Modular orthopaedic components

Modular neck components for hip implants having independent variables associated with physical characteristics of the implant, including leg length, offset, and anteversion. During surgery, the surgeon may be confronted with a need to change a preoperatively-chosen modular neck. For example, the surgeon may desire a change in at least one of the variables, e.g., leg length, offset, and/or anteversion. The present disclosure allows the surgeon to quickly and easily select a different modular neck based on an evaluation of one of the variables without requiring reevaluation of the other variables.

METHOD AND APPARATUS FOR MANUFACTURING AN IMPLANT
20180140426 · 2018-05-24 ·

An orthopedic implant manufacturing method. The method includes preparing a pre-operative surgical plan for a specific patient, the surgical plan including a three-dimensional image of a patient's joint indicating at least one resection plane, communicating the surgical plan to a surgeon of the patient, and receiving approval of the surgical plan and the resection plane by the surgeon. The method also includes providing automated osteophyte/protrusion removal control for surgeon manipulation, receiving a modified three-dimensional image of a patient's joint indicating an osteophyte/protrusion removal and a recommendation for a corresponding selected orthopedic implant from the surgeon, and requesting manufacture of the selected orthopedic implant.

ANKLE PROSTHESIS AND METHODS OF USING THE SAME

The present disclosure pertains to ankle prostheses. In an example embodiment, the ankle prosthesis comprises an adjustable and replaceable intermediate implant that is disposed between a tibial implant and a talar implant. The intermediate implant is adjustable relative to the tibial implant and can be interlocked therewith once adjusted. Methods of using, fitting, and adjusting the device are also described. Still other embodiments are described.

Acetabular cup having a wireless communication device

A orthopedic implant comprises an acetabular cup and a wireless communication device. The wireless communication device is coupled to a rim surface of the acetabular cup. In one embodiment, a recess is defined in the rim surface and the wireless communication device is positioned therein. In another embodiment, the wireless communication device is positioned in an annular ring formed of a biocompatible material. The annular ring is coupled to the rim surface of the acetabular cup. The wireless communication device may be, for example, a radio frequency identification (RFID) tag or device.

Systems and methods for increased operating room efficiency

Systems, devices and methods to improve safety and efficiency in an operating room comprise providing a suture package that holds new suture needles and needle receptacles for storing used needles. The devices can be safely worn for the surgeon to self-dispense new suture needles in the near surgical field and to secure the used needles into a needle trap or a needle retainer located on his extremity, on his operative instruments or on the surgical drapes. The device may provide automated and/or simplified needle counting both during use and after removal from the surgical field. The device may be configured for ergonomic and efficient use so as to minimize the actions and motions of the surgeon to dispense and secure the needle.

INTEGRALLY FORMED MEDICAL DEVICES
20240366271 · 2024-11-07 ·

Disclosed herein are integrally formed medical devices and methods relating thereto. One embodiment provides an integrally formed medical device comprising: a substantially trapezoidal body portion having at least one surface that is contoured to fit an anatomy of a patient; and a graft window defining a vertical aperture through said body portion, such that said body portion defines a cage.

Shoulder Prosthesis With Variable Inclination Humeral Head Component

Methods and devices are disclosed for joint (e.g., shoulder) arthroplasty, including for reverse joint arthroplasty. In one aspect, there is provided a trial device for determining inclination, offset, and/or version of a prosthetic tray with respect to a prosthetic stem or stemless implant. In another aspect, there is provided a joint (e.g., shoulder) prosthesis, which allows for variable offset, inclination or version or any combination thereof. In another aspect, there is provided a method for setting an offset or inclination angle or a version angle or any combination thereof of a prosthetic tray with respect to a stem or stemless device implanted or to be implanted in a bone of a joint (e.g., shoulder) by matching the corresponding offset or version or inclination or any combination thereof to a trial device.

Optical Image Vertebral Implant Cage and Reading System Therefor

An implant containing a structurally encoded region, the implant comprising an implant body defining adjacent first and second encoded regions, the first encoded region comprising a first series of shaped inclusions in a first pattern of relatively differing opacity figures, and the second encoded region comprising a second series of shaped inclusions in a second pattern of relatively differing opacity figures, the first and second encoded regions being disposed such that, when the first encoded region and second encoded regions are viewed by reading illumination from a position wherein the first pattern and second pattern overlap, a third pattern is revealed by the reading illumination, the third pattern being different than the first and second patterns, and comprising shape or surface characteristics representing structurally encoded data. The invention further comprises systems and methods of manufacturing, using and reading the same.

Spinal fusion implant

A spinal fusion implant including a body and a jacket is disclosed. The jacket includes at least two radiopaque markers extending therefrom for use in determining the position of the implant after placement between intervertebral bodies. Methods of implanting and evaluating positioning of the implant are also disclosed.

Method and apparatus for manufacturing an implant
