Implant having a shaft coated with a web structure
In various embodiments, an implant for interfacing with a bone structure includes a web structure including a space truss. The space truss includes two or more planar truss units having a plurality of struts joined at nodes and the web structure is configured to interface with human bone tissue. In some embodiments, a method is provided that includes accessing an intersomatic space and inserting an implant into the intersomatic space. The implant includes a web structure including a space truss. The space truss includes two or more planar truss units having a plurality of struts joined at nodes and the web structure is configured to interface with human bone tissue.
Talus formation and implantation method
A process for printing a talus implant comprising the steps of scanning a joint for a damaged talus, and scanning a contralateral joint for a healthy talus. Next, the process includes obtaining dimensions for a talus based upon an initial scan and then obtaining dimensions for a talus based upon the scan of the contralateral joint. Next the process includes inverting the dimensions of the talus in the contralateral joint and then comparing the dimensions of the calculated talus with a pre-set of dimensions in a database. Next the process includes exporting a set of dimensions to a printer to print a talus implant.
PARTIAL HIP PROSTHESIS
A partial hip prosthesis for reducing friction and wear in partial hip prosthesis by combining optimized geometry of the articulation and surface treatment of the prosthetic component. In the prosthesis, one of the articulating surfaceseither that of the reamed acetabulum, or that of the femoral head prosthesis is a-spherical so that a fluid-filled gap is formed at the area of major load transfer. The fluid-filled gap is sealed by an annular area of contact, over which the concave and the convex components are congruent. A prosthetic head is fixed to the femur by either a conventional stem, a perforated shell, or a femoral neck prosthesis screwed onto the femur so that it is partially covered by bone and partially exposed on the medial-inferior aspect, where it abuts the reamed cortex of the calcar region.
HUMERAL LIMB SALVAGE IMPLANT SYSTEM
A limb replacement implant optionally including a shaft configured to simulate an anatomical shape of a natural humerus, the shaft extending from a proximal end to a distal end. The limb replacement implant optionally including a patch positioned on a portion of the shaft. The patch is at least one of: positioned, sized or shaped as derived from an anatomical counterpart attachment from the natural humerus.
Programmable implant having an angled exterior surface
Various embodiments of implant systems and related apparatus, and methods of operating the same are described herein. In various embodiments, an implant for interfacing with a bone structure includes a web structure, including a space truss, configured to interface with human bone tissue. The space truss includes two or more planar truss units having a plurality of struts joined at nodes. Implants are optimized for the expected stress applied at the bone structure site.
EXPANDABLE IMPLANT
An expandable implant for inserting within a skeletal space is provided, and a method for using the implant to expand the skeletal space. The implant is preferably designed to be inserted into an intervertebral space to replace at least part of an intervertebral disc between adjacent vertebral bodies. The expandable implant contains at least one first expansion compartment and at least one second expansion compartments, which compartments can be inflatable balloons that are inflated by a catheter. Inflating the first expansion compartment expands the implant in a first direction and inflating the second expansion compartment expands the implant in a second direction.
External Bone Anchor System for Joint Replacement Implants
A device for strengthening new joints in animals after joint replacement surgery includes a flexible bone anchor that connects to the new implant material on one end and to cortical bone on the other end.
Femoral trochlea prostheses
Various embodiments of femoral trochlea prostheses useable in a knee joint. The knee joint includes a patella and a distal femur with a femoral trochlea, or patello-femoral groove. In one embodiment, a femoral trochlea prosthesis includes a distal tail. In another embodiment, a femoral trochlea prosthesis includes a wing or extension portion. In yet another embodiment, a set of femoral trochlea prostheses includes a plurality of prostheses having differing thicknesses. In still another embodiment, a femoral trochlea prosthesis includes a porous medium on various portions of the prosthesis.
FUSION CAGE IMPLANT WITH LATTICE STRUCTURE AND GROOVES
Various exemplary embodiments relate to a spinal implant for insertion between two vertebrae, the spinal implant including: a cage including: a frame sized to be inserted between the two vertebrae; a lattice structure disposed at least partially within the frame and exposed on a first and second sides of the frame to permit bone growth into the lattice structure, wherein the first and second sides are on opposite sides of the frame; and grooves on the first and second side of the cage configured to interface with the two vertebrae, wherein the cage is formed of layers of Trabeculite material fused together.
