Mold for forming a joint spacer device or a part thereof
A mold for forming a joint spacer device or a part thereof includes a rigid container body having a first perimeter profile delimiting a first molding surface configured to shape a first portion of the joint spacer or part thereof; and a rigid cover provided with a second perimeter profile delimiting a second molding surface configured to shape a second portion of the joint spacer or part thereof. The rigid container body and the rigid cover are removably engageable to each other, at the first and the second perimeter profile, so as to delimit a cavity corresponding to the external configuration of the joint spacer or part thereof. The mold includes a weakening system on the rigid container body and on the rigid cover, making them separable into parts to enable the extraction of the spacer device or part thereof, molded therebetween.
Composite Vertebral Spacers and Instrument
An intervertebral fusion cage that is adapted to contain an inserter within its inner volume during insertion of the cage.
Ball and socket implants for correction of hammer toes and claw toes
A toe bone implant for correction of toe bone deformities is provided. The toe bone implant includes a first portion having a socket portion. The toe bone implant also includes a second portion having a ball portion operatively connected to the socket portion. The toe bone implant is implanted in a joint such that the ball portion is configured to rotate a predetermined amount respective to the socket portion.
Suture-locking washer for use with a bone anchor, and method for supporting the thumb of a patient after basal joint arthroplasty, and other novel orthopedic apparatus and other novel orthopedic procedures
The invention provides surgical methods, devices, apparatus, and systems for supporting the thumb of a patient after basal joint arthroplasty. The embodiments of the invention comprise at least one index metacarpal anchor, at least one thumb metacarpal anchor, at least one sling for positioning the thumb metacarpal anchor relative to the index metacarpal anchor, and at least one anchor washer for tightening and securing the sling(s) without the need to tie the suture(s) components of the sling(s) into knots. Index and thumb metacarpal anchors comprise at least one bone-engaging element for engaging the respective metacarpal. The anchor washer may incorporate one or more sling-engagement mechanisms. Increasing the number of sling-engagement mechanisms associated with the anchor washer increases the surface area of the sling(s) and provides multiple sling elements to provide redundancy and increase the pull force of the sling(s) attachment(s) used to affix the thumb and index metacarpal anchors into a position relative to each other.
SENSOR-BASED SHOULDER SYSTEM AND METHOD
The subject matter includes a system and method for providing graphical feedback visualizing forces within a joint through a range of motion of the joint. The method can comprise receiving position data, receiving force data, and generating a graphical representation based on the position data and the force data. The receiving position data can include data for at least one bone of a joint while the at least one bone is moved through a range of motion (ROM). The receiving force data can occur concurrently to receiving the position data and using one or more processors, the force data can be collected from at least one force sensor embedded within a trial prosthesis in the joint. The graphical representation can illustrate changes in the force data versus locations of the bone as it moved through the ROM.
Adjustable modular spacer device for the articulation of the knee
Adjustable modular spacer device for the articulation of the knee including a tibial component, suitable for being fixedly connected to one end of the tibial bone near to the articulation of the knee, a femoral component, suitable for being fixedly connected to one end of the femoral bone near to the articulation of the knee and suitable for coming into contact and for being articulated with the tibial component, in which the femoral component includes at least one condylar articular portion and an intercondylar central body, in which the intercondylar central body and the at least one condylar articular portion are separate and discrete components of the femoral component.
Antibiotic dispensing spacer apparatus and method for infected total knee arthroplasty
A spacer for a knee replacement prosthesis. The spacer may have a lower surface with a locking component adapted to interlock with a tibial tray, an upper surface optionally with a tibial post and a pair of smooth-surfaced and slightly concave condyle support platforms disposed on opposite sides of the tibial post, and a substantially hollow body with an internal reservoir that can be filled with antibiotic material. The reservoir may be accessible from a port on the hollow body that leads into the internal reservoir, and which permits refilling of the reservoir. In some embodiments, the reservoir may be refillable from this port without removal of the spacer from the patient; for example, a percutaneous needle may be inserted into the port. The spacer may dispense antibiotic from this reservoir to the surrounding area in order to treat an infection.
JOINT DEVICE AND METHOD
A mould adapted to be introduced into a joint of a human patient for resurfacing at least one carrying contacting surface of said joint is provided. The mould is adapted to receive material for resurfacing at least one carrying contacting surface of said joint. The mould is further adapted to be resorbed by the human body or melt after having served its purpose.
Elbow spacer
The present invention regards an elbow spacer device, including: at least one ulnar section, including a stem portion extending along a substantially longitudinal axis (x-x) between a proximal end and a distal end; at least one humeral section, including a stem portion extending along a substantially longitudinal axis (y-y) between a proximal end and a distal end, the distal end of the humeral section delimiting an engagement seat with the proximal end of the ulnar section; articulation means between the distal end of the humeral section and the proximal end of the ulnar section, positionable along an axis (z-z) that is orthogonal to the substantially longitudinal axis (y-y) of the humeral section. The proximal end of the ulnar section is engageable in the housing seat.
JOINT CONFIGURATION
A joint configuration is proposed for a joint endoprosthesis forming a hinge joint, comprising a joint receptacle, which has a joint receptacle surface and a receptacle locking structure, and a joint body, which is receivable in the joint receptacle and has a joint body surface and a body locking structure. The joint receptacle surface and the joint body surface are movable in relation to one another into a position in which the receptacle locking structure and the body locking structure assume a locked position, in which they can be engaged for a locked state between the joint receptacle and the joint body.
