Prosthesis for Partial and Total Joint Replacement
A prosthetic joint is secured to the bones forming the original joint by utilizing strictly mechanical fasteners, for example, a threaded rod engaging a tapped intramedullary canal. Cross locking members may be provided. The need for bone cement is avoided. The prosthetic joint may be used to replace one end of one bone forming the joint, utilizing the naturally occurring end of the other bone. Alternatively, both bone ends may be replaced with prosthetic joint portions. The decision to replace one or both bone ends may be made mid-surgery. The prosthetic joint portions are secured together utilizing ligament reconstruction members made from portions of the patient's tendons or allograft tendons. A bearing forming the interface between the two joint portions is designed to wear in order to protect the remaining components from wear, and to be easily replaced in relatively simple future surgeries.
WRIST ENDOPROSTHESIS
A wrist endoprosthesis (2) for functional replacement of the human wrist, containing a radius component (4) that has a shaft (10) for anchoring in the radius, a head (12), and a first joint surface (16), which is implemented on a distal head face (14), and a carpal component (6) that has a proximal carpal face (22), a distal carpal face (20) and a second joint surface (24) which is formed on the proximal carpal face (22) and interacts with the first joint surface (169) of the radius component (4), characterized in that the carpal component (6) is substantially trough-shaped, in order to at least partially surround the carpal bones. Also, a wrist endoprosthesis (2) that has anti-luxation protection (8), a method for producing wrist endoprostheses (2) and a computer program product.
Oblique expanding fusion cage device and method
An oblique expanding fusion cage device including a body with a superior portion and an inferior portion. The superior portion and the inferior portion have a proximal end and a distal end. The fusion cage device also includes a pathway, an opening, and an expanding member. The pathway travels from the proximal end to the distal end of the device between the superior and inferior portions. The opening in the proximal end of the body enables access to the pathway. The expanding member may be re movably inserted into the opening and is moveable toward the distal end of the body, wherein the expanding member engages the superior portion and the inferior portion as the expanding member moves distally within the pathway.
MODULAR MEDIAL PIVOT TIBIAL INSERT FOR ENDOPROSTHETIC KNEE IMPLANT ASSEMBLY
Exemplary assemblies, apparatuses, systems, methods, and kits are provided herein related to modular tibial inserts. One such assembly can comprise a modular tibial insert assembly having: a modular medial insert component, the modular medial insert component having a medial component proximal side proximally disposed from a medial component distal base side, wherein a medial component body extends between the medial component proximal side and the medial component distal base side; a modular lateral insert component, the modular lateral insert component having a lateral component proximal side proximally disposed from a lateral component distal base side, wherein a lateral component body extends between the lateral component proximal side and the lateral component distal base side; wherein the modular tibial insert assembly has an assembled configuration and a disassembled configuration, and wherein the modular medial insert component is configured to fixedly engage the modular lateral insert component in the assembled configuration.
ELBOW ARTHROPLASTY APPARATUS, SYSTEM, AND METHOD
The present disclosure generally relates to an elbow arthoplasty prosthesis that includes an ulnar component, a humeral component, one or more articulation liners, and a retention trap. The ulnar component includes a spherical bearing head that can be inserted into the humeral component in a number of orientations. The articulation liners and the retention trap are operatively engaged to the humeral component to retain the ulnar component within a humeral socket. The present disclosure also relates to methods of assembling and implanting the prosthetic device.
EXPANDABLE FUSION DEVICE AND METHOD OF INSTALLATION THEREOF
An expandable fusion device capable of being installed inside an intervertebral disc space to maintain normal disc spacing and restore spinal stability, thereby facilitating an intervertebral fusion. The intervertebral implant may be configured to transition from a collapsed configuration having a first width and a first height to an expanded configuration having a second width and a second height.
MULTIPLE SPINDLE ADJUSTABLE INTERBODY FUSION DEVICES AND METHODS OF USE
An interbody fusion device includes a base member, a top member, and an expansion mechanism for moving the top member relative to the base member. The expansion mechanism may include a connector drive rod assembly, a gear, a threaded rod, and a support means. The gear ring is coupled to the threaded rod and is rotatable. The expansion mechanism may also include at least one load head coupled to the threaded rod. An alternative interbody fusion device is also disclosed and includes a bottom member, a superior member, and an expansion mechanism for moving the superior member relative to the base member, wherein the expansion mechanism comprises at least one expansion assembly for moving an end of the superior member relative to the bottom member.
BONE STRUCTURAL DEVICE
A bone structural device including a plurality of bone structural segments, wherein adjacent bone structural segments are pivotally connected to one another about a pivot axis, and the bone structural segments are expandable in height, which is in a direction generally parallel to the pivot axis.
Dome Toe Resurfacing System
An innovative dome toe resurfacing system for performing metatarsophalangeal joint replacement is disclosed. The present invention comprises a prosthetic implant for metatarsophalangeal joint, and one or more cone extensions that covers portions of the prosthesis that extends into the metatarsal bone and phalanx bone. The cone extensions include a plurality of ridges that will catch bone on insertion and provide a press fit. The present invention also includes a cone and cup reaming system wherein one or more reamers will ream a cone/cup shape for the articular surfaces, and prepare the metatarsal and phalangeal canals for the insertion of the cone extensions. The cone extensions have ends that fit the reamed cone/cup shape wherein the cone/cup shape resembles the natural anatomy of articular surfaces of metatarsophalangeal joint.
