EXOSKELETON WEAR MANAGEMENT SYSTEM AND EXOSKELETON WEAR MANAGEMENT METHOD
An exoskeleton wear management method is provided. The method includes receiving inertial data from a sensing system; determining whether a left leg component of an exoskeleton device is parallel to a left leg of a user and a right leg component of the exoskeleton device is parallel to a right leg of the user according to the received inertial data; in response to determining that the left leg component/the right leg component is not parallel to the left leg/the right leg of the user, prompting an adjusting left leg component message/an adjusting right leg component message; and in response to determining that the left leg component is parallel to the left leg of the user and the right leg component is parallel to the right leg of the user, prompting a left leg component and right leg component correctly-worn message.
Rapid setting composite article
Methods of using fiber-reinforced composite articles useful in supporting or immobilizing an injured body part is disclosed. The composite is a multi-layer, flexible precursor including fiber reinforcement plies, which can be rapidly cured into a rigid body using a thermosetting resin. Methods of making and using the same are also disclosed, along with kits containing such composite articles.
ADJUSTABLE IMMOBILIZER DEVICE AND METHOD FOR IMMOBILIZING A PATIENT
Systems for immobilizing a patient are disclosed. The system includes at least one preform formed from a low melting temperature thermoplastic, the preform being configured to be formed to the anatomy of the patient, at least one frame coupled to the at least one preform, and at least one support configured to support the anatomy of the patient. The system also includes at least one lock mechanism coupled to at least one of the frame and the support and configured to couple the at least one frame to the at least one support, and at least one adjuster mechanism coupled to at least one of the at least one frame and the at least one support and configured to selectively adjust a distance between the at least one frame and the at least one support while the at least one frame is coupled to the at least one support.
Orthopaedic device and method of use for treating bone fractures
Orthopaedic device and a method of use thereof are provided for treating a bone fracture. The orthopaedic device includes a sheet cover configured to extend over a portion of a patient's skin corresponding to a bone fracture under the skin, the sheet cover configured to form an enclosed volume between the portion of the patient's skin and the sheet cover, wherein the sheet cover comprises a vacuum port, the vacuum port configured to apply a vacuum to withdraw a gaseous volume from the enclosed volume and a member, the member configured to be in the enclosed volume, the member configured to deform in at least a direction towards the skin and apply a force to the fracture.
BODY COMPRESSION DEVICE WITH HOOK-AND-LOOP CLOSURE
Body compression device intended to be at least partially wound around a part of the body in order to exert a compression force on said part of the body, the device including a hook-and-loop fastening system with a plurality of loops arranged on a loop zone and a plurality of hooks arranged on a hooking surface, the hooking surface being elastic and capable of adopting at least two states: a first, unstretched state, in which the hooks are in immediate proximity to one another, and a second state, in which the hooking surface is substantially stretched, allowing it to be hooked onto the loops of the loop zone.
THREE-DIMENSIONAL ORTHOSES HAVING MULTIPLE ADJUSTMENT FEATURES AND METHODS FOR THEIR MANUFACTURE AND USE
A conformable body interface is fabricated using a data set representing a three-dimensional, soft tissue body surface. The conformable body interface includes a body scaffold that is divided into two or more longitudinal segments separated by axial joints. Optionally, the body scaffold is further divided into two or more circumferentially split segments separated by circumferential joints. The axial joints are circumferentially constrained by elastic bands, tabs, or similar structures and the circumferential joints are longitudinally constrained by elastic axial tethers or similar structures. In this way, the body interfaces can accommodate swelling and bending of the body surface.
Undergarment for use with hip spica cast
An undergarment for use with a cast tape to form a hip spica cast, such as a pantaloon-type hip spica cast. The cast includes at least one layer of a 3D spacer synthetic padding material formed into a fabric of monofilament yarns and fabricated into an anatomically correct undergarment structure for being positioned around a torso and residing directly against the skin of a hip spica cast patient.
SPLINT AND OPERATION METHOD THEREOF
A splint and an operation method thereof are provided. The splint includes a plurality of plates and a splint fastening device. The splint fastening device is connected to the plurality of plates and configured to allow the plurality of plates to be relatively close to each other or relatively away from each other. At least one plate of the plurality of plates includes two sub-plates that are relatively rotatable, and the splint is capable of being bent or restored by relative rotation of the two sub-plates.
SPLINT AND OPERATION METHOD THEREOF
A splint and an operation method thereof are provided. The splint includes a plurality of plates and a splint adjustment device. The splint adjustment device is connected to the plurality of plates and configured to allow the plurality of plates to move relatively close to each other or relatively away from each other. At least one of the plurality of plates comprises at least two split portions, and the at least two split portions are configured to be separated from each other or be combined with each other, so as to allow a space surrounded by the plurality of plates to be opened or closed.
Telescoping collapsible splint
A collapsible splint includes an expandable frame within a flexible generally rectangular sleeve. The expandable frame includes a number of members that are extendable rods or tubes. The members are oriented longitudinally within the sleeve and arranged transversely across the sleeve and adjacent to one another. The rods are secured at one end of the sleeve and are connected to one another by transverse links to form the frame. The sleeve includes an opening through which the frame can be accessed and extended to a desired length. The sleeve also includes straps on its rear side suitable for binding the collapsible splint around a fractured limb.
