HEALTH MONITORING CAR SEAT ASSEMBLY
20190225114 · 2019-07-25 ·

A health monitoring car seat assembly for monitoring the health of a child thereon includes a child safety seat that receives a child thereon. A housing is attached to the child safety seat. A sensing unit is mounted on the housing. The sensing unit detects vital signs of a mass in the child safety seat when the mass is a child. The vital signs include body temperature and heart rate. The sensing unit also detects an ambient temperature of air adjacent to the child safety seat. A display is mounted on the child safety seat and is electrically coupled to the sensing unit. The display displays each of the ambient temperature, the temperature of the child, the heart rate of the child and the weight of the child. A power supply is mounted in the housing and electrically coupled to the sensing unit and the display.

Cooling System and Method For A Prosthetic Socket

A prosthetic socket cooling system and method includes a thermally conductive heat spreader including a curved shaped portion configured to maximize contact with a residual limb of a user. A heat extraction subsystem is coupled through a wall of the prosthetic socket and to the thermally conductive heat spreader and is configured to maintain a desired temperature inside the prosthetic socket.

Cooling Shirt for Workers in Hot Environments

A cooling garment for use by workers in hot, humid climates comprising: a moisture-wicking under layer; an outer layer with an air permeability less than 200 L/m.sup.2/s when subjected to 125 Pascals of air pressure; at least one air channel formed between the layers and supported in at least some locations by a porous filler material; and an above ambient pressure gas supply attached operably to the inlet of the channel. Also a cooling garment comprising: a moisture-wicking under layer; an outer layer; one large air channel formed between the layers; tacks connecting the outer layer to the moisture-wicking under layer to prevent ballooning; and an above ambient pressure gas supply operably attached to the inlet of the channel.

A patient support structure includes a cushion layer. A microclimate structure is integrated atop the cushion layer. The microclimate structure includes an upper layer having a vapor and liquid permeable therapeutic region, an air permeable middle layer, and a liquid impermeable lower layer. A first plurality of perforations extends through the upper layer of the microclimate structure in a seat section of the microclimate structure. A second plurality of perforations extends through the upper layer of the microclimate structure in a head section of the microclimate structure. When the microclimate structure is in a first position, air is supplied through the first plurality of perforations and the second plurality of perforations. When the microclimate structure is in a second position, air is supplied through the first plurality of perforations and air flow through the second plurality of perforations is limited.
