TREATMENT TOOL, ENDOSCOPE DEVICE, ENDOSCOPE SYSTEM, AND TREATMENT METHOD
An endoscope treatment tool includes an insertion part that is insertable into a first treatment tool channel of an endoscope of an endoscope system, an operation part, and a single operation wire pulled through operation of the operation part. The insertion part includes a distal end portion that has an openable and closable grip portion, a bending portion that is able to be bent, and a connecting-portion that connects the bending portion to the operation part. The connecting-portion is moved forward and backward along a longitudinal axis of the connecting-portion and is rotated about the longitudinal axis. As the connecting-portion is moved forward and backward or is rotated, the grip portion moves forward and backward or rotates, through the operation of the operation part. As the operation wire is pulled, the grip portion is closed, and the bending portion bends in a state where the grip portion is closed.
End Effector
An end effector has three degrees of freedom in operation: (1) opening and closing of the jaws, (2) adjustable pivoting of the jaws relative to the longitudinal axis, and (3) rotation of the jaw assembly, regardless of its articulation, about the longitudinal axis. A split yoke assembly is coupled to rotatable jaw mounts, which in turn are coupled to the jaws. A pushrod is configured to open and close the jaws, and a translatable line, which may be implemented by a set of cables or by an additional pushrod, is configured to cause pivoting of the jaws.
Electrosurgical Sealer and Divider
An electrosurgical instrument has a movable tissue cutting mechanism, a shaft housing at least a portion of the movable tissue cutting mechanism, and a pair of opposing jaws rotatable relative to the shaft. Each jaw has an electrically conductive core member, a slot for receiving the cutting mechanism, and a sealing surface. A pin is coupled to the shaft and the jaws. The pin passes through the jaws and the cutting mechanism. A first link is rotatably coupled to the first jaw and a rod. The rod is interior of and translatable relative to the shaft. Each jaw has a coating made of a substantially non-conductive material covering a portion of the conductive core member but exposing the seal surface, whereby the coating limits an energy path from the respective conductive medium to the respective seal surface.
Coating for applicators in electrosurgery
A method of applying at least one coating of at least one electrically insulating polymer to an applicator for currents, especially HF currents in surgery, the coating is produced by electrophoretic deposition from a suspension of the polymer in at least one organic solvent, wherein the applicators thus coated are especially clamps, pairs of tweezers or pairs of scissors which are used in the bipolar application technique of HF surgery. Polymers used are especially thermoplastic polymers, such as thermoplastic fluoropolymers, and more particularly polychlorotrifluoroethylene (PCTFE) or ethylene chlorotrifluoroethylene (ECTFE).
REUSABLE MINIMALLY INVASIVE SURGICAL INSTRUMENT
A reusable tip for minimally invasive surgical instruments can include an end effector, a two-part hub, and a yoke. The end effector can include one or more movable portions enabling the end effector to move between first (e.g., open) and second (e.g., closed) positions via manipulation of the yoke within the hub. The hub can include a proximal hub and a distal hub coupled together. The end effector can be coupled to the distal hub, which can be made of a metal to provide high strength and secure shape to the distal hub. The proximal hub can be made of an autoclavable insulation material capable of maintaining a removable coupling with a control shaft. The proximal hub can be made of polyetheretherketone (PEEK).
Electrically-powered surgical systems
Surgical systems and methods are provided for controlling actuation and movement of various surgical devices.
Surgical instruments comprising a system for articulation and rotation compensation
A surgical instrument is disclosed comprising a shaft and an end effector rotatably connected to the shaft about an articulation joint. The surgical instrument comprises a plurality of rotation joints which can be simultaneously operated to maintain the alignment of a portion of the surgical instrument relative to the patient tissue.
Electrosurgical sealer and divider
An electrosurgical instrument has a movable tissue cutting mechanism, a first elongated shaft housing at least a proximal portion of the movable tissue cutting mechanism, and a pair of jaws for clamping tissue. Each jaw of the pair of opposing jaws is rotatable relative to the first elongated shaft, and the movable tissue cutting mechanism is slidable relative to the first elongated shaft. A first link has a distal end rotatably coupled to a proximal one of a pair of non-conductive bushings in the first jaw and a proximal end rotatably coupled to a second elongated shaft, the second elongated shaft interior of and translatable relative the first elongated shaft.
ANCILLARY SYSTEM HAVING AN EXHAUST DEVICE FOR SURGERY
An ancillary system for surgery is provided. The ancillary system includes a trocar, a scalpel device and an exhaust device. The scalpel device includes a blade portion and a connecting arm. The exhaust device encapsulates at least a portion of the connecting arm of the scalpel device. The exhaust device is detachable from the scalpel device, and is configured to remove smoke, body fluids or biological tissues generated during a surgery to effectively improve the surgical process.
ELECTROSURGICAL RESECTOR TOOL
An electrosurgical resector tool having an energy delivery structure that provides a plurality of operational modalities that facilitate biological tissue cutting and sealing using radiofrequency (RF) electromagnetic (EM) energy and/or microwave EM energy. The tool comprises a static first blade element, and a pivotable second blade element that has a length commensurate with the first blade element whereby, in a closed position, it lies adjacent to a laterally facing surface of the first blade element. The blade elements constitute an energy delivery mechanisms that is compact enough to enable the tool to be insertable through an instrument channel of a surgical scoping device, such as an endoscope, gastroscope or bronchoscope.
