A dorsiflexion (or eversion) assistance device attaches around an ankle and foot, such us over footwear. A tensioned cord is extended between a portion attached to the ankle and a portion attached to the foot. This tensioned cord is attached to one of a plurality of portals of a connector attached to the ankle and connector attached to the superior side of the foot depending on a need for greater assistance on a left, medial, or right side. The connector on the ankle can be a bearing movable or rotatable front/back, left/right and around so as to allow the tensioned cord to move as the wearer walks as well as angle the tensioned cord in a resting or walking state.

A protective boot for supporting a leg of an individual and providing leg and foot support in a manner capable of reducing the risk of foot drop, heel pressure ulcers, and other foot conditions. The boot has a continuous cavity within leg and forefoot portions of the boot and complementary in size and shape to receive and support the lower leg and foot of the individual while supporting the foot in an upright position. A forefoot flap spans a portion of an anterior opening in the forefoot portion, and a strap traverses an exterior surface of the forefoot flap so that the forefoot flap contacts the dorsum of the foot, separates and protects the dorsum from the strap, distributes pressure applied by the strap to the dorsum and, in combination with a distal region of the forefoot portion, resists movement of the foot in the dorsiflexion and plantarflexion directions.

Apparatus (20, 200) including a leaf spring assembly (22, 220) shaped to define a first end (32), a second end (34), and a middle portion (36) including a plurality of layered leaf springs (40). The spring is placed across a joint such that the first end is placed against a first location on a first side of the joint, and the second end is placed against a second location on a second side of the joint. When the leaf spring is constrained between the first and second locations, the middle portion (36) bridges a gap (120) formed between the middle portion and the joint. Additionally, a position of a first portion of a limb on the first side of the joint is maintained at a desired angle with respect to a second portion of the limb on the second side of the joint. Orthotic system

An orthosis includes a footplate having a heel portion, a midfoot portion, and a longitudinal axis extending between the heel and midfoot portions. A first deflection zone is defined along a length of the footplate anterior of the heel portion and through which the footplate is arranged to flex during gait to accommodate dorsiflexion of a foot of a user positioned on the footplate. At least one strut is connected to the heel portion of the footplate and extends upwardly therefrom and a connecting portion connects the at least one strut to the heel portion.

Combined shoe and orthotic support

A combined shoe and orthotic support including a bracing assembly, a closing assembly and a protective assembly. The bracing assembly includes a back side support, a left rigid brace, a right rigid brace, and a tongue that are adapted to surround the user's ankle to provide support against ankle issues such as sprains, fractures or the like. The plurality of straps included in the closing assembly allows the user to adjust the bracing assembly around the ankle with a predetermined adjustment. The front side support and the closing assembly further includes laces and a zipper, wherein the laces allow the present invention to be adjusted around the foot and the zipper allows the front side support to be widely opened, allowing the user's foot to be placed in and out of the shoe with ease.
