The system may comprise a set of targeting optics configured to direct the one or more laser beams to a target region of the biological membrane. The system may comprise a raster scanner operatively coupled to the laser unit and the set of targeting optics. The system may comprise a non-transitory computer readable storage medium comprising a set of instructions. The set of instructions may be configured to control at least one of the laser unit, the set of targeting optics, or the raster scanner to photodisrupt the target region of the biological membrane to a target depth while minimizing damage to one or more blood vessels in proximity to the target region.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR LASER-ASSISTED TOPICAL TREATMENT OF NAIL FUNGAL INFECTIONS
Systems and methods for a laser-assisted topical treatment of nail fungal infections are provided. The laser-assisted topical treatment includes a laser that is configured to output a beam that penetrates the infected nail and creates a channel therethrough. The laser-assisted topical treatment further includes a treatment agent comprising a vehicle and a drug. The treatment agent is applied to an exterior surface of the infected nail so that the treatment agent may flow into the channel.
COSMETIC METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR THE TREATMENT OF SKIN TISSUE USING TWO WAVELENGTHS OF LASER ENERGY
A method of treatment of skin tissue with two laser devices of unequal wavelengths comprising the steps of: (1) activating the two laser devices simultaneously to produce two laser beams of unequal wavelength; (2) directing the two laser beams into a handpiece having a distal tip to direct the laser beams onto the skin tissue; (3) directing the two laser beams within the handpiece to an adjustable beam deflector; and, (4) the adjustable beam deflector directing the two laser beams onto the skin tissue to produce a pattern of laser spots simultaneously but separated from one another.
METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR SELECTIVE TREATMENT OF BIOLOGICAL TISSUE
An exemplary treatment system can be provided which can include a laser system configured to emit at least one laser beam, and an optical system configured to focus the laser beam(s) to a focal region at a selected distance from a surface of a tissue. The focal region can be configured to illuminate at least a portion of a target. The optical system can cause an irradiation energy transferred to the focal region of the laser beam(s) to (i) generate a plasma in a first region of the tissue adjacent to the target, and (ii) avoid a generation of a plasma in a second region of the tissue. The optical system has a numerical aperture that is in the range of about 0.5 to about 0.9. An exemplary method can also be provided to control such treatment system.
Method and apparatus for treating dermal melasma
Exemplary methods and devices can be provided for improving the appearance of dermal melasma. This can be done, e.g., focusing electromagnetic radiation having a wavelength between about 600 nm and 850 nm into a region of the pigmented dermal tissue at a depth between about 150 and 400 microns, using a lens arrangement having a large numerical aperture between about 0.5 and 0.9. The exemplary local dwell time of the focused radiation can be less than a few milliseconds, and a local fluence provided in the focal region can be between about 50 and 500 J/cm.sup.2. The focal region can be scanned through the dermal tissue at speeds on the order of a few cm/s. Such parameters can provide sufficient energy absorption by pigmented cells in the dermis to disrupt them while avoiding damage to the overlying tissue and unpigmented dermal tissue.

AESTHETIC METHOD OF BIOLOGICAL STRUCTURE TREATMENT BY MAGNETIC FIELD
In combined methods for treating a patient using time-varying magnetic field, treatment methods combine various approaches for aesthetic treatment. A magnetic field generating device is placed proximate to a body region of the patient. The magnetic field generating device generates a time-varying magnetic field with a magnetic flux density in a range of 0.5 to 7 Tesla. The time-varying magnetic field is applied to the body region of the patient in order to cause a contraction of a muscle within the body region. A second therapy may be used by applying one or more of optical waves, radio frequency waves, mechanical waves, negative or positive pressure or heat to the body region of the patient.
