Expandable interbody device
10874524 · 2020-12-29 · ·

An expandable interbody device for use in the spine is configured to fit through Kambin's Triangle. The expandable interbody device can include a body defining a front end, a rear end and a plurality of sidewalls spanning between the front and rear ends, an expandable member pivotally attached to the body such that the expandable member pivots outwardly from one of the plurality of sidewalls and a screw threaded into the body through the rear end thereof. The expandable member defines an actuator flange that projects into the body. The screw abuts the actuator flange such that contracting the screw into the body causes the expandable member to pivot outwardly from the body.

Motion Preserving Spinal Implant for Total Disc Replacement
20200352733 · 2020-11-12 ·

A motion preserving spinal implant is presented for use in placement between intervertebral space for total replacement of a degenerated spinal disc. The motion preserving spinal implant has a pair of end plates sandwiched around an inner core and an outer core, with the inner core being concentrically positioned within the outer core. The outer core encapsulates the inner core and provides adequate sealing of the inner core while maintaining flexibility and elasticity to advantageously support physiological movements. The inner core is constructed of an elastomeric material and acts as a solid diaphragm in order to resist and withstand localized compression and other forces. The end plates provide anchoring and fusion with adjoining vertebra and hold the inner and outer cores in place. The motion preserving spinal implant restores the normal height and natural function of the degenerated spinal disc and preserves the natural motion of the spine.

Iliac prosthesis

The present disclosure provides an iliac prosthesis, comprising: a prosthesis main body, the prosthesis main body including a first end portion contacted and matched with a sacrum and a second end portion contacted and matched with an acetabulum, a first screw hole being formed in the first end portion, a first screw seat being arranged in the first screw hole, the screw-rod structure including a connecting seat and a rod body, the connecting seat being connected with the prosthesis main body, and the rod body being fixed on the connecting seat; and an anti-dropping mechanism, the anti-dropping mechanism being arranged between the prosthesis main body and the connecting seat in a clamping manner. The technical solutions of the present disclosure can effectively solve the problems of unreliable supporting and easy fatigue break of the screw-rod system in the related technology.

Prosthetic implant support structure
10806587 · 2020-10-20 · ·

A prosthetic system that includes a prosthetic implant acrd a support structure secured to an inner surface of a cavity of a bone is disclosed. The support structure may comprise a pair of partially hemispherical components arranged in spaced apart relationship thereby defining a channel between the pair of components.

Intervertebral implant with integrated fixation

A surgical instrument and method are provided for removal of a spinal implant from the intervertebral disc space. The instrument includes a carriage body for interfacing with the implant, a housing for interfacing with the vertebrae, and a handle portion having a first portion rotatably coupled with a proximal end of the housing and a second portion rotatably engageable with a proximal attachment portion of the carriage body. A central passage of the housing extends between the proximal end and a distal engagement surface of the housing. The central passage is dimensioned to mate with the carriage body. Rotation of the handle portion about an axis causes translational movement of the carriage body along the axis. A modular inserter/distractor apparatus and method and an anchor remover and method are also provided.

Fused femoral stem system
10792157 · 2020-10-06 · ·

The present invention provides a fused femoral stem system, including a curved short handle, a fixing mechanism and a femoral head prosthesis, one end of the curved short handle is provided with a conical connector, the conical connector is cooperatively connected with a conical connecting hole of the femoral head prosthesis, the other end of the curved short handle is inserted from the osteotomy surface of the femoral neck and stretches to the position of a medullary cavity below a small trochanter, and the curved short handle is connected and fixed with a large trochanter through the fixing mechanism. The present invention has the beneficial effects that, after the growing-in osseointegration with the sclerotin surrounding the proximal bone bed of the host after the surgery of the whole system, the mechanical influence on the retained femoral neck and the sclerotin in the vicinity of the large and small trochanters is substantially similar to the biomechanical state prior to the surgery.

Finishing rasp and orthopaedic surgical procedure for using the same to implant a revision hip prosthesis

A modular femoral prosthesis for use during performance of a hip revision procedure includes a proximal body component, a distal stem component, and a locking bolt. Surgical instruments and methods for use in implanting such a modular femoral prosthesis are disclosed.

IMPLANTS FOR SPINAL FIXATION AND OR FUSION

Bone implants, including methods of use and assembly. The bone implants, which are optionally composite implants, generally include a distal anchoring region and a growth region that is proximal to the distal anchoring region. The distal anchoring region can have one or more distal surface features that adapt the distal anchoring region for anchoring into iliac bone. The growth region can have one or more growth features that adapt the growth region to facilitate at least one of bony on-growth, in-growth, or through-growth. The implants may be positioned along a posterior sacral alar-iliac (SAI) trajectory. The implants may be coupled to one or more bone stabilizing constructs, such as rod elements thereof.

Sacral prosthesis
10751188 · 2020-08-25 · ·

The present disclosure provides a sacral prosthesis, comprising: a prosthesis main body, the prosthesis main body including two first prosthesis bodies and a second prosthesis body connected between the two first prosthesis bodies the two first prosthesis bodies and the second prosthesis body being of an integrally prototyped structure, a second end of each of the first prosthesis bodies being contacted and matched with an ilium, and a top of the second prosthesis body being contacted and matched with a lumbar vertebral body; and a screw-rod structure, the screw-rod structure including a connecting seat and a rod body, the connecting seat being connected with the prosthesis main body, and the rod body being fixed on the connecting seat. The technical solutions of the present disclosure can effectively solve the problems of unreliable supporting and easy fatigue break of the screw-rod system in the related technology.

Implantable compensating sleeve for an endoprosthesis
10743997 · 2020-08-18 · ·

An implantable compensating sleeve is for application between a longitudinal implant section of a first implant, and a second implant that encompasses the longitudinal implant section of the first implant. The compensating sleeve has a sheath with a sheath body and a passage, running from the proximal to the distal end of the sheath body, for receiving the longitudinal implant section of the first implant. The sheath body is formed from separate planar and/or rod-shaped compensating elements which are arranged in a ring and aligned in the longitudinal direction of the sheath body. A gap runs from the proximal to the distal end between two adjacent compensating elements. Adjacent compensating elements are interconnected by at least one foldable wire such that they can move relative to one another.
