Shoulder prosthesis with variable inclination humeral head component

Methods and devices are disclosed for joint (e.g., shoulder) arthroplasty, including for reverse joint arthroplasty. In one aspect, there is provided a trial device for determining inclination, offset, and/or version of a prosthetic tray with respect to a prosthetic stem or stemless implant. In another aspect, there is provided a joint (e.g., shoulder) prosthesis, which allows for variable offset, inclination or version or any combination thereof. In another aspect, there is provided a method for setting an offset or inclination angle or a version angle or any combination thereof of a prosthetic tray with respect to a stem or stemless device implanted or to be implanted in a bone of a joint (e.g., shoulder) by matching the corresponding offset or version or inclination or any combination thereof to a trial device.

INTERNAL OSSEOINTEGRATED IMPLANT FOR TRANSFEMORAL AMPUTEE

The present invention is an internal osseointegrated transfemoral amputee implant device and related methods. The device is designed to restore the enclosed nature of the bone marrow system which is disrupted by amputation, plus provide a pressure tolerant (weight-bearing) surface and mechanical anchoring for the iliotibial band.

Elbow prosthesis

An elbow prosthesis constructed in accordance to one example of the present teachings can include a capitellar implant having an articulating head and a stem. The articulating head can have a first articulating surface positioned generally between a lateral side and a medial side. A passage can extend through the articulating head from the lateral side to the medial side. The articulating head can define a counterbore formed at the lateral side and that is concentric with the passage. According to other features, the elbow prosthesis can include a coronoid implant that has a body and a stem. The body can have a superior articulating surface that includes a central ridge and an anterior buttress. The central ridge can be configured to accommodate articulation with a trochlea in an implanted position.

Complete Replacement Elbow Joint with Replaceable Parts
20210007854 · 2021-01-14 ·

This is an application for a patent filing of an original type of articulating prosthetic human elbow joints, with replaceable parts.

Intramedullary nails located on the base of each joint is used to secure the joint in bones of the humerus and ulna. The intramedullary nail has small pimples in it like a golf ball that allows bone cells to granulate in and attach themselves permanently to the intramedullary nail. This configuration requires only a small amount of adhesive for fixation until the bone cells granulate into the intramedullary nail for a firm permanent attachment.

The joint is equipped with humeral and ulnar pieces that contain the articulating surfaces for the joint. The articulating surfaces are replaceable, this and designed to take the bulk of the load. This is done so that the articulating services will break instead of the bones fracturing when too much of a load is applied to the prosthetic. This is done to alleviate the necessity of total replacement of the joint and allow repairs in situ in a quick and less invasive manner, which should reduce recovery time and time in physical therapy.

ELBOW PROSTHESIS

An elbow prosthesis according to the present teachings can include a stem structure and an articulating component. The stem structure can be operable to be positioned in a bone of a joint. The stem structure can include a stem portion that is operable to be positioned in the bone and a C-shaped body portion having a first retaining mechanism formed thereon. The articulating component can have a second retaining mechanism formed thereon. One of the first and second retaining mechanisms can comprise an extension portion and a first anti-rotation portion. The other retaining mechanism can comprise a receiving portion and a second anti-rotation portion. The articulating component can be advanced from an insertion position to an assembled position, such that the first and second mechanisms cooperatively interlock to inhibit translation and rotation of the articulating component relative to the C-shaped body portion of the stem structure.
