Sapling reducing apparatus
10206330 · 2019-02-19 ·

A sapling reducing implement for reducing a sapling generally includes a drum, a plurality of reducing elements, a plurality of shields, and a pair of skids. The drum is configured to be rotatably driven and to carry the reducing elements thereon. The shields at least partially surround the drum and reducing elements. The reducing elements are configured to extend within an inch of the ground during a downward portion of the drum's rotational cycle. The shields define, at least in part, a tree entrance opening to receive the sapling. The ground skids are respectively attached to the side shields and can engage the ground during travel.

Remotely adjustable row divider for an agricultural harvester

A header for an agricultural vehicle includes: a header frame; at least one crop remover carried by the header frame; a plurality of row dividers pivotably carried by the header frame; and at least one divider lifter coupled to at least one of the row dividers and configured to activate in order to pivot the coupled at least one row divider relative to the header frame. The at least one divider lifter is configured to be selectively activated by a remote controller.

A harvester that includes a harvester aggregate for felling, trimming and preparing tree trunks, a first measuring device provided in connection with the harvester aggregate for measuring of at least one dimension of a tree trunk. The harvester includes a second measuring device for measuring a feature of the first measuring device, whereby the feature is an attribute reflecting the capability of the first measuring device to measure the dimension correctly, and a control unit configured to make a comparison between an actual value of the measured feature and a target value of the feature, whereby the target value is indicative of a state of the first measuring device, where its measurement of the dimension is considered to be correct.

A harvesting head yield monitor comprises two sensing elements (328, 330) respectively disposed in two adjacent row unit covers (114). A driver circuit (400) drives one of these sensing elements (328) to produce a high radio frequency signal. The other sensing element (330) receives the signal. A signal conditioning circuit (402) receives the signal from the other sensing element. A controller (404) coupled to the signal conditioning circuit converts the received signal into a signal that indicates the crop yield of the row unit that is disposed underneath the two adjacent row unit covers.
