A unicompartmental orthopedic knee implant may include a tibial tray including a body having a joint-facing side, a bone-facing side opposite the joint-facing side, a side wall extending about a periphery of the body, and a channel extending through the bone-facing side from one of the joint-facing side or the side wall, the channel being angled relative to the bone-facing side of the body. The implant may also include a fixation element coupled to the body. The fixation element may include a rail for insertion into the channel of the body, a support extending from the rail, and a bone engagement feature connected to the support, the bone engagement feature including an edge operable to penetrate the tibia, wherein the bone engagement feature is inserted through the channel.

A method of implanting a shoulder prosthesis assembly is provided where the method includes advancing by rotation a base member, that includes a cylindrical member and a helical structure, into a resection face of a humerus of a patient such that the helical structure is submerged in and engages cancellous bone of and does not extend distally of an epiphysis of the humerus, the cylindrical member being accessible at the resection face of the humerus when the base member is so advanced; advancing a locking device into the base member until at least one elongate member spans a space between adjacent portions of the helical structure to contact the cancellous bone in the space; and inserting a retention portion of a reverse articular insert into the cylindrical member of the base member to directly connect the reverse articular insert with the cylindrical member of the base member.

Humeral implant anchor system

A stemless humeral shoulder assembly having a base member and an anchor advanceable into the base member. The base member can include a distal end that can be embedded in bone and a proximal end that can be disposed at a bone surface. The base member can also have a plurality of spaced apart arms projecting from the proximal end to the distal end. The anchor can project circumferentially into the arms and into a space between the arms. When the anchor is advanced into the base member, the anchor can be exposed between the arms. A recess can project distally from a proximal end of the anchor to within the base member. The recess can receive a mounting member of an anatomical or reverse joint interface.

Stemless prosthesis anchor components and kits

A prosthesis assembly is provided that includes a base member that has a helical structure and a cylindrical member opposite the helical structure. The cylindrical member is configured for direct connection with a reverse insert of a reverse shoulder assembly. The cylindrical member is configured for direct connection with a reverse insert spacer in some embodiments. The reverse insert can be inserted into a space defined at least in part by a wall of the cylindrical member and an inferior wall of the of the base member. The helical structure extends between a first end and a second end. The base member also can include one or more pathways. The pathway(s) is accessible from the second end and is directed toward the first end through the helical structure. The pathway is located inward of an outer periphery of the helical structure, e.g., adjacent to an inner periphery of the helical structure. The pathway extends in a space between successive portions of the helical structure. The prosthesis assembly can include a locking device that has a support member and an arm that projects away from the support member. The arm is configured to be disposed in the pathway when the support member is disposed adjacent to the second end of the base member. The arm is disposed through bone in the space between successive portions of the helical structure when the prosthesis assembly is implanted.

Stemless shoulder implant with button lock

A system for shoulder repair includes a prosthetic stemless shoulder implant including a base member extending along a longitudinal axis from a first side to a second side. The second side adapted to engage bone of a patient. The base member defines a hole that extends along the longitudinal axis and through the second side of the base member for receiving a flexible member therethrough. The system includes a fixation construct including a first fixation device and a second fixation device, the first and second fixation devices connected by the flexible member. While the first fixation device is positioned outside of the second side of the base member and the second fixation device is positioned within the base member, the flexible member is adapted to tension the first fixation device with respect to the second fixation device.

Stemless Metaphyseal Humeral Implant

A stemless prosthetic shoulder joint may include a prosthetic humeral head and a stemless base. The stemless base may include a collar and an anchor extending from the collar intended to anchor the base into the proximal humerus. The anchor may include various features to enhance the fixation of the base, including hooks, threads, and/or expandable members that may be transitioned from a contracted insertion condition to an expanded implanted condition once the base is positioned in the bone. The anchor and/or collar may also include additional features to enhance fixation, such as geometries and surface features to enhance fixation to bone. The anchor may include a plurality of chisel slots to facilitate removal of bone during a revision surgery.
