Functional knit orthopedic device
An orthopedic device includes a textile panel having interior and exterior surfaces, and a first stabilizer assembly including a first tubular welt sewn or knitted within and extending from an exterior surface of the textile panel. A first cable is slidably extending through the tubular welt and a strap is connected to a first end of the cable extending from a first opening of the welt, and the strap is adjustably securable over the textile panel. The orthopedic device may include various portions of stretchability and features for receiving components for the orthopedic device.
ENVELOPING BODY WITH STIFFENING ELEMENTS
The invention relates to an enveloping body for at least partially enveloping a limb, having an enclosed volume and a connection for supplying and removing fluid to the volume or from the volume, wherein the enveloping body forms an inner circumference and an outer circumference; on the enveloping body reinforcement elements are arranged that are designed to be brought into contact as a result of the removal of fluid from the volume or to increase their contact with one another as a result of the removal of liquid.
REMOVABLE PATCH WITH ACTIVE AGENT FOR TEXTILES
A reversibly removable patch or section for textiles, is disclosed and described, the patch or section configured to deliver active compounds to a user, as well as textiles comprising such patches and sections. The patches and sections are configured to provide an amount of active even after repeated uses, wears, applications, and/or launderings and further provide for replacement, thus, extending the usefulness of the textile.
Knee brace devices, systems and methods
A knee brace comprising a frame assembly comprising an outer frame portion and an inner frame portion. The outer frame portion has a first outer transverse member, a second outer transverse member, and an outer side member configured to extend along a length of a first side of a user's leg when worn by the user, the outer side member extending between the first outer transverse member and the second outer transverse member. The inner frame portion has a first inner transverse member, a second inner transverse member, and an inner side member opposite the outer side member and is configured to extend along a length of a second side of a user's leg when worn by the user, the second side member extending between the first inner transverse member and the second inner transverse member. The outer frame portion and inner frame portion define a top portion of the frame assembly and a bottom portion of the frame assembly, the top and bottom portions configured to be pivotable relative to each other. The frame assembly additionally comprises a flex member connecting the inner frame portion and the outer frame portion in at least one of the top and bottom portions of the frame assembly. In embodiments, a securement system may be included to form a knee brace assembly or system.
Wearable System for Evaluating Joint Performance and Function
One embodiment of a disclosed wearable plyowrap with a plurality of fluid embedded into the structure of the plyowrap to support a joint of the user. A brace feedback system receives sensor data describing the movement of the joint. The sensor data is collected by an array of tension sensors embedded into the plyowrap. The collected sensor data is input to a machine-learning model to generate a prediction of the performance of the joint and determine whether the joint is at risk of a biomechanical compromise based on the predicted performance of the joint. The brace feedback system generates instructions for adjusting structural properties of the plyowrap to improve performance of the joint by activating electroactive gels in fluid chambers of the plyowrap to adjust the pliability of the plyowrap. The brace feedback system transmits the instructions to a local controller coupled to the plyowrap.
ORTHOPEDIC DEVICES AND SYSTEMS INTEGRATED WITH SENSORS AND CONTROLLING DEVICES
An orthopedic support and/or treatment system including a brace, sleeve, and/or insert, comprising a power subsystem; a sensor subsystem; an adjustment mechanism; a software subsystem; a communication subsystem; and a telemedicine subsystem. The orthopedic treatment system includes and communicates over a network to a remote controlling device. The remote control device can be a computer, a mobile device, or any other controller. The sensor subsystem communicates to the remote control device, which in turn can be used to control the adjustment mechanism to adjust a tension or compression of the brace or sleeve.
Medical, in particular orthopaedic, aid
A medical, in particular orthopaedic, aid (1, 1′, 1″), such as for example an orthosis (1), bandage (1′) or compressive item of clothing (1″), consisting of at least one base body (2, 2′, 2″) of at least one elastic and/or non-elastic textile material (3, 3′, 3″), which is designed for the supporting of tissue and/or parts of the body of a patient, wherein the at least one textile material (3, 3′, 3″) of the base body (2, 2′, 2″) is designed at least partially to be substantially transmissible with respect to UV radiation.
ROBOTIC ORTHOSIS FOR LOWER EXTREMITY FOR GAIT REHABILITATION TRAINING
Disclosed is a robotic orthosis for a lower extremity for gait rehabilitation training, comprising a knee stretching member which is provided to be installable on the knee so as to enable the knee joint to be stretched in a swing phase and enable a state in which the knee is stretched to be maintained in a stance phase. The knee stretching member comprises: a knee sleeve surrounding the knee joint; and a knee supporting chamber which is mounted so as to be connected to the knee sleeve, and which, when air is introduced therein and is inflated in the swing phase, enables the knee to be stretched by supporting the knee joint, and enables the state in which the knee is stretched to be maintained in the stance phase.
KNEE BRACE AND PROCESS OF MAKING SAME
In one embodiment a knee brace includes a tubular cushioning body; two sheaths disposed at two opposite sides of the tubular cushioning body respectively; and two sets of a plurality of elastic strips inserted into the sheaths respectively. There are further provided two tubes with the sets of the plurality of elastic strips inserted thereinto respectively. The tubes are inserted into the sheaths respectively.
Thermoformable semi-rigid orthoses
An orthosis for supporting a limb or a joint of a human or of a vertebrate animal, including: a sleeve which is at least partly elastic and is designed to enclose a limb or a joint, a plate made of a thermoformable material, and a pocket formed on the sleeve in order to receive the plate, the pocket having a shape adapted to that of the plate. The adherence between the plate and the inner surface of the pocket is treated in order to permit a relative movement of the plate with respect to the material forming the pocket during and after an operation of thermoforming of the plate, this being done by placing the orthosis on the limb or the joint with the plate present in the pocket. This orthosis is designed to be fitted in place and thermoformed by the user himself.
