue site. The medical device is an elongate member having a proximal section, a distal section, and a rail section therebetween. The medical device includes an active tip at a distal end of the distal section and is operable to deliver energy to create a puncture through the tissue. The rail section is configured to both act as a rail for supporting installation of one or more tubular members thereupon, as well as be maneuverable for enabling access to the tissue site.
Electrically enhanced retrieval of material from vessel lumens
Retrieval of material from vessel lumens can be improved by electrically enhancing attachment of the material to a medical device. The device can include an elongate core member having a distal portion configured to be intravascularly positioned at a treatment site within a blood vessel lumen, and an interventional element connected to the distal portion of the elongate core member. The interventional element includes a body that is expandable from a first configuration to a second configuration and an electrically conductive radiopaque marker coupled to the body. An electrically conductive lead has a distal portion electrically coupled to the radiopaque marker and a proximal portion configured to be electrically coupled to a current source.
ELECTRODE CATHETER SYSTEM
The present application provides an electrode catheter system, comprising an interventional catheter for intervening to one side of an artery blood vessel and provided with an electrode element that can release an electrical signal toward an inner wall of a renal artery blood vessel; a pressure sensor for intervening to an artery blood vessel; and a data processing module, connected with the pressure sensor. The electrode element releases an electrical signal toward the inner wall of the renal artery vessel, and then the pressure sensor monitors a blood pressure change in the renal artery vessel at the other side. A data processing module processes the data monitored by the pressure sensor and determines the blood pressure change, and an activity degree of the nerve can be determined by measuring a signal such as the blood pressure of the human body, so as to screen out the patients with an overactive sympathetic nerve, and a surgical effect of a denervation surgery can also be evaluated before or after the surgery, and can be used to determine whether to perform an ultrasonic ablation again.
PULMONARY ARTERIAL HYPERTENSION CATHETERS
Disclosed herein are devices and methods for creating a shunt between two vessels or lumens within a patient. While these devices and methods are generally described with regard to treatment of hypertension (e.g., pulmonary arterial hypertension) and/or right heart failure/disfunction, they can be used with a variety of different vessels and lumens for other purposes. The devices include puncturing guidewire embodiments that can more accurately pierce two vessels, as well as snare catheter designs that can prevent unwanted damage from a puncturing guidewire.
Arthroscopic devices and methods
An electrosurgical probe includes an elongated shaft assembly having a proximal end, a distal end, and a longitudinal axis. A distal housing is mounted on the distal end of the shaft and optionally includes a laterally open window where a plane of the window is generally perpendicular to the longitudinal axis of the shaft. An interior channel extends axially through the shaft and further through an interior of the housing to the window in the housing. An electrode member with a serrated or other elongated edge may extend longitudinally across the window and may be configured to reciprocate the elongated edge longitudinally relative to the window.
