SYSTEMS TO AFFIX DEVICES TO INTRAOCULAR LENS ASSEMBLIES AND RELATED METHODS
Embodiments disclosed herein relate to systems and methods for securing a drug delivery component to an intraocular lens (IOL) assembly. The systems generally include a support base and a plunger. The support base includes a first portion configured to accommodate a drug delivery component; and a second portion configured to act as a plunger guide. The plunger can be inserted into the plunger guide such that the plunger is positioned to interface with a drug delivery component and an IOL assembly during use. The plunger includes an elongated body and a tip, wherein the tip can include a ramp configured to interface with a fixation loop of a drug delivery component during use and a compartment configured to interface with a haptic of an IOL assembly during use.
Intraocular lens injector
Apparatuses, systems, and methods for implanting an intraocular lens into an eye are described. For example, an intraocular lens injector may include a passage formed in a distal end portion of the intraocular lens injector. The passage may define an interior surface, and a ramp may be formed on the interior surface so as to cause a leading haptic of an intraocular lens (IOL) being advanced through the passage to lift above a surface of an optic of the IOL to ensure proper folding of the IOL.
HAPTIC MANAGEMENT FOR SURGICAL IMPLANTS
An apparatus that can be used to fold an intraocular lens or other implant before inserting it into an eye in various locations using variable surgical techniques. Some embodiments may comprise or consist essentially of a haptic folding mechanism configured to fold one or more haptics onto the top of an optic prior to the optic being folded into a nozzle. In some embodiments, a leading haptic lifter or lifting mechanism can be configured to raise and constrain a leading haptic during implant delivery. This leading haptic folding mechanism can actively lift the leading haptic onto the top of the optic.
FOLDING DEVICE FOR INTRAOCULAR LENS INJECTOR
Intraocular lens (IOL) folding devices and methods of folding an IOL or components thereof are disclosed.
SURGICAL IMPLANT DELIVERY WITH LOCKABLE PLUNGER
An apparatus for eye surgery comprising a housing comprising a key track, a bore through the housing, a plunger at least partially disposed in the bore, and a plunger key. The plunger may comprise a rail and a keyway, and the plunger key may comprise a key guide coupled to the key track, an arm coupled to the key guide, and a rail slot through the arm. The arm may be disposed through the keyway of the plunger to allow the arm to move along the key track from a first position to a second position. The arm may be configured to block the rail in the first position and to align the rail slot with the rail in the second position so that the rail can move through the rail slot.
IOL injector plunger having IOL compression arms
An IOL injector plunger having IOL compression arms is described.
HAPTIC OPTIC MANAGEMENT SYSTEM UTILIZING ROTATING CAMS
Systems, methods, and devices for inserting an intraocular lens (IOL) into an eye may be provided. An example haptic optic management system may comprise a first cam assembly comprising a first cam body portion, an opening in the first cam body portion, and haptic folder arms disposed in the opening. The haptic optic management system may further comprise a second cam assembly positioned on one side of the first cam assembly, wherein the second cam assembly comprises a second cam body portion, an opening in the second cam body portion, and optic folders disposed in the opening. The haptic optic management system may further comprise a central plate for holding an intraocular lens in the opening of the second cam body portion, wherein the central plate is disposed between the first cam assembly and the second cam assembly.
Intraocular lens insertion device
An intraocular lens insertion device which dramatically reduces the possibility that a plunger damages an intraocular lens, and which can safely and surely insert an intraocular lens into an eye is provided. An intraocular lens insertion unit comprises a lens disposing part for disposing an intraocular lens, a plunger for pushing out the intraocular lens disposed at the lens disposing part, a transition part for deforming the intraocular lens pushed out by the plunger, and a nozzle for ejecting the deformed intraocular lens. The plunger has a lens contact part for contacting the outer edge of the intraocular lens, and a protrusive part for pushing the lens contact part downward the intraocular lens by the deformation of the intraocular lens, both lens contact part and protrusive part are provided at the leading end of the plunger.
