Alignment instruments and methods for use in total ankle replacement
Alignment instruments may include joint-line referencing systems having an alignment arm having a body with first and second portions defining first and second sides. The first portion has at least one first pin tube through-hole extending from the first to the second side. The second portion has a first opening on the first side. A pin tube guide member is receivable in the first through-hole. The pin tube guide member has a passageway therethrough. An angelwing alignment member includes a portion receivable in the first opening of the alignment arm. An alignment foot is secured to the second portion, and the alignment foot has a handle and a shim. The shim is positionable in a joint between a first bone and a second bone, the alignment arm is alignable relative to a first bone, and the pin tube guide is operable for securing a pin into the first bone.

Joint or segmental bone implant for deformity correction
An implant is provided for use in an ankle joint between reconditioned end surfaces established on a distal end of an upper tibia bone and an opposing lower talus bone. The implant comprises a substantially porous rigid component adapted to be anchored against the upper tibia reconditioned end surface and the lower talus reconditioned end surface. The component defining an opening therethrough. An intramedullary nail is configured to pass through the opening in the component when the nail is driven through the talus and into the tibia.
ANKLE REPLACEMENT SYSTEM AND METHOD
Various surgical devices and methods are disclosed herein. Also disclosed is multi-component prosthesis, which can be used as an ankle prosthesis. One of the disclosed surgical alignment systems includes a guide arm, a ratchet arm frame configured to be coupled slidably to the guide arm, a ratchet arm configured to be coupled to the ratchet arm frame, and a sagittal sizing guide body configured to be coupled to the ratchet arm. The sagittal sizing guide body includes a first radiopaque object disposed at a first position and a second radiopaque object disposed at a second position that is spaced apart from the first position.
FIXATION APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR TOTAL ANKLE REPLACEMENT
A device comprises a base. A support is attached to the base. The support is shaped to receive a calf of a person and adapted to receive a wire or pin for securing a tibia of a person. A foot plate is attachable to the base. The foot plate has a plurality of attached members. The members are configured for receiving at least a first wire or pin to fix a foot of the person relative to the foot plate while the foot plate is oriented normal to a superior-inferior direction of the foot. The foot plate is rotatable relative to the base while the foot plate is attached to the base.
SET OF TOOLS FOR INSTALLING AN IMPLANT
A set of tools for installation of a stem implant into a bone comprises a stem-shaped priming tool (1) having a distal tip (32) and a plurality of cutting teeth (31) along a length thereof and a plurality of stem-shaped broaches (2, 3, 4, 5, 6) of different size. Each of the broaches have a distal tip (32) and a plurality of cutting teeth (31) along a length thereof. The priming tool (1) is shorter than, has more cutting teeth (31) per unit length, and has a sharper distal tip (32) than the smallest broach.
INTEROSSEOUS COUPLER
A system includes an interosseous coupler and a driver. The interosseous coupler includes a first anchor; a second anchor; and a tether extending between the first anchor and the second anchor. The driver is configured to couple to the first anchor and the second anchor and apply rotational force to the first anchor and the second anchor.
Prosthetic ankle with a flat section
A prosthetic ankle includes a tibial portion likely to be connected to the lower end of a tibia, a talus portion likely to be connected to a talus, and a pad inserted between the tibial portion and the talus portion. The tibial portion includes an articular surface likely to engage with a contact surface of the pad. The talus portion includes a curved articular surface likely to engage with a contact surface of the pad. The articular surface of the tibial portion is curved, concave and includes a flat section forming an extension to the rear of said articular surface.
