A nail polish application system may include a nail polish applicator to apply a curable nail polish to a nail of a user. An energy source may emit energy to selectively cure the curable nail polish. A sensor may be provided to detect a boundary of the nail of the user. The energy source may be configured to direct the energy to (i) the detected boundary of the nail during a first curing stage or (ii) to an area within the detected boundary of the nail during the first curing stage, and to (iii) avoid directing the energy to an area outside the detected boundary of the nail during the first curing stage.

A polish curing assembly for curing and hardening nail polish includes a stand is that may be rolled along a support surface. The method is comprised of brushed on transfer adhesive to the bare nail plate which dries clear, level and tacky (sticky). The color or pattern polyester Mylar foil film is digitally pressure transferred onto the nail plates dry tacky (sticky) surface. The used clear film carrier is discarded. The second flexible adhesive is applied to the foiled nail. The adhesive dries clear, tacky (sticky). The opaque polyester Mylar film is digitally transferred onto the nail plate creating a protection layer. The film carrier is discarded. The foiled nail is sealed with clear nail polish to extend wear.

A nail covering for protecting one or more fingers or toenails from the harmful effects of dust and dirt includes a thin sheet of silicone, shaped and dimensioned to cover the nail. In a preferred embodiment, the thin sheet of silicone is shaped and dimensioned to cover the nail but not any surrounding flesh. In another preferred embodiment, the thin sheet of silicone has an adhesive backing for attaching the thin sheet of silicone to the nail.

A method for use with a toenail or fingernail including a nail plate with a distal nail tip and a distal overgrown portion of a cuticle extending onto the nail plate. The method includes removing, with an electric powered rotatory sanding tool, the distal overgrown portion of the cuticle from the nail plate. The nail plate is buffed after removing the distal overgrown portion of the cuticle. The nail plate is cleaned after buffing the nail plate. A layer of an ultraviolet curable gel is applied to the nail plate by using a brush to push the ultraviolet curable gel onto the nail plate. The layer of the ultraviolet curable gel is exposed to an ultraviolet light source for a sufficient amount of time to cure the layer of the ultraviolet curable gel.

A flexible under-nail support device and method to apply the same that promotes long healthy fingernail growth by providing nail strength and support without any interaction or damage to the nail plate (upper nail) or the hyponychium (thickened epidermis under the nail). The device has an indention, with a preferred embodiment of an inverted V that is positioned under the fingernail and around the hyponychium. Its lateral sides are bonded to at least the nails' lateral undersides to provide extra strength to the nail. The bonded device is then clipped and filed to the natural nails length.
