Lever-actuated drive
Systems, methods, and devices for inserting an intraocular lens (IOL) assembly into an eye may be provided. An apparatus for delivery of a lens component into an eye, including: a nozzle; a housing, wherein the nozzle is operatively coupled to the housing; a first lever; a second lever; and a linkage assembly. The linkage assembly may be disposed within the housing between and adjacent to the first and second levers. The linkage assembly may include a plurality of linkages pivotably coupled to each other, wherein the linkage assembly is collapsible.
INTRAOCULAR LENS PLATFORM HAVING IMPROVED HAPTIC FORCE DISTRIBUTION
An ophthalmic lens includes an optic comprising an anterior surface, a posterior surface, and an optic edge extending between the anterior surface and the posterior surface, the optic having an optical axis. The ophthalmic lens further includes a plurality of haptics extending from a periphery of the optic, each of the plurality of haptics including a gusset region, a distal region, and an elbow region connecting the gusset region to the distal region. The gusset region of each of the plurality of haptics extends from the periphery of the optic and spans a portion of the periphery of the optic. In addition, the gusset region of each of the plurality of haptics monotonically increases in thickness with increased distance from the periphery of the optic, while the distal region of each of the plurality of haptics monotonically decreases in thickness with increased distance from the elbow region.
FLUOROSILICONE COPOLYMERS
Described herein, inter alia, are fluorosilicone polymers and copolymers; compositions comprising fluorosilicone polymers and copolymers; lenses, such as intraocular lenses, comprising fluorosilicone polymers and copolymers; and processes for making the fluorosilicone polymers and copolymers.
Artificial eye lens having medicine repository formed therein, and method for producing an artificial eye lens
The invention relates to an artificial eye lens comprising an optical part, which has a first optical side as viewed in a direction of an optical principal axis of the artificial eye lens and an opposite second optical side, wherein a structure with at least one depression is formed in a haptic arrangement of the artificial eye lens and/or in a surround that surrounds the optical part at least in certain areas and that differs from the haptic arrangement, wherein the structure is formed as a micro-perforation with a multiplicity of perforation zones and at least some perforation zones are filled at least in certain areas with at least one medicament for the purposes of producing a medicament repository. The invention also relates to a method for producing such an artificial eye lens.
Intraocular Refractive Phakic Lens and Method
Described is a refractive phakic lens that has haptics extending away from the optical portion and in which the haptics have a compressible and release portion in the form of reversed undulation shape and at the end of the reversed undulation is a haptic pad that contacts the sulcus. Also, there is a rim structure on the posterior surface of the optic member which extend circumferentially but has interruption. Also, there is an opening at the optical axis of the lens member. Thereby fluid can flow through the opening and through the interruptions.
Intraocular lens having a haptic structure with a streamlined cross-sectional geometry
An ophthalmic device includes an optic and a haptic structure coupled with the optic. The optic includes an optic axis. The haptic structure is coupled to the optic. The haptic structure retains the ophthalmic device within a capsular bag of a patient's eye. At least a portion of the haptic structure has a cross-section and a peripheral surface forming an outer periphery of a portion of the cross-section. At least a portion of the peripheral surface contacts the capsular bag and is smoothly curved.
Devices for reconstruction of a lens capsule after cataract surgery
Provided herein are devices used to reconstruct a natural lens capsule after a cataract surgery. The device has a ring-shaped rigid component, a ring-shaped flexible component and a groove disposed on an inner surface of the rigid component. The rigid component has a distal end attached to the ring-shaped flexible component and a proximal end that lies against Wieger's ligament when fitted within the natural lens capsule. The ring-shaped flexible component has a proximal end that is attached to the distal end of the rigid component and a distal end that contacts an anterior surface of the natural lens capsule when fitted therein. The groove is disposed to receive optics of an intraocular lens and/or the ledge is disposed to secure haptics thereof.
LIGHT ADJUSTABLE INTRAOCULAR LENS WITH A MODULABLE ABSORPTION FRONT PROTECTION LAYER
Embodiments of a modulable absorption light adjustable lens (MALAL) comprise a light adjustable lens that is capable of changing its optical properties upon an adjusting irradiation, including a photo-modifiable material; and a modulable absorption front protection layer, including a modulable absorption compound whose absorption properties can be modulated with a modulating stimulus. Other embodiments include a method of adjusting an optical property of a modulable absorption light adjustable lens, the method comprising: reducing an absorption of a modulable absorption compound of a modulable absorption front protection layer of the MALAL by a modulating stimulus, the MALAL having been previously implanted into an eye; and changing an optical property of a light adjustable lens of the MALAL by applying an adjusting irradiation.
Intraocular lens injector
IOL injectors and associated methods are described. An IOL injector may include a collapsible portion configured to reduce the length of the IOL injector when the collapsible portion is altered from an uncollapsed configuration to a collapsed configuration. In some instances, an IOL may be advanced from a storage location to a dwell location when the collapsible portion is altered from the uncollapsed configuration to the collapsed configuration. An IOL injector may include one or more of a hydraulic damper and a ribbed damper.
Collapsing push injector with hydraulic damping
Systems, methods, and devices for inserting an intraocular lens (IOL) assembly into an eye may be provided. A device for delivery of the IOL into the eye may include a housing; a nozzle operatively coupled to the housing; a first cylinder movably disposed within the housing; a second cylinder movably disposed within the housing, wherein the second cylinder is in fluid communication with the first cylinder; a plunger at least partially and movably disposed within the first cylinder; and a shaft movably disposed within the second cylinder, wherein the shaft is configured to move toward the lens component.
