Denuder
11872599 · 2024-01-16 · ·

A method of denuding bone stock with a denuder, such as a bone stock denuder container, is disclosed. The bone stock is deposited into a wash chamber formed with a curved chamber wall. The bone stock is impacted with a stream of fluid under pressure to separate non-bone tissue from bone. Fluid and non-bone tissue are drained from the wash chamber.

SYSTEM AND METHOD OF BONE PROCESSING

A system and method of processing bone is disclosed. A tissue separator is utilized to separate tissue comprising at least one of muscle, periosteum and connective tissue from bone in a safe, sterile and efficient manner. In one aspect, the particle reducer can include an impeller positioned with respect to a cutting surface on a drum. At least one of the impeller and the drum is rotated by a power source such that harvested tissue frictionally engages the cutting surface. In another aspect, a source of pressurized fluid can be directed at tissue to separate bone from non-bone tissue.

System for processing bone stock including a bone cleaning head, a bone milling head and base that powers both the cleaning head and the milling head

A system for cleaning bone that includes a base unit with a motor, a cleaning head with a cleaning element and a mill head with a mill element. Both the cleaning head and the mill head are designed to be coupled to the base unit. Both the cleaning element and mill element have features that facilitate their coupling to the motor. When the cleaning head is attached to the base unit, a motor in the base unit rotates the cleaning element to remove soft tissue from the bone so as to clean the bone. The mill element is placed on the base unit and the cleaned bone placed in the mill head. The actuation of the base unit motor results in the actuations of the mill element. The actuation of the mill element converts the cleaned bone into bone chips.

BONE MATERIAL HYDRATION DEVICES AND METHODS

A device for hydrating particulate bone material is provided. The device comprises a tubular member having an interior surface and an exterior surface. The interior surface is configured to receive the particulate bone material and a hydration fluid. The exterior surface has a plurality of pores configured to allow the hydration fluid to flow into the interior surface of the tubular member and hydrate the particulate bone material. The plurality of pores are smaller in size than the particulate bone material. Methods of dispensing particulate the bone material are also provided.

COLLAGEN-BASED MENISCUS IMPLANTS
20200038193 · 2020-02-06 ·

A method for producing a collagen meniscus implant by obtaining a freshly excised non-human meniscus, rinsing it in an aqueous solution, drying the rinsed meniscus, shaping it to approximate in dimension an average-sized human meniscus, extracting non-collagenous material from the shaped meniscus, cross-linking, and sterilizing it, yielding a collagen meniscus implant containing at least 90% by weight of type I collagen, less than 0.5% by weight of native glycosaminoglycan, and less than 600 ppm DNA. Also disclosed is a collagen meniscus implant prepared by the above method. Further provided is a biocompatible and bioresorbable porous implant for meniscus repair. The implant includes a three-dimensional network of collagen fibers oriented in a direction approximating the collagen fiber orientation of a human meniscus. The implant has a size and a contour substantially equivalent to a human meniscus, and has a chemical composition similar to the above-described collagen meniscus implant.

DENUDER

A denuder, such as a bone stock denuder container, is disclosed. The denuder includes a nozzle and a container body. The nozzle is configured to be fluidically coupled to a source of fluid and to direct a fluid stream. The container body includes curved chamber wall that forms a wash chamber. The wash chamber is configured to receive a bone stock. The nozzle is configured to direct the fluid stream to impact the curved chamber wall.

STERILE WATER DISPERSION SYSTEM FOR ALLOGRAFT PREPARATION AND PROCESSING
20190388244 · 2019-12-26 · ·

There is disclosed a system and method for dispersing sterile water from a circulating high-purity water system to a processing field containing allograft tissue. One embodiment includes a fluid inlet that is fluidly coupled with and configured to receive sterile water from the water system. The dispersion system also includes at least first and second fluid outlets that are selectively operable to deliver respective first and second fluid streams into different areas of the processing field. At least one of the first and second fluid outlets may be associated with a regulator valve configured to provide an adjustable flowrate to conserve water pulled from the circulating water system to meet the needs of the application taking place within the processing field. Other embodiments are also disclosed.
