The second implant component is couplable to the first implant component at a plurality of rotational orientations about the coupler axis.

Modular bone graft cage

A graft cage includes cross-sectional portions and longitudinal members. Each portion includes base transverse members forming a cage base; a first arm including first arm transverse members; a second arm including second arm transverse members; base connecting struts, each base connecting strut extending between first one and second one of the base members; first arm connecting struts, each first arm connecting strut extending between a first one of the first members and a second one of the first members; and second arm connecting struts, each second arm connecting strut extending between first one and second one of the second members. The longitudinal members connect the portions to one another. Intersections of the portions with the longitudinal members forming pores in the first and second arms. The pores receive an arm tip of a further graft cage therein to interlock the cage with the further cage.

CEMENT RETAINING IMPLANT STEM FOR PERMANENT FIXATION

The present invention relates to a stem for or of an implant having a longitudinal axis and at least one recess adapted for cemented implantation into the medullary cavity and/or a cavity created by surgery of a long bone, characterized in that the recess is interrupted by a barrier. Further the present invention relates to a method for preparing a stem of an implant according to any one of the preceding claims for implantation, comprising the step of placing cement into the recess (12) on both sides of the barrier.

A femoral prosthesis includes a femur body and a cam portion. A joint surface of the femur body has a first joint surface portion for abutting a tibial prosthesis within a first knee flexion angle range from a first knee flexion angle to a second knee flexion angle, and a second joint surface portion for abutting the tibial prosthesis within a second knee flexion angle range from the second knee flexion angle to a third knee flexion angle. At the second knee flexion angle, the first joint surface portion has a first radius of curvature, and the second joint surface portion has a second radius of curvature. A center of circle of an anterior joint surface of the cam portion is located in a first quadrant of a center of circle with the second radius of curvature in a sagittal section when the femoral prosthesis is in an extended state.

An implant including first and second end plates, each of which defines at least one anterior ramped surface and at least one posterior ramped surface. A posterior actuator is positioned between the first and second end plates and has guiding ramp surfaces which correspond with the posterior ramped surfaces. An anterior actuator is positioned between the first and second end plates and guiding ramp surfaces which correspond with the anterior ramped surfaces. An actuator assembly extends between the posterior actuator and the anterior actuator and is configured to selectively move the posterior actuator and the anterior actuator simultaneously, move posterior actuator independently of the anterior actuator, or move the anterior actuator independently of the posterior actuator.

Mould for making a temporary prosthetic component for a knee

Described is a mould (1) for making a temporary prosthetic component for a knee in an operating room comprising: a first half-mould (10); a second half-mould (20) which can be coupled to the first half-mould (10) for forming a moulding chamber (C) for a temporary prosthetic component made of medical cement; and elements (30) for fixing the first half-mould (10) to the second half-mould (20). Each fixing element (30) has a rod (31) configured for connecting the first half-mould (10) to the second half-mould (20) and defining a weakness neck (32) configured to allow a facilitated breakage of the rod (31).

A modular shoulder prosthesis system, in at least one embodiment, provides flexibility in shoulder replacements and ability to switch between a traditional anatomic Total Shoulder Replacement (ta-TSR) to a reverse Total Shoulder Replacement (r-TSR). Optionally, the system provides for a modular adaptation for the glenoid side in a TSR. The system includes a baseplate, a modular component, a humeral base and a modular humeral component. The baseplate includes a base with at least two attachment points extending in from opposed outer circumferential sides of the base. The modular component and the modular humeral component configured to cooperate with each other. The baseplate and the humeral base, or alternatively a second baseplate, are capable of attachment to different modular components to facilitate both ta-TSR and r-TSR with a change in the attached modular component.

Prosthesis Connection System

A prosthesis includes first and second prosthetic limb components and a fastening system for fastening the first and second prosthetic limb components. The first prosthetic limb component is provided with a first coupling member and the second prosthetic limb component is provided with a second coupling member. The first coupling member includes a cylindric member having an axis, with a wall generally parallel with said axis. The second coupling member includes a circular skirt element having an axis and having corresponding external dimensions to the cylindric member whereby to permit a sliding fit therewith in an unfastened state. The fastening system includes a resilient member having an axis and is operable to expand laterally, orthogonally with respect to the axis such that, in a coupling mode of operation, the lateral expansion operates to cause the skirt to be in a state of frictional engagement with the other coupling member.

Robotic Shoulder Fracture Management

A method of repairing a fractured bone may include implanting a prosthetic stem into an intramedullary canal of the fractured bone. First and second bone segments of the fractured bone may be robotically machined to include first and second implant-facing surfaces that are substantially negatives of first and second surface portions of the first end of the prosthetic stem. The first and second tuberosities may be machined so that the first and second bone segments have first and second interlocking surfaces shaped to interlock with each other. During implantation, the first and second implant-facing surfaces are in contact with the first and second surface portions of the first end of the prosthetic stem, and the first interlocking surface interlocks with the second interlocking surface.
