METHOD OF STABILIZING A PATIENT'S ULNOHUMERAL JOINT
20180021142 · 2018-01-25 ·

A method of stabilizing a patient's ulnohumeral joint including the steps of: obtaining a stabilizing assembly having a mounting portion and a buttressing portion; and implanting the stabilizing assembly into an operative position wherein the mounting portion of the stabilizing assembly is anchored at a proximal region of the patient's ulna and the buttressing portion is situated to abut the patient's humerus so as to limit subluxation at the ulnohumeral joint while allowing movement between the patient's ulna and humerus at the patient's ulnohumeral joint.

Elbow arthroplasty apparatus, system, and method

The present disclosure generally relates to an elbow arthoplasty prosthesis that includes an ulnar component, a humeral component, one or more articulation liners, and a retention trap. The ulnar component includes a spherical bearing head that can be inserted into the humeral component in a number of orientations. The articulation liners and the retention trap are operatively engaged to the humeral component to retain the ulnar component within a humeral socket. The present disclosure also relates to methods of assembling and implanting the prosthetic device.

ELBOW JOINT PROSTHESES

An ulnar implant configured for implantation at an end portion of an ulna. The ulnar implant may be configured to articulate with a portion of a humerus, which may be a native end surface of the humerus bone or a humeral implant. The ulnar implant may have a curved or saddle shaped member. The curved or saddle shaped member may include a first concave surface and a second convex surface.

An elbow prosthesis constructed in accordance to one example of the present teachings can include a capitellar implant having an articulating head and a stem. The articulating head can have a first articulating surface positioned generally between a lateral side and a medial side. A passage can extend through the articulating head from the lateral side to the medial side. The articulating head can define a counterbore formed at the lateral side and that is concentric with the passage. According to other features, the elbow prosthesis can include a coronoid implant that has a body and a stem. The body can have a superior articulating surface that includes a central ridge and an anterior buttress. The central ridge can be configured to accommodate articulation with a trochlea in an implanted position.

Elbow prosthesis and method for use

The elbow prosthesis includes an ulnar component that has a bearing end and a stem. The stem is attached to the bearing end and extends in a distal direction from it. The elbow prosthesis also has a humeral component that includes a holder end and a stem with the stem extending in a proximal direction from the holder end. The prosthesis further includes at least one bearing member that is connected to the holder end with the bearing end being attached within the holder end to allow for rotation and articulation against the at least one bearing member. The bearing end and holder end are attached to each other by a coupling mechanism that includes an opening positioned on the posterior aspect of the holder end and a mating surface on the bearing body. A method of using the elbow prosthesis and a total elbow prosthesis kit are also disclosed.

APPARATUS, SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR ASSISTING A PATH OF MOTION

A prosthetic joint (200) for assisting a path of motion that includes a first component (118) including a first magnet (130a, 130b, 130c); a second component (124) engaging with the first component, the second component including a second magnet (126), and wherein the second magnet is located with respect to the first magnet so as to be in magnetic attraction when the first component and/or the second component is moved along the path of motion.
