An expandable interbody spacer for the spine is provided. The interbody spacer includes a housing, a top endplate and a bottom endplate. An actuator is located inside the housing between the top and bottom endplates. A locking screw is configured to drive the actuator and move the endplates between collapsed and expanded configurations. Variations of the expandable spacer are provided in which the endplates move bilaterally outwardly into uniform and parallel expansion along the latitudinal axis, the endplates angulate about a pivot point along a longitudinal axis such that the distal end of the spacer increases in height relative to the proximal end, and the endplates angulate about a pivot along a lateral axis such that the height along one lateral side of the spacer increases in height relative to the other lateral side.

A facet joint replacement device includes an enclosing element including an enclosing body and an inferior attachment member. The enclosing body includes an inner cavity defined by an interior surface of the enclosing body, wherein a portion of the interior surface of the enclosing body forms a superior articulating surface. The facet joint replacement device also includes an inferior articulating element including an articulating body and a superior attachment member. The inferior articulating body is positioned within the inner cavity of the enclosing body of the enclosing element and is configured to move within the inner cavity of the enclosing body of the enclosing element. The inferior articulating body includes an inferior articulating surface. The movement of the articulating body of the inferior articulating element is constrained in at least one direction within the inner cavity of the enclosing body of the enclosing element.

Flexible anchoring and fusion devices and methods of using the same

A spacer member is provided that is configured to be implanted adjacent an anatomical structure. The spacer member defines a curved bore, a first opening in a side wall of the spacer member and a second opening in one of a top wall and a bottom wall of the spacer member. Each of the first opening and the second opening are in fluid communication with the curved bore. A flexible anchoring member is configured to be inserted through the side opening and through the curved bore of the spacer member such that a distal end portion of the flexible anchoring member extends out of the second opening at an angle relative to the one of the top wall and the bottom wall of the spacer member.

Expandable intervertebral implants and methods of installation thereof

Embodiments herein are generally directed to expandable spinal implants, systems, apparatuses, and components thereof that can be used in spinal fusion and/or stabilization procedures, as well as methods of installation. The expandable spinal implants may be configured for lateral insertion.

Spinal Fixation Device

A spinal fixation device includes an outer housing and an end plate assembly coupled with the outer housing. The outer housing defines an aperture and a longitudinal axis. At least a portion of the end plate assembly is slidably received within the outer housing. The end plate assembly includes a first end plate configured to engage a vertebral body, wherein the end plate assembly is selectively movable between a first position in which the first end plate is spaced apart from the outer housing and a second position in which the first end plate is adjacent the outer housing. Further, the first end plate is selectively adjustable to an angular orientation of a plurality of angular orientations with respect to the longitudinal axis of the outer housing.

Orthopaedic surgical instrument for total hip arthroplasty and associated orthopaedic surgical method of use

An orthopaedic surgical instrument includes an assembly collar having a cavity extending between a superior opening and an inferior opening. The cavity is sized to receive a tapered trunnion of an implanted femoral stem. A bore extends between an inferior end and a superior end of the assembly collar and is configured to align with an implant bore formed in the implanted femoral stem. The bore and the implant bore are configured to receive a fastener to secure the assembly collar to the implanted femoral stem. A method of utilizing the orthopaedic surgical instrument is also contemplated.

CANAL SPARING HUMERAL IMPLANT AND RELATED METHODS

A humeral implant is provided. The implant includes a humeral stem including a plurality of fins. At least one fin comprises a serrated bottom edge. A radial distance between an inner bottom edge of the at least one fin and a centerline of the humeral implant increases along a distal length of extension of the at least one fin. At least the serrated bottom edge of the at least one fin is configured to cut into and compact bone of the metaphysis of a humerus toward relatively denser cancellous bone of a peripheral portion of the humerus when press-fit therein, thereby providing sufficient press-fitting for cementless fixation of the humeral stem into the humerus. Related kits and methods are also provided.

EXPANDING INTERVERTEBRAL IMPLANTS

A spacer separates bones of a joint using a driver tool having a threaded shaft. The spacer has a superior endplate with inferior facing ramps, and an inferior endplate with superior facing ramps. Two bearings are positioned between the endplates, each bearing has superior facing ramps which mate with the inferior facing ramps of the superior endplate, and inferior facing ramps which mate with the superior facing ramps of the inferior endplate. One bearing has a threaded aperture, and the other a thrust surface. A threaded shaft is threaded into the threaded aperture to push against the thrust surface to drive the bearings apart. As the bearings move apart, the mated ramps slide against each other to drive the superior and inferior endplates apart.

EXPANDABLE FUSION DEVICE AND METHOD OF INSTALLATION THEREOF
20210378836 · 2021-12-09 ·

An expandable fusion device capable of being installed inside an intervertebral disc space to maintain normal disc spacing and restore spinal stability, thereby facilitating an intervertebral fusion. The intervertebral implant may be configured to transition from a collapsed configuration having a first width and a first height to an expanded configuration having a second width and a second height.

Spinal stabilization systems with quick-connect sleeve assemblies for use in surgical procedures

In some embodiments, a spinal stabilization system may be formed in a patient using quick-connect sleeve assemblies. Each quick-connect sleeve assembly can be coupled to a bone fastener assembly in a fast and intuitive way. In one embodiment, a quick-connect sleeve assembly has a detachable member and a movable member. Both members engage a collar of the bone fastener assembly. In one embodiment, the engagement can be locked via one or more locking features to facilitate screwing a bone fastener of the bone fastener assembly onto a vertebral body in a minimally invasive surgical procedure. Each quick-connect sleeve assembly has a low profile and is particularly shaped for minimally invasive entry.
