INTRAOCULAR LENS INJECTOR
20220151767 · 2022-05-19 ·

There is provided an intraocular lens injector for improving accuracy of tacking, which is an intraocular lens injector 1 for injecting an intraocular lens 4 into an eye, the intraocular lens including an optical portion 41 having an optical function and support portions 42a and 42b extending from the optical portion 41, including: a protrusion 20 for bending a forward support portion 42a while abutting against the forward support portion 42a, the forward support portion being one of the support portions 42a and 42b and being disposed on the front side in an advancing direction of the intraocular lens, when making the intraocular lens 4 advance along an inner wall of a hollow body in which the intraocular lens 4 is set and thereby releasing the intraocular lens 4 from the hollow body in a state in which the intraocular lens 4 is folded with an inner surface of the optical portion 41 facing inward, wherein the protrusion 20 has a retainer that temporarily suppresses progress of bending of the forward support portion 42a by retaining the forward support portion 42a, when the intraocular lens 4 is being folded.

IOL injectors and associated methods are described. An IOL injector may include a collapsible portion configured to reduce the length of the IOL injector when the collapsible portion is altered from an uncollapsed configuration to a collapsed configuration. In some instances, an IOL may be advanced from a storage location to a dwell location when the collapsible portion is altered from the uncollapsed configuration to the collapsed configuration. An IOL injector may include one or more of a hydraulic damper and a ribbed damper.

Collapsing push injector with hydraulic damping

Systems, methods, and devices for inserting an intraocular lens (IOL) assembly into an eye may be provided. A device for delivery of the IOL into the eye may include a housing; a nozzle operatively coupled to the housing; a first cylinder movably disposed within the housing; a second cylinder movably disposed within the housing, wherein the second cylinder is in fluid communication with the first cylinder; a plunger at least partially and movably disposed within the first cylinder; and a shaft movably disposed within the second cylinder, wherein the shaft is configured to move toward the lens component.

IOL INJECTOR PLUNGER HAVING IOL COMPRESSION ARMS

An IOL injector plunger having IOL compression arms is described.

Atraumatic IOL insertion cartridge opening

This intraocular lens (IOL) injector cartridge has a proximal opening in a main body for receiving an IOL. The main body has a lumen that extends longitudinally to a distal end having an opening smaller than the IOL. Passage through the lumen compresses or rolls the IOL so that when the distal end is inserted through a small incision in the eye the IOL can be expelled into the capsular bag. The distal end of the cartridge is beveled with a leading tip in front of a trailing heel. The characteristics of the beveled end are such that damage to the IOL is reduced. The bevel may be straight or curved and includes a distal face defined by the thickness of the distal end between the lumen and an exterior surface. The distal face may be flush with the bevel or chamfered. An inner corner angle between the distal face and the lumen is ≥60° to reduce the chance of scratching the IOL as it passes out of the distal opening.

REMOVABLE CAP ACTUATION FOR AN INTRAOCULAR LENS CARTRIDGE

Systems, methods, and apparatuses for removably attaching a drive mechanism handpiece to an intraocular lens (IOL) cartridge that folds the IOL upon removal of a cap, are provided. The IOL cartridge comprises a nozzle and a housing comprising a slide. A compartment configured to receive an IOL is disposed within the housing. An interior portion of the slide is exposed to the compartment. The nozzle is in fluid communication with the compartment. The cap covers the nozzle and the slide. The cap is configured to expose the nozzle and advance the slide to fold the IOL upon removal of the cap.

INTRAOCULAR LENS IMPLANTER AND PRELOADED TYPE INTRAOCULAR LENS IMPLANTATION DEVICE

An intraocular lens implanter and a preloaded type intraocular lens implantation device, which can improve the operational reliability of the injection member so as to improve the operational reliability of rolling or folding of the intraocular lens in an expected direction. In the intraocular lens implanter the inner cavity of the implantation head is provided with a guide portion, where the guide portion has a shape approaching the movement route of the push pin from rear to front, so that the push pin can push the movable piece of the pressing plate on the guide portion, and the movable piece applies downward force to the push pin in turn, thereby the push pin performs the injection operation under the state that the head portion of the push pin keeps in contact with the lower surface of the inner cavity of the implantation head.
