An elbow arthroplasty system having a ball and a socket. The ball is configured for coupling to at least one member of one of the following groups: (i) a humerus, and (ii) a radius, an ulna, or both of the radius and the ulna. The socket is configured for coupling to at least one member of the other of the following groups: (i) the humerus, and (ii) the radius, the ulna, or both of the radius and the ulna. The socket defines a cavity that is configured to receive at least a portion of the ball. The ball may be a spheroid, an ellipsoid, a sphere, or a portion of one of the foregoing with a convex surface. An elbow prosthesis constructed in accordance to one example of the present teachings can include a capitellar implant having an articulating head and a stem. The articulating head can have a first articulating surface positioned generally between a lateral side and a medial side. A passage can extend through the articulating head from the lateral side to the medial side. The articulating head can define a counterbore formed at the lateral side and that is concentric with the passage. According to other features, the elbow prosthesis can include a coronoid implant that has a body and a stem. The body can have a superior articulating surface that includes a central ridge and an anterior buttress. The central ridge can be configured to accommodate articulation with a trochlea in an implanted position.

Radial head prosthesis with floating articular member

System, including apparatus, methods, and kits, for replacement of the proximal end of a radial bone with a prosthesis having a floating articular member. The prosthesis may include a head portion connected or connectable to a stem portion. While the stem portion remains operatively connected to the head portion, the head portion and/or an articular member thereof may be permitted to float in position relative to the stem portion. The head portion/articular member may float transversely (e.g., translationally) and/or rotationally with respect to the stem portion. The articular member may articulate with a humeral bone or both a humeral bone and an ulnar bone. In some embodiments, the head portion may include a fixed member for articulation with an ulnar bone and a floating member for articulation with a humeral bone.

Radial-capitellar implant

A radial-capitellar implant for surgical replacement of the capitellum of the humerus and, optionally, the head of the radius. The radial-capitellar implant includes a capitellar implant or surface replacement arthroplasty of the capitellum and a radial prosthesis for replacement of the head of the radius. In one embodiment the radial prosthesis includes an articular head which moveable articulates with a stem implantable in the radius.

An implant system and method of placing the implant system. The implant system has: an intramedullary part with a stem configured to be directed into a bone/bone part; and a terminal part which in turn cooperates with another mechanical or anatomical part. Connectors on the intramedullary part and terminal part cooperate so that the connectors thereon can be placed in a starting position and thereafter relatively moved within a first path to be engaged. A fixation component is advanced into an opening defined by the intramedullary part and/or terminal part to produce a wedging action that generates forces between cooperating surfaces/parts on the intramedullary part and terminal part applied in directions other than along the line of the first path of the terminal part and the intramedullary part.
