An injector system for implanting an intraocular lens into an eye includes an injector body having a front end and a rear end; a cannula arranged at the front end, which provides a transport channel for a lens to be implanted, wherein a lens can be fed into the transport channel; a magazine with a receptacle area for a lens which is securable in the receptacle area with a retainer, wherein the magazine is arranged so that a lens can be fed into the transport channel; a folding body insertable into the magazine and into the inlet opening, for pushing the lens into the transport channel so that the lens is at least partially foldable around the folding body; and a slider arranged in the injector body, and which can be pushed into the transport channel via the front end so that the lens can be ejected from the transport channel.

Viscoelastic applicator for IOL insertion apparatus

A system for preparing an intraocular lens (IOL) injector for receipt of an IOL. A manifold mates with an injector cartridge and easily distributes a lubricating agent to a load chamber of the cartridge. The IOL is then transferred into the load chamber. The cartridge may be rotatably coupled to the handpiece, and then converted from a preparation and load position to a delivery position. The manifold may remain external to the load chamber or fit within the load chamber and include a handle that remains outside. One or more internal channels in the manifold lead from one or more inlet ports to surfaces in the load chamber than contact the IOL.

FLEXIBLE INTRAOCULAR LENS INJECTION DEVICE AND STORAGE SHUTTLE FOR IMPLEMENTING SAME

A storage shuttle for a flexible intraocular lens injection device. The flexible intraocular lens injection device includes a tubular body having a casing and an axial cavity, a barrel arranged at a distal end of the tubular body and having an ejection cavity in communication with the axial cavity of the tubular body, and a housing in the axial cavity of the tubular body. The storage shuttle has a first position and a second position, and comprises a shuttle body having a shuttle cavity for receiving a flexible intraocular lens, an outlet opening, which is configured, in the second position of the storage shuttle, to allow for a communication between the shuttle cavity and the ejection cavity of the barrel, and an inlet opening, which is configured, in the second position of the storage shuttle, to allow for a communication between the shuttle cavity and the axial cavity of the tubular body, and wherein the shuttle body carries a second rotary attachment capable of cooperating with a first rotary attachment carried by the casing of the tubular body.
