A compressed groove point (16) where compressed grooves (12) formed bilaterally and symmetrically on both sides of a center line (CL) in a lengthwise direction of a sanitary napkin (1) or lines extended from center lines of the compressed grooves (12) intersect with each other at a position corresponding to a front end (31) of a intergluteal cleft of a wearer is formed, and a right and left pair of outline inflection points (17) is formed in an outline of a rear end of the sanitary napkin (1) formed into a bilateral and symmetric wavelike shape. Easy deformation parts (18) that facilitate generation of a deformation in a transverse direction of the sanitary napkin (1) and are formed of the compressed grooves that become base edges of the deformation, are provided on or in the vicinity of two virtual lines (S) connecting the compressed groove base point (16) to the outline inflection points (17) on right and left sides, respectively, such that a distance between the two virtual lines (S) gradually increases toward a rea side.

To surely prevent leakage, not to cause a wearer feel anxiety against the leakage, and to improve fit. There is provided a sanitary napkin (1) in which a convex portion (20) of an absorbent body that is high toward a skin side is formed at a skin side surface of the absorbent body (4) at a center portion in a width direction. The convex portion (20) is constituted by a front convex portion (24) designed to be provided at an area including a body fluid expelling portion of a wearer, a rear convex portion (25) designed to be provided at an area including an intergluteal cleft of the wearer, and a constricted convex portion (23) provided at an area connecting the front convex portion (24) and the rear convex portion (25) in a front-rear direction of a napkin whose both side edges are constricted toward an inner side. In particular, the rear convex portion (25) is designed to be provided at an area from a start position of the intergluteal cleft of the wearer at a crotch side, in a rearward direction, to a position exceeding the intergluteal cleft, an end position of the intergluteal cleft or at a middle position of the intergluteal cleft, the maximum width of the rear convex portion (25) being 20 to 36 mm, and the maximum width of the rear convex portion (25) and the width of the front convex portion (24) being the same width.

Methods and Apparatus for Incontinence Mitigation

Particular embodiments of the inventive technology may provide an incontinence pad that includes projection, such as a raised ridge, or a short length projection, that extends from a pad base of and effects application of a force against the urethra of a user (the force, typically upward, that may result from sitting by the user and/or tight fitting shorts and/or pulling a cord attached to the projection); the projection may act to transfer a force from the projection to the urethra. This force may partially or entirely obstruct flow of urine through, or out of the urethra, that might occur otherwise (i.e., without the projection). Another example of the many independent aspects of the inventive technology relates to the provision, as part of an incontinence pad, of a cord that is attached to part of the pad, such as (in only certain embodiments) the aforementioned upward projection.

A sanitary napkin includes a main pad body having an absorbent body, and a flow-guide unit including two flow-guide members having bottom ends connected to a top surface of the absorbent body, and a pull piece connected to top ends of the flow-guide members. Each flow-guide member includes a plurality of flow-guide sections foldably connected to each other, and a plurality of outer junction sections each formed between outer ends of two adjacent ones of the flow-guide sections. The pull piece is pulled to move the flow-guide sections relative to the absorbent body from a folded position, in which the flow-guide sections are stacked one upon the other, to an extended position, in which the outer junction sections of the flow-guide members are configured to contact the buttocks of a user.

(Object) To prevent leakage of body fluids and to readily transmit pressure from both sides to a center portion in a width direction by bringing an absorbent article into close contact with a crotch area extending from a body fluid discharge portion to a start position of the intergluteal cleft.

(Means of Achieving the Object) A pair of right and left compressed grooves (8, 8) that extend in an approximately longitudinal direction is formed on a surface of a liquid permeable top sheet (3). The compressed grooves (8) have separation distance reduced regions (11), in which a separation distance between the right and left compressed grooves is reduced, formed at the back of a region corresponding to a body fluid discharge portion (H) of a wearer, and also have vastly enlarged portions (10), in which widths of the compressed grooves (8) are enlarged, formed at positions within the separation distance reduced regions (11) and where the separation distance between the right and left compressed grooves (8, 8) becomes minimum.

The present invention prevents an absorbent body from twisting and splitting while maintaining the capability of fitting onto the buttocks of a wearer even when the absorbent body has a low fabric weight. The absorbent body (4) has a large number of compressed parts (20, 20, . . . ) formed in a region other than a region that extends in a widthwise center section along the longitudinal direction and includes portions corresponding to a body fluid excretion part (H) and the intergluteal cleft of the wearer. A region including a portion corresponding to the intergluteal cleft is an easily deformable region (21) without compressed parts (20). The easily deformable region (21) extends to an intermediate position in the longitudinal direction and does not reach the rear end of the absorbent body (4). The region extending behind the easily deformable region (21) to the rear end of the absorbent body (4) has compressed parts (20) formed thereon.

A feminine hygiene product that includes a top layer, a base layer, a protrusion formed in the top layer, a fluid absorbing section, and a reservoir section. The protrusion includes a primary channel, and the protrusion is configured to be inserted within an orifice of a user. The fluid absorbing section includes a plurality of fluid channels, and the plurality of fluid channels are configured to wick fluid away from the primary channel of the protrusion. The plurality of fluid channels have a gradient of absorbency, and a highest absorbency is distal from a proximal opening of the primary channel. The primary channel of the protrusion is positioned within the fluid absorbing section. The reservoir section is positioned between the top layer and the base layer. The reservoir section is positioned at a distal opening of the primary channel of the protrusion and comprises an absorbent material.

Absorbent article having a domed section and method of manufacturing same

An objective of the present invention is to provide an absorbent article with which, both when dry, prior to absorbing blood, and when wet, after absorbing blood, is provided with a fit in a wearer's excretory orifice, especially the labia minora, and which is not prone to leaking. Provided is an absorbent article, including a liquid-permeable top sheet, a non liquid-permeable back sheet, and an absorbent body between the liquid-permeable top sheet and the non liquid-permeable back sheet. The absorbent article further comprises a center high part which protrudes in the thickness direction of the absorbent article in an excretory orifice contact region. The center high part further includes a portion of the top sheet, and a cushion part which is positioned between the top sheet and the absorbent body. The center high part further includes a central part, and an outer circumference part which surrounds the central part. The density of the cushion part in the outer circumference part is greater than the density of the cushion part in the central part.
