Devices and methods for vertebral bone realignment
Methods and apparatus for providing correction of one or more maladies or conditions of the spinal column of a living being. In one embodiment, the apparatus includes an implantable device configured to be selectively adjustable in one or more portions thereof so as to permit correction of asymmetries or irregularities of the spinal column via insertion into one or more affected intervertebral disc spaces. In one variant, the implantable device includes upper and lower host elements which are hinged or can pivot relative to one another, and an insertable distraction mechanism which is adjustable to enable one side or the other of the implantable device to alter height. In another variant, both sides of the implantable device can be adjusted for height via the host elements and one or more pivots or hinges. In one implementation, the distraction mechanism is adjustable from multiple approaches into the disc space.
FLANGED INTERBODY FUSION DEVICE
Methods and devices are disclosed for treating the vertebral column. An implant for treating the spine is provided comprising at least two articulations between the spacer and the bone facing surface of the fixation plate. Another implant for treating the spine is also provided, comprising two or more fixation plates attached to a spacer with two or more articulations, wherein the fixation plates are independently movable.
Constrained Spacer Device For The Knee Joint
A spacer device for the knee joint including a femoral component, a tibial component and an intermediate component, wherein the femoral component is adapted to be constrained to an end of the femoral bone in proximity to the knee joint, wherein the tibial component is adapted to be constrained to an end of the tibial bone in proximity to the knee joint, the femoral component being adapted to come into contact and to articulate with the tibial component, wherein the intermediate component is placed in use between the femoral component and the tibial component and wherein the constrained spacer device includes a first hinge and a second hinge adapted to rotatably constrain the femoral component to the tibial component.
ELBOW SPACER
The present invention regards an elbow spacer device, including: at least one ulnar section, including a stem portion extending along a substantially longitudinal axis (x-x) between a proximal end and a distal end; at least one humeral section, including a stem portion extending along a substantially longitudinal axis (y-y) between a proximal end and a distal end, the distal end of the humeral section delimiting an engagement seat with the proximal end of the ulnar section; articulation means between the distal end of the humeral section and the proximal end of the ulnar section, positionable along an axis (z-z) that is orthogonal to the substantially longitudinal axis (y-y) of the humeral section. The proximal end of the ulnar section is engageable in the housing seat.
Universally expanding cages
An expandable medical implant that includes a lower lifting plate, an upper lifting plat, a distal lifting block, a proximal lifting block, a rotational block, a lifting screw, and a locking nut, and related methods of use. Also, an expandable medical implant that includes a lower lifting plate having a proximal lower angled lifting portion, an upper lifting plate having a proximal upper angled lifting portion, a center fork block, a lifting lobe, a distal screw, and a proximal nut, and related methods of use.
EXPANDING INTERVERTEBRAL IMPLANTS
A joint spacer has first and second endplates, with each having a bone engaging surface, and at least two cams with an inclined cam surface positioned on an opposite side. First and second slides, each having ramps with an inclined surface are engaged with the cams of the endplate. The first slide has an angled portion at an end, and the second slide has a hinge portion. A threaded shaft has a hinge portion connected to the slide hinge portion, connecting the shaft to the slide, enabling the shaft to pivot. A nut is threaded to the shaft, and can contact and interfere with the angled portion of the first slide to drive the first slide with respect to the second slide. This results in engagement of the cams and ramps to drive the endplates apart to increase the spacer height.
Cage having spike
The present invention relates to a cage which is inserted between vertebral bodies of a cervical vertebra or spine during an operation for treating a cervical disc disease, myelosis, or fracture of the cervical vertebra or spine, and more particularly, to a cage with spikes, including upper and lower spikes which are attached to a clip inserted into a main body of the cage, unfolded upward and downward from the main body, and locked to vertebral bodies of a cervical vertebra or spine positioned at the top and bottom of the cage such that the cage is fixed and locked between the vertebral bodies.
VERTEBRAL BODY SPACER
A vertebral body spacer of the present invention is used by being inserted between a vertebral body and a vertebral body (intervertebral space). The vertebral body spacer has a block body constituted of titanium or a titanium alloy as a main component thereof, and provided with a pair of contact surfaces to be made contact with the vertebral body and the vertebral body. The block body includes a frame-shaped dense part and a porous part provided inside the dense part, and a porosity of at least a surface of the porous part is larger than a porosity of the dense part. According to the present invention, it is possible to maintain an appropriate size between the vertebral bodies (intervertebral space).
ELBOW PROSTHESIS
The present invention concerns an elbow prosthesis, including: at least one ulnar section, including a stem portion extending along a substantially longitudinal axis (x-x) between a proximal end and a distal end; at least one humeral section, including a stem portion extending along a substantially longitudinal axis (y-y) between a proximal end and a distal end, the distal end of the humeral section delimiting an engagement seat with the proximal end of the ulnar section; articulation means between the distal end of the humeral section and the proximal end of the ulnar section, available along an axis (z-z) perpendicular with respect to the substantially longitudinal axis (y-y) of the humeral section. The proximal end of the ulnar section is engageable in the housing seat.
Prosthesis for the restoration of a joint between two bones, and ancillary tool for the assembly thereof
A prosthesis includes a first and second plate; elements for mounting the plates to pivot about an axis, which include a flexible hinge including a cylindrical plane flexible strip with two cylindrical swellings respectively associated with two edges of the strip, the dimension of the cross-sections of the swellings, taken in a direction perpendicular to the plane containing the pivot axis and passing through the swellings, being greater than the thickness of the strip taken in the same direction, a hole in each plate of shape complementary to the swellings and opening out in a first face of the corresponding plate; a slot made in each plate and opening out into the hole of that plate, in a second of its faces, and in the first face, the hinge and plates being mounted to so that the swellings and the strip are situated respectively in the two holes and slots.
