Systems and methods are provided for supporting an arm of a user that includes a harness configured to be worn by the user, and an arm support coupled to the harness and including an arm rest to support an arm of the user. The arm support is configured to accommodate and follow movement of the arm without substantially interfering in such movement. The arm support may at least partially offset a gravitational force acting on the arm as the user moves and the arm support follows the movement of the user's arm. For example, the arm support may transfer at least a portion of the weight of the user's arm to the torso or other region of the user's body and/or may apply an opposing force to at least partially offset the gravitational force acting on the arm.

The present invention provides a sling which has a vest base including an arm holder that supports the forearm in a desired weight distribution at a desired position and a first and second forearm support assembly which can be used to support the forearm offset from the wearer's body in higher degrees of abduction.

ANATOMICALLY NEUTRAL ARM SUPPORT APPARATUS
20170202696 · 2017-07-20 ·

A medical apparatus for supporting the shoulder complex and humerus in a neutral position includes an upper body garment and a forearm sleeve adjustably fastened to the garment in an anterior and transverse orientation. The patient inserts her arm in the sleeve and fastens an elbow strap around the elbow to secure the forearm in a horizontal anterior position near waistline. The sleeve is adjustable in position to place the humerus inline with the spinal column, thereby preventing adduction and internal rotation of the glenohumeral joint. A weight distribution strap further elevates the sleeve and forearm. The strap is secured in a superior anterior region of the shoulder and spaced from the neck thereby preventing injury to the internal anatomies in the neck region. Optionally, thermal therapy to the shoulder is supported by a removable thermal therapy pouch.

A jersey adapted to be worn on a user's upper body comprising a torso portion having a first opening adjacent to the user's waist, a second opening adjacent to the user's neck, a third opening adjacent to the user's left arm, and a fourth opening adjacent to the user's right arm. The jersey also comprises a pocket sling disposed on the torso portion of the jersey and defining in part a hand opening and an arm opening. The pocket sling is adapted to receive and removably retain the user's arm. A method for stabilizing a user's arm and shoulder comprising providing a jersey, wearing the jersey on the user's upper body, and removably retaining the user's arm in the pocket sling.

GARMENT WITH INTEGRATED REHABILITATION MECHANISM

Protective vest device and related method thereof

A protective vest device that will adequately secure an infant from the ability to self-dislodge medical life-sustaining supply lines or equipment, while also supporting proper body alignment. The protective device mitigates self-dislodgement while allowing for free movement and proper alignment of infant's arms and hands and which are allowed to touch one another, thereby not inhibiting the ability to explore and expand brain development through tactile stimulation and therefore fostering healthy neuronal pathways of the infant. The fostering healthy neuronal pathways is provided by, for example, allowing the hands to touch one another as the infant develops a sense of where it is in space and time as it continues to grow outside of the womb. By maintaining proper body alignment of infant in the device and the configuration of the device, the device supports healthy musculoskeletal development with a stretchy womb like material to mimic the spring back effect of the uterine wall when a fetus pushes against a uterus.
