An intraocular lens (IOL) with a shape-changing optic is provided. The shape-changing optic includes an elastic anterior face located anterior to the equator. The anterior face has an anterior surface, a posterior surface, and a periphery. The shape-changing optic also includes a posterior face having an anterior surface, a posterior surface, and a periphery. An elastic side wall can extend across the equator and extend from the anterior face to the posterior face. A chamber can be located between the anterior face and the posterior face. The IOL can further include at least one haptic extending from the periphery of the anterior face, the periphery of the posterior face, or both.

Tuneable ophthalmic lens

A tuneable contact lens (100), wherein the contact lens comprises a central region (108). The central region has a circumferential wall and an anterior surface having an external curvature. The contact lens also comprises an inflatable ring (106) arranged around the circumferential wall of the central region, and at least one fluid reservoir (104) in fluid connection with the inflatable ring. The at least one fluid reservoir comprises a pump. When fluid is pumped from the at least one fluid reservoir to the inflatable ring, the inflatable ring inflates and the external curvature of anterior portion of the central region is changed.

Accommodating intraocular lenses

Accommodating intraocular lenses including an optic having an anterior element and a posterior element defining an optic fluid chamber, wherein the optic is aspheric across all powers throughout accommodation or disaccommodation. Intraocular lenses, optionally accommodating, where an optic portion is centered with a midline of a height of the peripheral portion, the height measured in the anterior to posterior direction.

Light-adjustable lens illumination system with fovea protection

A light adjustable lens illumination system comprises an illumination source, for generating a light beam; a light delivery system, for projecting the light beam onto a Light Adjustable Lens (LAL), implanted into an eye, wherein a fraction of the light beam propagates past the LAL to a retina of the eye; and a protective beam-shaper, for shaping the light beam to have an intensity pattern with a relative central intensity reduction that varies along an axis; wherein the relative central intensity reduction at the retina is greater than the relative central intensity reduction at a LAL plane.

METHOD FOR PRODUCING AN ACCOMMODATIVE INTRAOCULAR LENS

A method for producing an accommodative intraocular lens includes providing first and second components and a support body with an interior space and open to the top, fastening the first component to the support body, generating pressure which is higher in the exterior space than in the interior space such that the first component deforms downward, producing an adhesive surface on the upper side of the first component and/or on the second component, applying a liquid to the first component from above into the latter's downwardly deformed region, the liquid at no time contacting the adhesive surface, fastening the second component to the first component with the adhesive surface, as a result of which the accommodative intraocular lens is formed and the liquid is encapsulated with the first component and the second component in a cavity arranged in the interior of the intraocular lens.
