Bone joint replacement and repair assembly and method of repairing and replacing a bone joint
A bone joint repair and replacement assembly. A first portion comprising a bone plate is configured to attach to a distal or proximal end of a bone proximate the joint, generally coaxially with an axis defined by the bone. A second portion comprising an articular surface is configured to attach to the first portion, generally normal with respect to the axis, and inserted into the joint. Although versions of the assembly can be configured for use with several different pivotal joints, the invention is particularly suitable for full or partial replacement of an elbow, wherein the articular surface is pivotally attached to the first portion. Another embodiment of the invention is provided to repair a fractured bone head proximate the joint, and still another embodiment of the invention is provided to repair rotator cuff-related shoulder injuries.
Elbow joint prostheses
A radial head assembly is provided that includes a stem, a collar, a locking ring, and an articular member. The stem has a convex articular head on one end thereof. The locking ring has a ring wall, which has a ring opening. The ring wall has an angular outer surface and a slot configured to permit the ring wall to radially expand. The angular outer surface engages an angular portion of an interior surface of the collar. The articular member and the locking ring define an articular space within the collar. The articular space is configured to receive the convex articular head.

Magnetic locking mechanism (MLM) for joint arthroplasty
A method of implanting a joint prosthesis assembly for joint arthroplasty using a coupling mechanism is disclosed. The method includes exposing a joint of a patient, resecting a portion of the joint, inserting a second prosthesis of the joint prosthesis assembly into a medullary canal, and inserting a first prosthesis of the joint prosthesis assembly from a lateral side of the joint. The joint prosthesis assembly includes a magnet. The magnet is configured to lock the first prosthesis of the joint prosthesis assembly to the second prosthesis of the joint prosthesis assembly. The first prosthesis of the joint prosthesis assembly includes a recess. The second prosthesis of the joint prosthesis assembly includes a protrusion. The recess is configured to house the protrusion. Alternatively, the first prosthesis and the second prosthesis may be assembled in a direct line using the magnet for secure coupling of the components.
RADIAL HEAD FRACTURE TREATMENT SYSTEM
A system and methods are provided for treating radial head fractures. The system includes an implant, a sterile instrument kit for radial head arthroplasty, and a head sizer and assembly tray for sizing and assembling implants. The implant includes a head that is coupled with a stem. The head is adapted to be placed into sliding contact with a capitellum of the radiocapitellar joint. The stem is configured to be inserted into a hole reamed into a medullary canal of the radial head. The sterile instrument kit comprises a multiplicity of instruments including any one or more of trial heads and trial stems, a starter awl, a reamer, a planar, an inserter cap, and an impactor. The instruments are configured for implanting the implant into the radiocapitellar joint such that the implant restores biomechanical properties of the joint.
