Reverse shoulder prosthetic
A reverse modular humeral implant for implantation into a humerus that includes a natural humeral shaft and a natural humeral head. The implant includes a humeral stem implantable into the natural humeral shaft, and an adapter couplable to the humeral stem, the adapter including an anchoring projection configured to be coupled to a convex bearing.
Shoulder prosthesis and components thereof
The present disclosure relates to a shoulder prosthesis comprising a glenoidal component having a glenoidal articulation surface and a humeral component having a humeral articulation surface, and a separate mobile glenohumeral bearing component comprising a glenoidal bearing surface and a humeral bearing surface arranged on opposite sides of the glenohumeral bearing component. The glenoidal bearing surface contacts in an implanted state the glenoidal articulation surface and/or the humeral bearing surface contacts in an implanted state the humeral articulation surface. At least one of the glenoidal and humeral bearing surfaces is concave. The glenohumeral bearing component is disposed in an implanted state between the glenoidal component and the humeral component. Both the glenoidal and humeral articulation surfaces are convex.
System and method for implanting a secondary glenoid prosthesis
A method of implanting a shoulder prosthesis in a scapula of a patient includes the step of placing a guide over a primary glenoid component previously implanted within the scapula of the patient. The method further includes the steps of removing the primary glenoid component from the scapula and preparing the scapula for implantation of a secondary glenoid component, wherein the removing and preparing steps occur simultaneously.
SHOULDER PROSTHESIS COMPONENTS AND ASSEMBLIES
Various embodiments disclosed herein relate to stemmed and stemless humeral anchors for use in shoulder arthroplasty procedures. For example, the humeral anchor can include a first end, a second end, and an interior surface extending between the first end and the second end. The interior surface can be disposed about a recess disposed between the first end and the second end. The recess can be configured to secure a coupling of a shoulder articular body directly to the interior surface.
ORTHOPEDIC SURGICAL IMPLANT DEVICE WITH POROUS MATERIAL AND FLUID CHANNELS FOR CLEANING THE POROUS MATERIAL
This disclosure describes a surgical implant device comprising a body that includes a porous material forming at least a portion of the body, wherein the porous material is configured to promote bone ingrowth and is porous to a fluid. In addition, one or more fluid channels are formed in the body. The one or more fluid channels are arranged to define a fluidic path that exits into the porous material.
GLENOID IMPLANT
A glenoid implant includes a body, a plurality of fins, a collet, and a plug. The body has a central aperture therethrough and a plurality of slots. Each of the plurality of fins are coupled with a respective one of the plurality of slots of the boss of the body such that each of the plurality of fins is configured to move from a first generally inward position towards a second generally outward position. The collet including an interior threaded bore and a plurality of deflectable arms. The plug includes a threaded portion and a tip portion configured to engage with and cause the plurality of deflectable arms of the collet to move and cause the plurality of fins to move from the first generally inward position towards the second generally outward position, thereby aiding in securing the body to a scapula of a patient.
Humeral trays with tuberosity augments sufficiently designed to improve joint mechanics
Disclosed is a prosthetic augment designed to reconstruct a lateral tuberosity shape of a humerus in a subject having proximal bone loss that includes a humeral adapter tray configured to connect a humeral liner of a reverse shoulder prosthesis to a humeral stem of the reverse shoulder prosthesis and an augment member having a first face adapted for contacting the humeral stem of the reverse shoulder prosthesis and a second face adapted for contacting an underside of a muscle, wherein at least a portion of the second face includes a bulbous surface adapted to alter a wrapping angle of the muscle around the lateral tuberosity, and wherein the second face has a radius of curvature selected from one of a constant radius of curvature or a variable radius of curvature.
GLENOID BASEPLATE AND IMPLANT ASSEMBLIES
A glenoid baseplate is provided that has a transverse body and an elongate body. The transverse body has a first side configured to engage scapula bone of a patient, a second side configured to face away from the first side, and a plurality of anchor apertures. The anchor apertures are formed between the first side and the second side. The transverse body also can have an arcuate or circular periphery that has an anterior portion configured to be oriented toward an anterior side of a scapula and a posterior portion that is configured to be oriented toward a posterior side of the scapula. The elongate body is disposed along a longitudinal axis between an end coupled with the first side of the transverse body. The longitudinal axis of the elongate body is off-set from the center of the circular periphery.
TRI-FLANGE HUMERAL PROSTHESIS
In some embodiments, disclosed is a glenohumeral implant with improved joint mobility. The implant can include a backing component; a neutral non-inclined bearing component on a concave side of the backing component, the bearing component made from a different material than the backing component and configured to touch a glenosphere having a center of rotation.
