A MEDICAL DEVICE FOR IMPROVING FUNCTION OF A HEART VALVE
20210346159 · 2021-11-11 ·

A medical device for improving function of a heart valve comprises at least a first partly pliant leaflet having a distal section and a proximal section. The distal section is configured to be oriented towards said inner section of said valve tissue in use. The first leaflet comprises at least two curving segments, such as bending lines extending from the proximal section towards said distal section thereby dividing said first leaflet to at least three portions. The distance between the line ends in the distal section area is shorter than the distance between the line ends in the proximal section area, thereby allowing at least a distal part of the portion locating between said curving segments, such as bending lines and being oriented towards said inner section of said valve tissue to bend to a first direction along the curving segments, such as bending lines when in use.

Cardiac valve repair devices configured for percutaneous delivery

Disclosed herein are devices for improving coaption of the mitral valve leaflets to reduce or eliminate mitral valve regurgitation. The devices may be used to perform mitral valve annuloplasty, or to serve as a docking station for a transcatheter prosthetic heart valve. The various embodiments of devices are configured for percutaneous and, in some cases, transvascular delivery. Delivery systems useful for routing the devices to the mitral valve are also disclosed, including catheters, balloons and/or mechanical expansion systems. The devices themselves include at least one tissue penetrating member. Methods of delivery include partially embedding the devices in the mitral valve annulus via at least one tissue penetrating member. Tissue penetrating members may be embedded into the tissue in a simultaneous or a nearly simultaneous fashion. Upon embedding, the devices employ various expansion and/or contraction features to adjust the mitral valve diameter. Adjustments may continue until the leaflets fully coapt and the problem of mitral regurgitation is reduced or eliminated.

Medical system for annuloplasty

An annuloplasty device is disclosed for treating a defective mitral valve having an annulus, comprising a removable and flexible elongate displacement unit for temporary insertion into a coronary sinus (CS) adjacent the valve, wherein the displacement unit has a delivery state for delivery into the CS, and an activated state to which the displacement unit is temporarily and reversibly transferable from said delivery state, the displacement unit comprises a proximal reversibly expandable portion, a distal anchoring portion being movable in relation to the proximal expandable portion in a longitudinal direction of the displacement unit to said activated state in which the shape of the annulus is modified to a modified shape, wherein the proximal expandable portion is reversibly foldable to an expanded state for positioning against a tissue wall at the entrance of the CS, and wherein the distal anchoring portion comprises an inflatable unit.

ANNULI ENGAGEMENT AND RESHAPING USING NATURAL FIDUCIALS

The present disclosure relates to methods and systems for aligning annuloplasty rings during surgical procedures and selectively engaging portions of the targeted annuli. Specifically, the disclosure is directed to methods and systems for aligning an annuloplasty ring or a toroidal portion thereof with natural fiducials present at or near an annular target, and engaging the annulus at the points aligned with the natural fiducials.

A spacer for creating a docking station for a transcatheter heart valve is provided. The spacer changes an effective diameter and/or a shape of an implanted bioprosthetic structure such as a bioprosthetic heart valve or annuloplasty ring, providing a supporting structure into which the transcatheter valve expands without over expanding. The spacer may be deployed through an interventional technique either through transseptal access, transfemoral access, or transapical access and is typically deployed at least in part on an inflow portion of the implanted bioprosthetic structure.

MITRAL OR TRICUSPID REPAIR SYSTEMS WITH MULTI-DIRECTIONAL ANCHORS

Prosthetic ring valve assemblies are disclosed. A prosthetic valve ring assembly includes an outer tube and a plurality of anchors. The outer tube includes a plurality of windows. The plurality of anchors are positioned inside the outer tube and about a perimeter of the outer tube. The plurality of anchors are configured to be emitted from the plurality of windows in order to anchor the prosthetic valve ring assembly to annulus tissue of a patient.

Transcatheter bio-prosthesis member and support structure

An implantable valve replacement system for a cardiovascular valve may include an adjustable stabilizing ring. The stabilizing ring may be composed of a body member that is transitionable from an elongate insertion geometry to an annular operable geometry. The stabilizing ring may further include a plurality of anchors deployable in the annular operable geometry to engage the annulus of the cardiovascular valve. The ring may be used in conjunction with an implantable valve frame. The valve frame may be located within the ring and the ring, in turn, may be stabilized through the anchors engaging the valve annulus. The valve replacement system may be applied by engaging the ring in its annular operable geometry with the valve annulus through the anchors. The valve frame may be inserted through the opening of the ring, thereby forming a stabilizing mechanical contact between the frame and the annulus.

Devices and methods for the treatment of heart valve insufficiencies

Disclosed herein are various embodiments directed to a device for minimally invasive medical treatment. The device being a hollow tube with a first end, a second end, and one or more anchors configured to extend outward from the exterior of the hollow tube. The hollow tube having a plurality of cutouts on the exterior, wherein the cutouts allow the hollow tube to be flexible. Additionally, the hollow tube may have at least one snap mechanism configured to connect the first end and the second end together.
