Facet screw and delivery device
Disclosed is a system for delivering a facet screw assembly to a facet joint. The system includes a facet screw assembly and a delivery device. The distal end of the delivery device includes a facet screw engagement feature, which is keyed to a corresponding delivery device engagement feature. In other embodiments, the system may include a facet screw assembly, a facet access guide, a washer sizer tool removably engaged with the facet access guide, a lateral mass decorticator guide slidably and removably engaged with the washer size tool, a washer implant delivery tool removably engaged with the facet access guide and detachably coupled to the facet screw assembly, and optionally an impact handle detachably coupled to the facet access guide, washer sizer tool, and washer implant delivery tool.
Surgical instrument for operating spinal implant system with dual axis adjustability and method of operating same
A surgical instrument includes a chassis, a first driving shaft, a first measuring mechanism, a second measuring mechanism, and a first handle. The chassis defines a first channel and a second channel each extending from a proximal end to a distal end. The first measuring mechanism corresponds to rotation in the first channel. The second measuring mechanism corresponds to rotation in the second channel. The first driving shaft is operable to be inserted into the first channel, engaging with the first measuring mechanism. The first driving shaft has an end portion configured to engage and drive a first adjustable feature and/or a second adjustable feature on a work-piece. The handle is operable to be releasably attached to the first driving shaft for applying torque or operable to remove the first driving shaft from the first channel.
Mixed-reality surgical system with physical markers for registration of virtual models
An example method includes obtaining, a virtual model of a portion of an anatomy of a patient obtained from a virtual surgical plan for an orthopedic joint repair surgical procedure to attach a prosthetic to the anatomy; identifying, based on data obtained by one or more sensors, positions of one or more physical markers positioned relative to the anatomy of the patient; and registering, based on the identified positions, the virtual model of the portion of the anatomy with a corresponding observed portion of the anatomy.
HIP SURGERY SYSTEMS AND METHODS
Orthopedic systems and methods are provided for use in preparing joints for implants. Specifically, hip preparation systems and methods are disclosed which can include a surgical orientation device. The hip preparation systems and methods can be used, for example, to orient the hip during the procedure, determine the orientation of an anatomical plane or planes, and orient a prosthetic component or components.
SYSTEM AND METHOD FOR INTRAOPERATIVE SURGICAL PLANNING
The subject matter includes systems, methods, and prosthetic devices for joint reconstruction surgery. A computer-assisted intraoperating planning method can include accessing a first medical image providing a first view of a joint within a surgical site as well as receiving selection of a first component of a modular prosthetic device implanted in the first bone of the joint. The method continues by displaying a graphical representation of the first component of the modular prosthetic device overlaid on the first medical image, and updating a graphical representation of the first component based on receiving positioning inputs representative of an implant location of the first component relative to landmarks on the first bone visible within the first medical image. The method concludes by presenting a selection interface enabling visualization of additional components of the modular prosthetic device virtually connected to the first component and overlaid on the first medical image.
SURGICAL MEASUREMENT INSTRUMENT
A surgical measurement instrument for use in surgery is configured so that a measurement operation can be more readily performed using this surgical measurement instrument. The surgical measurement instrument has a laser application portion. The laser application portion is used in surgery to perform treatment on a tibia of a patient. The laser application portion can apply a laser beam to measure a positional relationship between the tibia and a knee joint center.
JIG FOR DETERMINING A PATIENT-ADAPTED IMPLANT SIZE OF THE FEMORAL IMPLANT OF A KNEE ENDOPROSTHESIS
A jig for determining a patient-adapted implant size of a femoral implant of a knee endoprosthesis. The jig has a main body, a probe part movable relative to the main body along a measuring direction. The probe part has an arm with a tip placeable on an anterior reference point of the femur's distal end, two contact pieces for placing on and referencing the medial and lateral posterior condyle of the femur's distal end, and at least one scale and pointer for indicating the probe part's position in the measuring direction relative to the contact pieces. The distance of the probe tip from the contact pieces is adjustable such that the distance is different with respect to the two contact pieces and, for each contact piece, a dedicated scale and an associated pointer are provided for the indication of the probe part's position relative to the respective contact piece.
STABILIZED DRILL GUIDE
A drill guide includes a working portion and a shaft, with a joint formed between the working portion and the shaft so that the shaft is movable relative to the working portion about the joint. The working portion includes at least one drill guide hole which receives a drill for making a hole in a bone. The joint isolates the working portion from unintentional movements of the shaft so that the working portion remains stable against a bone surface. The joint also enables the shaft to be used as a retractor or pry bar against surrounding anatomical structures if desired. The drill guide may be included in a system with an implant component and/or other surgical instruments.
SYSTEMS AND METHODS FOR SIZING AND INTRODUCTION OF SOFT-TISSUE ALLOGRAFTS
The present disclosure includes systems, methods, kits, and individual tools (e.g., trial sizers and delivery devices) for medical procedures involving a soft-tissue allograft for the correction of skeletal impairments (e.g., misalignments, arthritis, etc.).
