SILICONE OIL TERPOLYMER FOR USE IN INTRAOCULAR LENS DEVICES
20220380552 · 2022-12-01 ·

A halosilicone oil in the form of an uncrosslinked terpolymer represented by the following Formula (I):

##STR00001##

is disclosed, wherein at least one block forming component includes a halogenated, preferably fluorinated, substituent such as 2,2,2-trifluoroethyl or 3,3,3-trifluoropropyl. In some implementations, at least one block forming component also includes an aryl group, such as phenyl, that raises the refractive index of the polymer. In some implementations, the halosilicone oil is incorporated into an intraocular lens.

OPHTHALMIC PROSTHETIC TO TREAT NEGATIVE AND POSITIVE DYSPHOTOPSIA
20230054347 · 2023-02-23 ·

An ophthalmic prosthetic and method for correcting negative and positive dysphotopsia. The ophthalmic prosthetic comprises a peripheral light blocking implant member adapted to locate in a gap between an iris and an intraocular implant lens. The gap is between the anterior surface of the lens and the posterior portion of the iris. An opacity of the peripheral light blocking implant member is selectively positioned to block passage of light.

STABILIZED INTRAOCULAR DRUG DELIVERY SYSTEMS AND METHODS OF USE

Embodiments disclosed herein generally relate to a stabilized intraocular drug delivery system for implantation into an eye of a subject. The system can include an intraocular lens (IOL) assembly and a drug delivery component. The IOL assembly can include a lens and a haptic. The haptic can include an outer end, an inner end opposite the outer end, a retention tab at the inner end, and a connection tab positioned between the outer end and the inner end and adjoining the lens. The drug delivery component can include at least one therapeutic agent and a fixation portion having an opening to receive the haptic and secure the drug delivery component to the IOL assembly. The fixation portion of the drug delivery component can be secured to the connection tab of the haptic such that the retention tab inhibits movement of the drug delivery component relative to the IOL assembly.

Accommodating intraocular lens

An accommodating intraocular lens (AIOL) for implantation within a capsular bag of a patient's eye comprises first and second components coupled together to define an inner fluid chamber and an outer fluid reservoir. The inner region of the AIOL provides optical power with one or more of the shaped fluid within the inner fluid chamber or the shape of the first or second components. The fluid reservoir comprises a bellows region with one or more folds of the bellows extending circumferentially around an optical axis of the eye. The bellows engages the lens capsule, and a compliant fold region between the inner and outer bellows portions allows the profile of the AIOL to deflect when the eye accommodates for near vision. Fluid transfers between the inner fluid chamber and the outer fluid reservoir to provide optical power changes when the eye accommodates.

Apparatus for creating incisions to improve intraocular lens placement

A system and method for inserting an intraocular lens in a patient's eye includes a light source for generating a light beam, a scanner for deflecting the light beam to form an enclosed treatment pattern that includes a registration feature, and a delivery system for delivering the enclosed treatment pattern to target tissue in the patient's eye to form an enclosed incision therein having the registration feature. An intraocular lens is placed within the enclosed incision, wherein the intraocular lens has a registration feature that engages with the registration feature of the enclosed incision. Alternately, the scanner can make a separate registration incision for a post that is connected to the intraocular lens via a strut member.

A prosthetic capsular device configured to be inserted in an eye after removal of a lens, in some embodiments, can comprise a housing structure comprising capable of containing an intraocular device. The housing structure can comprise an anterior portion comprising an anterior opening, a posterior portion comprising a posterior opening, and a continuous lateral portion between the anterior portion and the posterior portion.

TWO-PART ACCOMMODATING INTRAOCULAR LENS DEVICE
20230079479 · 2023-03-16 ·

A two-part accommodating intraocular lens (IOL) device for implantation in a capsular bag of a patient's eye. The IOL device includes a primary lens assembly and a power changing lens. The primary lens assembly includes a fixed lens and a peripherally disposed centration member. The centration member has a circumferential distal edge and a first coupling surface adjacent the circumferential distal edge. The power changing lens has an enclosed, fluid- or gel-filled lens cavity and haptic system disposed peripherally of the lens cavity. The haptic system has a peripheral engaging edge configured to contact the capsular bag and a second coupling surface. The first and second coupling surfaces are in sliding contact with one another to permit movement of the power changing lens relative to the primary lens assembly and also to maintain a spaced relationship between the fixed lens and the lens cavity during radial compression of the power changing lens.

MODULAR IOL DESIGN

A modular intraocular lens (IOL) with a ring configured to prevent glare artifacts. The ring includes a flange on the posterior rim, in which an anterior surface on the flange has a first profile and a posterior surface of the flange has a second profile non-parallel with the first profile. Non-parallel surfaces of the flange can be configured to defocus light transmitted at off-axis angles through an optic and the flange.
