A surgical instrument includes a housing, an outer shaft, an inner shaft, a trial sizer, a rod, and a head. The outer shaft is operatively coupled with the housing such that rotation of the housing causes axial displacement of the outer shaft. The outer shaft includes a keel cutter configured to form a channel in a vertebral body. The inner shaft disposed within the outer shaft. The trial sizer is configured to be received in intervertebral space. The trial sizer includes a pair of wings transitionable between a retracted position and an extended position in which the pair of wings extends transversely outward. The head is connected to the rod, wherein the head is operatively coupled with the pair of wings such that axial displacement of the rod causes transition of the pair of wings between the retracted and extended positions.

This disclosure is directed to methods for reconstructing an unstable triangular fibrocartilage complex (TFCC). Exemplary methods include preparing, delivering, and fixating a graft within a distal radioulnar joint in a manner that restores the functionality to the TFCC, thereby improving the joint kinematics of the radioulnar joint.

A system of prosthetic implants for a total knee replacement procedure is provided. The system includes a tibial component of a knee joint implant, a tibial insert configured to be positioned against the superior side of the platform of the tibial component, a first femoral component of a knee joint implant, and a second femoral component of a knee joint implant.

Femoral head centre of rotation locating device

The invention provides a femoral head centre of rotation locating device (10) comprising an adjustable frame (12) having a frame axis (X). The frame includes a central frame portion (14); a first jaw (16) that is linearly moveable relative to the central frame portion along the frame axis and having a first femoral head contacting surface (26); a second jaw (18) that is linearly moveable relative to the central frame portion along the frame axis and having a second femoral head contacting surface (28), and a gear wheel (32) mounted on the central frame portion. The gear wheel has a centric aperture (34) located substantially equidistant from the first and second femoral head contacting surfaces. The gear wheel is operably connected to each of the first and second moveable jaws by gear teeth (30) provided on a surface of each of the first and second moveable jaws. Linear movement of the first jaw in a first direction rotates the gear wheel to cause reciprocal linear movement of the second jaw to maintain the centric aperture at a position equidistant from the first and second femoral head contacting surfaces. This aligns the centric aperture with the native head centre of the femur as the first and second femoral head contacting surfaces come into contact with opposite surfaces of the femoral head.

The present invention provides, in certain embodiments, a device for determining the tibial mechanical axis and the femoral mechanical axis. The present invention also provides a surgical orientation device, a reference device, and/or a module configured to track the mechanical axes during movement to facilitate limb alignment. The present invention further provides the surgical orientation device, the reference device, and/or the module configured to determine a gap measurement.

System and Method for Computer-Aided Surgical Navigation Implementing 3D Scans

A surgical navigation system for providing computer-aided surgery. The surgical navigation system includes a handheld surgical tool with computer-aided navigation, a graphical user interface module, and optionally an imaging device. The handheld surgical tool includes a handle that may comprise at least one sensor for detecting orientation of the. A computing device and at least one display device are associated with the handheld surgical tool and configured to display a target trajectory of the handheld surgical tool for the surgical procedure.

A multifunctional spacer for knee surgery is described comprising a main body configured for use with a single femoral condyle and having an anterior portion of a first height and a posterior portion of a second height, wherein the second height is greater than, equal to or less than the first height. In addition, the anterior portion and/or the posterior portion is provided with an attachment mechanism for selective attachment of a height adjuster.

Bone fusion system, device and method including an insertion instrument

A bone fusion method, system and device for insertion between bones that are to be fused together and/or in place of one or more of the bones, such as, for example, the vertebrae of a spinal column. The bone fusion device comprises one or more extendable tabs having a central rib. The bone fusion device includes one or more support channels configured to receive an insertion instrument that is then secured to the bone fusion device via a coupling mechanism. As a result, the coupled device is able to be securely positioned between vertebrae using the insertion instrument with minimal risk of slippage.
