Heel Protector and Corresponding Rehabilitation Systems and Methods for Using the Same
A heel protector (100) includes a leg engaging section (101) and a foot engaging section (102) intersecting at a heel receiver (103). The leg engaging section (101) and the foot engaging section (102) define a leg insertion aperture (104). The leg engaging section (101) defines at least one aperture (203) disposed in an ankle region (205) to permit a connection tube (1002) extending from an inflatable bladder (901) of a compression device (800) to pass therethrough. The heel protector (100) and compression device (800) work together as a rehabilitation system (1300).
Head Support
The invention relates to a head support, which is formed as a one-piece symmetrical shaped geometrical body having substantially an X-shape with a central middle part, from which legs stretch outwardly each diagonally opposite to each other. The head support also includes a neck strap that holds the head support in place between the chin and upper chest area of the person wearing the head support. The head support is easy to handle and its X-shape offers several advantages. This includes the adaptation of the same to the body of the person on two different support heights.
INFLATION CONTROL VALVE
Systems, methods, and devices are described for providing a fluid control means for an inflation system. The control directs fluid flow from an inlet to one or more outlets of the control. The outlets are independently connected in fluid communication with the inlet by through the control. The control allows a user to create a fluid path between the inlet and a selected outlet by positioning the control in an orientation corresponding to the desired outlet. Each outlet is independently connected in fluid communication with the inlet in various orientations of the control.
Inflatable foot cushion
An inflatable foot cushion including: an anterior side; a posterior side; an inflatable main chamber adapted to support with static air pressures the calf, ankle and foot of a body in a supine position, and an inflatable independent chamber.
Wrist-hand-finger orthosis
A wrist-hand-finger orthosis (100, 200) comprises a splint (110, 210) comprising a supporting splint section (120, 220) extending over the MCP joints and at least a greater portion of the fingers. The supporting splint section (120, 220) has a dorsal main surface (126, 226) adapted to face the palmar side of the hand. A wrist and forearm splint section (130, 230) is connected to or integral with the supporting splint section (120, 220). Inflatable bladders (140, 240; 150, 250) are arranged on the dorsal main surface (126, 226) at a MCP portion (122, 22) and a phalanx portion (124, 224) of the supporting splint section (120, 220) to be aligned with the MCP joints of the hand and the phalanges of fingers, respectively. The orthosis (100, 200) is particularly useful for human subjects having suffered from neurological diseases or cerebrovascular accident (CVA).
Heel Protector Packaging with Integrated Calf Sizing Device
A system (400) includes a package (401). A heel protector (402) is disposed within the package. The heel protector includes a leg engaging section (101) defining a leg insertion aperture (104), a fastener coupled to a first side of the leg engaging section, and a complementary fastener coupled to a second side of the leg engaging section. A measurement device (404) is incorporated into, but separable from, the package. The measurement device indicates whether the leg engaging section will fit a patient calf (302).
Immobilization device utilizing a splint and pillow combination
The present invention provides a combination of a splint and a pillow for use in treating and immobilizing a patient. The combination includes a first portion encased in an airtight container and a second portion also encased in an airtight container. The first portion and the second portion are interconnected by an air flow valve having a air flow regulator for controlling airflow between the portions. The first portion may include bean-bag or similar splint and the second portion includes a foam component. The two portions share the same air such that when the first portion is inflated, the second portion is deflated. Wherein, upon opening of the airflow regulator, the air pressure passes between the first portion, deflating the first portion, into the second portion, thus inflating the second portion.

DIAGNOSTIC SUPPORT
A diagnostic support suitable to be attached to a patient includes a band suitable to be wrapped around and tightened onto a portion of the patient corresponding to an area of interest of the patient and an air space incorporated in the band and suitable to expand so that, when the band is tightened onto the portion of the patient, the air space compresses and stiffens the portion of the patient.
