INTERVERTEBRAL SPACER AND PLATE
Embodiments herein are generally directed to spinal implants, systems, apparatuses, and components thereof that can be used in spinal fusion and/or stabilization procedures, as well as methods of installation. The spinal implants may include an intervertebral spacer and a plate member.
LOW PROFILE PLATE
The present application generally relates to orthopedic systems, and in particular, to systems including independent plates and spacers. A plating system can include a spacer and a plate that is independent from the spacer. A number of locking mechanisms can be provided to secure the plate to the spacer. In some cases, the spacer includes a pair of notches that extend on an outer surface of the spacer. The plate can include a pair of lateral extensions that can engage the notches to secure the plate to the spacer. In other cases, the spacer includes an opening including a pair of inlets. The plate can include an enclosed posterior extension that can be received in the pair of inlets to secure the plate to the spacer.
Small Joint Fixation
A method of joining adjacent bone includes providing a medical device having a first implant portion, a second implant portion attached to the first implant portion, and a driver assembly having an instrument adapted to form an opening in bone. The driver assembly is integrally connected to and removably attached to the second implant portion at a connection, distal from the first implant portion. The driver assembly further has a wire driver extending therefrom, distal from the first implant portion. The method further includes inserting the wire driver into a wire driver tool; placing the first implant portion against a first bone structure; inserting the first implant portion into the first bone structure; removing the second implant portion from the driver assembly; using the driver assembly to form an opening in a second bone structure, adjacent to the first bone structure; and inserting the second implant portion into the opening.
Vertebral body replacement
The present invention involves a system and methods for assembling and implanting a vertebral body implant. The vertebral body implant includes, but is not necessarily limited to, an expandable core body and endplates that can be attached at both ends. Endplates of various shapes, sizes and angles are attachable to the expandable core in a plurality of positions so that a suitable vertebral body implant can be implanted between vertebrae from an anterior, anterior-lateral, lateral, posterior or posterior-lateral approach.
Intervertebral implant and system of an intervertebral implant and an instrument for inserting the intervertebral implant
An intervertebral implant includes: a body with an upper wall configured to engage a first vertebral end plate and a lower wall configured to engage a second vertebral end plate, and a load transmitting part configured to transmit load between the upper wall and the lower wall; and the load transmitting part is configured to assume a compressed condition in which a distance between the upper wall and the lower wall defines a first height of the implant and an expanded condition in which the distance between the upper wall and the lower wall defines a second height of the implant that is greater than the first height; and the load transmitting part is attached to the upper wall at at least two first connecting locations and is attached to the lower wall at at least two second connecting locations and has substantially an X-shape in a front view of the implant; and the implant is made of a material that exhibits shape memory properties that permit the implant to remain in the compressed condition without outside forces acting upon it and to change to the expanded condition in response to a temperature being directed to a recovery level.
Spinal implant system and method
An interbody implant includes an implant body extending between an anterior surface and a posterior surface. The implant body includes a first vertebral engaging surface and a second vertebral engaging surface. At least one of the vertebral engaging surfaces defines a cavity configured for disposal of bone growth detectable via medical imaging. Systems, spinal constructs, surgical instruments and methods are disclosed.
OBLIQUE SPINAL FUSION CAGE
The present invention provides an oblique spinal fusion cage capable of executing a surgery even when there are a psoas muscle and a peritoneum along an operation route, which is performed in a direction inclined from a flank. The oblique spinal fusion cage has a curved shape as a whole so as to be stably seated in a space between vertebral bodies irrespective of a skill level of an operator, thereby preventing a medical accident that may occur in the patient.
Expandable intervertebral implant, inserter instrument, and related methods
An expandable intervertebral implant includes a first endplate and a endplate, a first wedge member and a second wedge member spaced from the first wedge member that couple the first and second plates together. The first and second wedge members configured to move between a first collapsed position and a second expansion position. The implant includes an actuation member coupled to the first wedge member and the second wedge member. The first and second wedge members can be coupled to the upper and lower endplates at guide members that are asymmetric. An instrument can be coupled to the implant so as to provide a force to the actuation member that causes the wedge members to move between the collapsed position and the expansion position. The instrument can include a drive shaft and a toggle member that is configured to move the drive shaft between a first position whereby the drive shaft is configured to drive an attachment pin into the implant, and a second position whereby the drive shaft is aligned to drive the actuation member to rotate.
DEVICE AND METHOD FOR DEPLOYMENT OF AN ANCHORING DEVICE FOR INTERVERTEBRAL SPINAL FUSION
A device and methods for intervertebral spinal fusion of adjacent intervertebral bodies. An intervertebral spacer is positioned within a narrow disc space between adjacent intervertebral bodies of a patient. The spacer is arranged with upper and lower guides. The guides are adapted to simultaneously guide the deployment of upper and lower anchors of an anchoring device into their respective intervertebral bodies. The spacer is also adapted to lock the upper and lower anchors to the spacer in the deployed position.
DEVICES AND METHODS FOR SPINAL STABILIZATION AND INSTRUMENTATION
Apparatus and methods for providing spinal percutaneous delivery of an implant that can rigidly fixate the spinous process of a first superior bone and a second inferior bone of a functional spinal unit. In one aspect, the device comprises two bone abutment members connected via an interconnecting member. In another aspect, the method comprises implanting at least two spinal implant apparatus within a target disc space via an implantation apparatus. In another aspect, a placement instrument comprising an implant delivery segment, an anchor segment, and an articulating arm is disclosed.
